It's been a long time coming and now I can finally give my thoughts on Fitness Systems in West Sac:
Recently today I found out that they terminated one of the most popular classes, Sweat! To tell you I'm happy and sad at the same time. Happy because I can finally cancel my membership as this class was the only reason I was coming to this gym in the first place. Sad because I've been coming to Sweat for about 4 years now, and built bounds and relationships with people that I may or may not see again.
The staff are lazy, the facility itself is dirty(especially the bath rooms), like disgusting dirty! I came everyday and there were things with the bathrooms that were still there two days later!! What's the point of having staff if they're not doing their job, which I thought was to maintain the cleanliness of the gym. They have a bathroom where they do spin and Zumba, that stays gross, it's almost as if they forget it's there, this same bathroom was out of order for nearly a month, and for what, if you come back and it' still looks the same way it did when it was closed. I remember one time a member had spit out blood in the weight room where sweat was taught, and this was when they were going through the process of changing the floors. My friend informed the front of the blood ,when I tell you guys a whole week later the blood was still there and dried into the floor!!!! First off, whoever did it in the first place was gross, but now that you've been informed of the issue that's something that should of been handled immediately, but no! Guess that's what happens when you have young kids running your facility! There have been maybe about two staff that worked there in the past that were actually friendly, personable and professional, but one left and the other was fired.
During Covid, yes happy there's a gym available, but at the same time safety precautions could of been taken more seriously for the sake of your members. I understand you have your thoughts and views, but others do too!
I will say that they could definitely take a few notes from Landpark on cleanliness and professionalism. As they by far are they better maintained facility, not sure about Lodi cause I've never been.
Also might I add that the facility has no damn ventilation, so during Covid it was a for sure a hot box, but the weight room also has no air and it gets extremely hot in there especially when we were doing sweat. There were a number of members who complained and at least ask if the door could be open in the back, they said no, so we basically as to deal with it. Maybe about a month of dealing with this they put this tiny ass fan on the wall like that was suppose to help with the problem! Might I add that the reason they said the back door could not be open is because people were sneaking people in the gym apparently! Okkkk..... but, not only did I see the back door near the weights in the main room opened constantly, I also would see people out the back door near the men's locker room , yet this one room door here we can't open while we workout! Crazy!
Whatever though, for them to have such high standards and demands , they need to make sure their facility is in the same condition!
Ohhhh and one more thing! There's no reason to have staff if their not checking equipment and rooms to make sure nothing is damaged or broken. I took a slam ball to the front desk one night because someone split it in half, and the young lady at the front was just talking so I left it sitting at the desk. She came in to the weight room after the fact like she was about to tell someone off, I had to let her know that it was found that way, and maybe if they were actually doing their job she would of known. Also, for the safety of everyone in there, if y'all are gonna have people doing pull-ups and putting big weight up on that squat/pull rack, you might want to bolt all the screws into the floor so it's not swinging to death like it's going to tip over! Not very safe at all!
Overall, it was a great ride in Sweat, loved every minute of it, glad I met the individuals I did!
I could say so much more, but I've said plenty!
