One thing I have never liked about this store is the amount of miscellaneous merchandise hanging on racks throughout the store. They seem to be located in the most obvious places like around the wrap stands, or outside the dressing rooms. But it's like it NEVER gets put back out on the floor. One rack becomes two, three, or more. The wrap stand, particularly in the ladies department, ends up with a wall around it comprised of stuff customers have returned or not put in the right place, or has been gathered up from dressing rooms. It just never seems to actually get put away and the racks moved. Every time I'm in there it's super cluttered and even when item locator says they have it, you'll probably have to sift through the jumbled racks to find it. Or you could look through the piled high-and-deep counters behind the registers at the wrap stands. I recently asked an associate if they ever have to stay late for "recovery," but she said just kind of around the holidays. Would explain how I've been in the store within an hour before closing and then returned the next day just before lunch only to see the same junk all over. So I've allowed for sales and time of day, but this has been the way this store has looked for years.

Unfortunately I didn't get the managers name at the Alabaster store. However, he refused to return 2 pairs a sandals that are within Belk's standard return policy window. I attempted to return the sandals and was told that the return window is 30 days. After researching on the Belk website the stated return policy is 90 days. I reached out to Belk via email to ensure I could return the sandals that did not fit me. They said the sandals could be returned in store or shipped back. Shipping is difficult for me so I went back to the store and attempted to return them again. He was quite rude and stated that even though I had it in writing that I could return the sandals he could not do anything for me because store policy is 30 days even though the website says 90 days. He stood and at the register and argued with me without being able to explain why he couldn't return them when I was told I could by Belk's customer service team. I am attaching screenshots of Belk's return policy. His actions have cost Belk a loyal customer because I will not continue to support a business that treats customers in this manner. Belk needs to decide on a clear return policy because this is not fair to their customers.

Over the years, I've usually ended up going in if I'm looking for something specific for a school project, costume, or odd household item. I hadn't been in a while, and I was taken aback by just how bad it smells. I know thrift clothes and used household items never smell fantastic, but I honestly think it smells worse than it used to smell. I was also disappointed in the amount of furniture they had. There wasn't a lot, and what they did have was not really even in fair shape. Lots of broken pieces. There is also a lot of new merchandise. Most of the Halloween items are new. There are endcaps of new merchandise at the registers. The mattresses are new, which is great, but there are no used bed frames (metal), just the brand new ones they have being sold at retail prices. I also miss the 'collectible' cases where better/more expensive items were kept. If it's still in the store somewhere, I haven't seen it, so I don't know what they're doing with nicer items that are donated.

With a rise in vintage style, these once reasonable thrift stores will list trendy and name brands at high prices. Now i don't mean 50+$ but items you could get at a salvation army for $3-5 would cost ~$10-15 or even $20 (for jackets typically) here. Also due to resellers and vintage shops, many good items are quickly found by said sellers to sell purely for personal gain and not really available to normal people who are just looking to find clothes to wear out and about without concern for fashion. Beware people in carhartt who look like they've never done any job that warrants workwear! Still a great place to find clothes for a fraction of the price of newly bought items!

Dollar Tree is something I usually try to remember to hit up while traveling. While not everything…read moreis a $1 now due to covid 19 inspired inflation, you can get things reasonably priced here. Especially food items. This Dollar Tree store was close enough to my Alabaster hotel, so my friend and I stopped here to kill time before checking into the hotel and look around for a dinner spot that evening. This Dollar Tree reminds me of a garage sale that is organized into a department store. It's really like that. The ambiance and the whole vibe was basically a clearance garage sale with cheap food options, but it was clean and seemed like it had seen better days. There was some cool household goods and things you'd typically find at home. A lot of seasonal holiday stuff for sure, but the main things for sale would be anything you'd see around the house. It's always cool to find homespun things to decorate the house you'd find here at the Dollar Tree, but for me as a frequent traveler, I only can window shop, as I generally don't want to carry these kind of stuff back in luggage, unless I want to. The only cool stuff that I know Dollar Tree is good at is cheap(er) or discounted food items. Most of them are generally found in their freezers in the back of the store. Generally you'd find ice cream, frozen meals, and other edible stuff you'd throw into a freezer to keep it tight. For the most part though, I ended up purchasing drinks that would aid me in my day to day life. They have pretty good stuff, with brands that I never really heard of or existed. Tastes just the same I guess. The overall experience here at this Alabaster, Alabama Dollar Tree location was good and casual, as I did love me a bargain and drinks are usually cheap. While they had ice cream in the freezer, I decided not to get anything because it may do something to my stomach when I had a 26.2+ mile running event the next morning. Ice cream can wait till after for sure. The shop was small and organized pretty nicely. As mentioned before, it felt like an organized garage sale. The service was non existent if you wanted something or are looking for something in particular. The only staff members are helping people with their purchases at the cashier stand. The prices here are definitely reasonable and, while it was a dollar for most items pre-covid, it still remains a bargain for a lot of household goods and items you'd purchase for the house. The store itself was clean enough and we could probably spend about 10 to 15 minutes looking around before deciding to purchase or even leave the store. For the most part though, I still enjoy coming to Dollar Tree whenever my travels permit me to do so. I usually gravitate towards the freezer since that's where most of the discounted food items are. Discounted items are always a awesome thing, so best bet is to come here with an open wallet, and you'll find pretty good deals here. Depending on what you're buying, you may be in heaven. Or at least a cheap lunch is waiting for you here. If you are in the area, come on by. This Dollar Tree shop is located at 300 Colonial Promenade Parkway in Alabaster, Alabama. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, they have a generous amount of parking here, since they are apart of a small commercial community. Plenty of space for you to park. Best bet would be to come early enough to secure the one that's closest to the door, so you don't need to walk very far from your car. If you are someone who loves public transportation, I'm not sure if there is local bus service in Alabaster or if metro Birmingham has a system wide service that reaches Alabaster. If that said, if you have an eye for a bargain, come on down if you are in the area I'm sure they would love to have you, but keep in mind that it just seems like an organized garage sale. With stuff that huge find anywhere in a department store, or a craft store, but at a discounted price. And who doesn't love a bar in anyway these days when everything seems to be costing more and more for the same amount of stuff. Thankful for Dollar Tree to be there to help save some money. 5.0 stars for the entire experience, since I found some bargains and the location was perfect next to the hotel, sort of. The staff is nice and service was quick so we can head back to the hotel. Support local ! A+
