CrossFit Plainville also offers a modified course called BFit for those not quite ready to make the jump directly into CrossFit. Modified doesn't mean easy though! It can be a bit hard to find the first time visiting as it is tucked behind some other buildings. If you're hitting a lot of potholes, you're in the right spot. Don't let that fool you about the gym, though. The facility is kept very clean and is well maintained.

On top of physical fitness, Crossfit Wallingford offers nutritional insights and Ascent Protein (my favorite Lemon Sorbet). This gym fits the mold of any individual willing to get off the couch and try something new to better themselves in life! I had my worries as I knew I couldn't keep up with the athletes on the Crossfit Games on ESPN, but one of the great things about the sport is the ability to scale back all of the movements to each athlete's fitness level. I came in for the on-ramp classes, and never looked back almost 2 years later. Rob and Ron are two of the nicest and most caring people you will ever meet, and their passion for the sport always shows through. This gym has something for everyone as there are near elite athletes swinging from rings and climbing ropes working out along side new members who maybe are just deciding to get off the couch and getting into the swing of things. If you are thinking about starting the Crossfit journey, I couldn't recommend more stopping by on a Saturday morning at 10am for the free intro class, but be prepared for a great workout.

Recently I was told that if I truly wanted to reach my health and fitness goals, it was time to check out Crossfit. I went to quite a few locations and I have to say, two of them stick out as exceptional. They have committed coaches (trainers) who are more committed to me reaching my fitness goals, than selling me a membership/program. If you want to reach your fitness goals, check out Crossfit USA and Crossfit Relentless. Merle and Glen go beyond anything you would expect in setting and holding high standards of results. The program is about me getting better in comparison to me. While they have many elite fitness members, I was just an average guy looking to get back in shape. The level of support for each other, regardless of gender, age, or fitness level is incomparable to any other place I have ever worked out. These girls and guys surround you with support and make you accomplish new levels of fitness with every workout. They have made fitness fun, challenging and most importantly gotten me the results I want. If you want to workout, never get bored, be challenged and supported, check it out. It is worth the 30 minute commute I make to workout three times a week.
