I was standing behind a jewelry display and I happened to look up and make eye contact with the clerk (a tall guy with dark/dyed black hair.) Next thing I know he comes marching over, stands about six feet away and very obviously starts watching me shop. It was humiliating. Especially with me being 1) in my late 30s, not some punk teenager and 2) a person of color. I felt singled out and degraded.

Meh...this store has terminally dysfunctional checkout…read more The approximate population of Calcutta is usually "working" on the floor or behind the counter, but only one or two checkout stations are open...and....they......take......their.................................time. Don't know how that works, because it's not like your purchases wind up folded properly or anything...They won't even let you have the hanger on a 200$ suit jacket. Regardless: I've never gotten out of here with less than a ten minute wait, immaterial of how many people are in line, regardless of time of day or day of the week, or how many people are working. I've also never witnessed them open another register in response to the line of customers waiting to check out (sometimes enough to extend beyond the checkout area). I've left, probably 40% of the time, when I otherwise would have made a purchase, rather than wait, because it's so mad that it's going to take 30 minutes to check out. Decreases sales and increases costs, because staff have to re-stock unpurchased items. And heaven forfend you need to speak to someone at the Jewelry counter. Because then, better plan on at least a half hour (more, if you're returning). Ugh. Just go to Louisville...
