Cheshire North is my go to but Cheshire south has the additional space that allows for sled pushes and other excuses that require additional spacing. R3 has gotten me through two pregnancies, bounce backs post pregnancy, returns from injuries, and just through life's up and downs in general. From the first day I went in for a trial Sally Darrow went above and beyond to answer any questions and make sure I was being served at the best capabilities. Before the Y I would make up so many excuses why I didn't have to go to the gym. The Y has such a great environment and so many things that contribute to making it a great gym of choice. I really wanted to love The Edge Fitness Clubs in Meriden because on paper it checked a lot of…read moreboxes for me. I originally joined for the movie theater cardio room, the group classes, and the women's only area. Being able to watch a movie while working out makes it much easier to stay motivated, especially on days when I forget my headphones. I also liked the idea of having classes to stay consistent and a women's only space where I could work out without feeling uncomfortable. Unfortunately, those features no longer feel like real benefits. The class schedule is extremely inconvenient. No matter what shift I worked, the classes were either very early in the morning or late in the evening after dinner. Once I am home and have eaten, I am not going back out to the gym, especially knowing it will disrupt my sleep. The biggest issue for me was the women's only area. It no longer seems to be women only. I was on a treadmill when a man came over and started working out next to me while staring, which made me extremely uncomfortable. That was the final straw because that space was one of the main reasons I chose this gym in the first place. On top of that, many of the machines feel outdated, and the overall environment just no longer fits what I am looking for in a gym. Canceling was also frustrating. The only way to cancel is by email or physical mail, and responses take a long time. Even though I submitted my cancellation more than two weeks before my next billing cycle, I was told I would still be charged for another month anyway. At this point, I am relieved to be canceling. What originally made this gym appealing is no longer being delivered, and the cancellation process only added to the disappointment.

The smaller class…read moresizes are great for those of us who don't love being overshadowed by those who are a lot more experienced. That being said, the coaching staff is top notch - I've been to a lot of other gyms and haven't experienced the caliber of coaching that CFC offers. The schedule is flexible and the members are very warm and welcoming. My favorite part is actually that there really is an inclusive environment and there isn't any clique-like activity here.

The space is very clean and well-organized. It's not overwhelming when you walk in, as some places can be, with so much equipment packed I to a small space. My two 50-minute classes were so fun and super effective - especially after upper body day, where I was sore for days! I enjoyed it so much that I signed up for 2x per week for 3 months - to give me that extra push before summer! I mostly interacted with Quint, but met the other staff, and everyone was very warm and welcoming. They all seem extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. As many times as I told them not play it Loud they don't listen because they have nothing but immature 20 year olds working here . Very unprofessional . And the randomly charge you $25 if you don't they here to their "club rules" And by that I mean turning down the music so I don't have to listen to their crap Bathrooms are always dirty as well and the ceiling leaks . I also fixed for machines that were down for over 2 weeks put buckets under the leaks in the ceiling when nobody was there . And they Thank Me by charging me 25 bucks for turning the radio down cuz I didn't want to hear cake by the ocean at 3:30 a.m.
