From the owner: Welcome to Love Yoga. My name is Randalle Love. I began…read morepracticing yoga in 2013. In January of 2014, I completed my yoga instructor training. While attending and teaching classes at various studios, I noticed a disturbing pattern - all the yoga classes in my area were expensive, which led to a major lack of diversity in regard to the people involved. This felt wrong to me because I believe yoga is for everybody and every body. That's why when I opened my own yoga studio, Love Yoga, in March of 2014, I made my prices at least half of what the other studios were charging, providing a well-rounded, diverse group of people an experience that just doesn't exist elsewhere yet. I knew I wanted my yoga studio to be accessible for as many people as is humanly possible, but I also knew that the overhead costs for a yoga studio can be steep. So I decided to teach all the classes myself. This kept class prices low and ensured that everyone who attends one of my yoga classes gets the individual attention and care they deserve. It's important to me to make the classroom environment at Love Yoga as laid back as it can be. It's a non-judgmental environment and everyone is welcome and wanted. The people who attend classes at Love Yoga have a wide array of different skill levels, so no matter your level of experience, you can feel comfortable here. In every class, I offer variations of each pose, catering to different skill levels in order to accommodate students of all abilities...

As a dude, if you told me I'd enjoy a class that combined Yoga, Pillates, and Ballet, I'd tell you…read morethat you were crazy. The reality is that selling it like that doesn't do it justice. The truth is that it's a workout class. A workout class that can be as hard or easy as you want it to be. A workout that can focus and tone every muscle you'd ever want to tighten up. It's aerobic. It's strength building. Most of all, it's fun. The Barre3 studio is nothing short of bad ass and beautiful. Architetcturally speaking it's clean lines and cool materials. It's well stocked with the things you'd need to complete the workout. Weights, balls and mats. What do you need to bring? Flexible clothes and an open mind and willingness to work as hard as your capable. The instructors will allow you to work within your abilities. They're great at encouraging your effort, correcting mistakes, and most importantly ensuring you're having a great time as you work your ass off. 10/10, would totally do this again! Also, if you're a member of Barre3, there's a mouth dropping party pad on the roof with views that will leave you unable to even. Enjoy yourself! I did, and I would absolutely come back as soon as I've got the opportunity.

First, it is centrally located which made it very easy for me to get from downtown (around Gay St) to it for their classes. I would also say that the staff (especially January at the front desk) are very warm and welcoming. They make you feel excited to be there and treat you as though you are a regular. The classes themselves were great (if you've been to b3 before, they use the same moves that you'd see in other classes) but there were a couple of things I would love to see from the studio in the future. First, I would love to see cardio and/or strength classes on the schedule like some other b3 studios have (and that they have online). I know this means that they will have to get heavier weights, but I love lifting heavy and missed that here. The second thing that I think would be awesome would be having classes at the same time every day (i.e. a noon class). It seemed like they were training a lot of new instructors when I was there so hopefully these additions will happen soon. Either way, the studio is clean and friendly! I will be back when I return to Knox!

Just ask. Love it. Thank you and Namaste.

This studio deserves credit for being Maryville's only public yoga studio. (Others in Maryville…read moregive private classes in their homes or they teach at other locations.) Owner Donna Marie Vigilante offers a decent spread of fairly elementary classes, and she hosts out of town teachers of high quality. Not everyone will click with Vigilante or her teaching style, though, and the division of classes into levels is really rigid. Same with the studio's overall tone (see instructions to prospective students for an example [http://www.smokymountainyoga.com/logistics]). An even bigger problem is how some of the basic information on the studio site is confusing. It says Vigilante "completed her Anusara Teacher Training Program with Betsey Downing at the Garden of the Heart Yoga Center in Sarasota Florida in 2005," but she's not registered at any level according to the official Anusara site [http://www.anusara.com/index.php?option=com_contactmanager&view=teachers&layout=inspired&Itemid=129#list]. If you know yoga, you know Anusuara can be really cool. Maybe someday this studio will be too.
