The Gym is a great gym. I love the fact that it has metal plates, it's clean, and the atmosphere of the gym is full of friendly people. 10/10

so many instructions just to flush, like just fix the toilet

pro: it's clean con: it's a testosterone station in here. maybe i'm used to friendly gyms where more women use the space but this place is made of 70% hostile personalities like i wanna shower after coming here not cuz i'm sweaty but cuz of the way people look at me also there is rules if you need to unload a turd

This place is great, it is huge. The trainers & the owners are really chill & down to earth. I love coming here!

This is a no nonsense gym that has everything to get the job done, without the fluff. Everyone is friendly and it's easy to get to know one another in a supportive environment with fitness goals on mind. The owners are almost always on site. Their is cleaner and towels readily available to wipe down machines. I personally work out with a trainer that sub contracts to use the facility. Their are other trainers available also. The Gym doesn't offer classes, but I don't go there for those types of workouts. Their are treadmills, bikes and elypticals for cardio options.

I have been a member of The Gym for almost 10 years. This is your basic weight lifting and aerobic type gym. There aren't any classes offered or a pool, racquetball courts, sauna, etc. It's a bare-bones type of gym. Which is why there's no waiting around for machines or over-crowded times. You're also recognized when you walk in and greeted by the owner/operator, CJ. As a woman, I don't feel intimidated working out by myself. The guys are friendly but not hitting on me. Because I don't have to wait around for a machine, I usually get my workouts done in an hour which consists of whole body, weight lifting routine plus abs. There are a lot of trainers that work at this gym and if you want to sign up with one, it wouldn't be hard to find one on any given day/time. Bonus thing about this gym is you have 24 hr access.

Very clean, well kept, and the staff is always cleaning throughout the day. $24.99 for the Black Card Membership. You can go to all Planet Fitness locations and you can bring a guest with you as well. I'll be going here for a while because the price plus the extra amenities (massage chairs, water beds, etc) make it that much more worth it. Check it out! P.S. - They are not open 24 hours like they used to be. Fridays they close at 9 and Sat/Sun is from 7-7. That is the only drawback because I do like my late night workout sessions!

I had left two bottles of tanning lotion in the room on accident, number 2 to be specific. I called immediately after and the front desk said they would hold on to it for me with my name and phone number. I came back the next day and he said they were both thrown away, but my name and number were available to contact? Young guy long hair. I've been in the customer service industry for too long to know they did NOT throw them away. I told the kid it's okay if someone took them... but nothing. Anyways the gym is fine... it does what you need, but I don't trust the front desk now. Seems that if you forget something, you won't get it back.

The biggest positive for me is the machines feel new and not broken. I don't struggle to use the machine since it flows smoothly. Staff are friendly as well. The parking can be tight, but I've never had issues getting parking the few times I've been here. Downside is the locker room smells and it's pretty dirty. Some of the shower stalls do not have curtains or a door either so you're exposed if you choose to shower here. The other big positive for me is their sauna. It can fit almost 3x as much people as the downtown location and there are 2 boilers so it gets HOT, which feels great. I'll maybe go here if I don't feel like dealing with downtown traffic or if I'm in the area. I enjoy this gym.

Ventilation is horrible in this gym because the ceiling is 8-9 feet. Cannot speak for the women's bathroom, but the men's bathroom is filthy disgusting. No one uses the lockers because the room smells so bad and you're more likely of having your stuff stolen. The other day I saw an asian lady back her camry into another parked camry with another older asian lady in there. You cannot make this stuff up. Anyways this gym is disgusting an old. The only positives is that there is a LOT of good people that come to this gym. People workout, share the weights. A lot of older crowd in the morning and afternoons. Staff is pretty friendly. But yea a lot of the older 24 hour fitness are turning into this. Old smelly, no renovations. Members deserve better. period. Oh and last point to renovations. This gym still has TWO raquetball courts. Everytime I go, I never see anyone on these courts. Case and point. 24hour fitness does not care.

When you walk in, you'll immediately notice that this PF is noticeably smaller than other PF gyms. I think they make the best use of the space that they can, but coming here during the rush can get a little annoying. If you see that the fly pec machine or the weight cable machine in the far corner of the gym are unoccupied, RUN TO IT!!! They are the most popular weight machines at this gym by far, and sometimes the patrons here have a tendency to damn near camp out on these machines. Really annoying when you're trying to keep a schedule. The fly pec machine, in particular, is the only one in the whole gym. It's always amusing when I do get time on it. I immediately notice other gym-goers eyeing me like a hungry wolf. Just stalking near me, waiting for me to finish. I really wish they would find space for another one. I think most of us would be happy about it. Otherwise, the staff are quite friendly, and they do a great job at keeping the place clean. And surprisingly enough, the other patrons here are pretty good when it comes to etiquette. Sure, there are a couple of knuckleheads here and there that sit down on the machines and doom scroll on their phones for 10 minutes, but they are few and far between. That's way more than I can say for the sh*t show that is the 24 Hour Fitness down the street on Micron. So overall, the staff are cool, the place is clean (including the bathrooms), and the majority of the gym-goers here are very respectful. The downsides are the limited space and accessibility of machines, especially the popular ones. It might not be the best PF, but it is solid. I can think of worse ways to spend $10 a month.

One of my friends recommended that I try Basic Training at the Mather Field Sports Complex in…read moreNovember 2012, as a means of strengthening my left shoulder. In June of 2012, I fractured the head of my left humerus playing soccer and was subsequently in a sling for six week. After my doctor told me I could finally stop wearing the sling, I spent eight weeks doing physical therapy through Kaiser, which helped improve the flexibility of my shoulder a little bit, but my range of motion was still very limited and my shoulder was weak to the point where I couldn't even do a full push-up. So, I decided to take my friend's advice and sign up for Basic Training in the hope that I would see some improvement in my shoulder. I still remember my first Basic Training class and the feeling after I finished, happy that I survived and a little dizzy from pushing myself to hard. Basic Training hasn't gotten any easier since that first class, but now I know what to expect from each class I attend and I love it. I've seen a lot of improvement in the strength and flexibility of my left shoulder and I now, almost, have my full range of motion back, plus I can do full push-ups again. In addition to the improvement in my shoulder, my core strength has increased quite a bit, which has been greatly beneficial to my speed and endurance when I run a 5K, 10K, or half-marathon. Basic Training has also helped alleviate the lower back pain I was having after running races, which I attribute to having more core strength. DI Carson and the other instructors are fantastic; they motivate you to do your best, but at your own pace, so you don't hurt yourself. They also place a lot of emphasis on doing stretches and workouts slowly and correctly, versus fast and in a way where you might injure yourself. All of the recruits I've worked out with at Mather have been very encouraging, friendly, and motivating. I never hesitate to ask someone how to do something correctly, because even after 9 months there are still workouts I've never done before. Basic Training provides a variety of different workouts, which I appreciate, because I don't like the monotony of doing the same workout over and over again. So, whether you are coming off an injury, want to improve your core strength, or really do want to get in the best shape of your life, I highly recommend that you give Basic Training a try.
