£14.99 a month for access to the gym & classes. You'd assume this would be some run down and out squat. Especially considering the area. In saying that, the gym is surprisingly fresh. I took a quick peak last week and decided this will be my new home. I refuse to pay just under £50 for my local gym. Which is less than fantastic.
It is ever so simple to join and use this gym. I signed up online on Saturday. Sunday afternoon I went in, had my finger print scanned (which is how you access the gym) then went straight in to use the treadmill before my Bikram class in Canary Wharf. See this is what I love. No fuss with inductions. On the site it suggests you book for one once you've scanned your finger print. But I've had more than enough gym inductions in my life time. All I want to use is the treadmill and cycle machine.
So this was a major plus point for me. The fact that you aren't forced to wait for an available slot for a gym induction. You register then are good to go.
There are 5 areas for working out, 1 being a ladies only area. I only used that area yesterday. The treadmills in this section aren't new. In saying that I don't care about that. If you do care, you can use the equipment in the main area. I've yet to try the 'dark room'. On the website is described as the "disco style cardio centre" looks awesome. Before I injured my left knee and ankle I ran outdoors early morning/night in the dark, so this excites me. Or you can use the machines next in the next room. I noticed each treadmill has its own TV attached to it. Amazing no?
The changing area, shower and toilets are new and clean. Very spacey. You use your own pad lock for the locker. I bought one from them for £4. Simple.
For £14.99 I expected a whole lot less. I wish they were open 24 hours. Then it'd be my perfect gym! Well maybe if they did Bikram yoga so I wouldnt have to travel to Canary Wharf, that's be the ULTIMATE gym. read more
