My 3 boys and myself love "5Below" Day. One day out of the month we all pile up, and the boys (ages 14,6,3 1/2) all get to grab the one thing they want /need. Sometimes it could be a shirt, new drawing markers, prank toys, candy/chips, etc. My 5 stars is strictly based on the store itself and not based on the products (Bc we know not all of them are 5 star worthy). When I was growing up my family would have a "$1Store day " which is the equivalent of this just with a higher quality selection of many things that last longer then the ride back home. LolThelayout of the store allows my boys to feel independent and accomplished as they get to pick out their own item, while also allowing me to have my "mommy eyes" on them at all times. As a bonus mommy also gets to grab a thing or 2 she may need whether it's new PaperMate markers for work , or a new charger. The staff is always great, smiling, helpful, courteous , and patient as my littles swipe and pay for their merchandise themselves. I enjoy it being closer than the Newport News one with gas being 5Above nowadays . More than the products offered I enjoy the memories this store helps to create. Maybe one day you will see another review by someone else who will write about the memories they have in this store when their mom took them out on 5Below day! We don't have much, but we have each other. Add a $20 dollar bill to that and a ride to this store and this single mom of 3 feels on top of the world! read more
