I have been a PF member for 18 months now in Portland, OR. And as a Blackcard holder, I can visit…read moreany location. On vacation this gym is the closest so I opted for my workouts here. The gym isn't as new as far as the equipment that mine offers, so I had to take a star away for that. And IMO PF should upgrade this location. It's clean, with plenty of parking and a great staff. This morning, around 5am, I was doing the circuit, and had 2 machines left and the final "cardio" block. When two people entered and started going backwards, so I thought. But they weren't. They were sitting on the last two machines just switching off between one another. Now at my home gym, I use the circuit around 4:30am and have NO competition for anything but know the rules if it's busier and always insert myself around someone else's workout so I don't interfere. Well these two clearly didn't care about interfering. There were 4 other people on the circuit and no one else was breaking the rules. Everyone was being cognisant of the other people and respectful. I went over when the light turned red and said I'm on this next for the circuit. The guy said "okay," and when he got up I moved to get on the machine when the woman said she would be "a few minutes." So I waited one more cycle and again said "I'm doing the circuit, and waiting on this machine." And the lady said "yeah we are too" I said "no, actually you're just taking over these machines and no one can continue their workout. You're wasting my time and cutting into my workout." Then she said "you're wasting MY time." At that point I was DONE and walked over to the desk. I let John, who was working, know that there was an issue. He came RIGHT over and actually addressed it. He was firm but polite. They were extremely rude to him and he never lost his cool. I was super impressed by his customer service skills. Obviously they favored me, but I FOLLOW the rules and respect other people working out around me. Anyway Planet Fitness Corporate, please update these machines. The ARC trainer machines are rusted they're so old!!!! The staff is great and they deserve the upgrade!!! ***Update - the awesome guy who helped me out on the circuit was John. And he IS the manager. Well deserved then! This club is being run well which explains why it's so clean and equipment gets fixed so fast. Because management here CARES. And after a week of workouts, seeing a machine get fixed (the tricep or bicep on the circuit) within the week I was here, and interacting with staff, it definitely deserves 5 stars!)

Dirty dirty dirty! As others have mentioned this place has really gone downhill. I'm looking for…read moreanother cleaner, friendlier gym in this area.

How to fix this place:…read more (1). Force the evening staff to clean. The trash cans are routinely full and the staff does nothing to rectify this or remove general hazards. IF they are incapable of this menial task, then fire them. (2). There is zero purpose for 35 lb plates. All this does is create a mess for people who already cannot rerack weights. Many professional gyms go straight from 25's to 45's. The 35's can be sold and weight trees can be purchased instead for better organization. (3). Enforce rules regarding open/no back shoes. Some kid is going to break his foot and then sue for gross negligence. No amount of broad spec waivers will prevent this when it can be easily remedied by staff. (4). Enforce rules regarding filming in the bathroom. This is routinely broken by the teenagers/young adults. (5). Do -not- allow individuals to walk around without their shirt or with their shirt rolled up to their chest. This is a gym, not a night club. If you want a family environment then adhere to it. (6). Use the A/C. The opening month the facilities were kept clean and the A/C was used, now neither are being maintained. (7). Limit your advertising both direct and via television to reputable businesses. The company advertising MLM's on their screens is going to incur associative liability. Also, directly advertising nutritional products through promotion (like the creatine brand which states it has been tested but provides no laboratory tests of the same) will incur associative liability. (8). Terminate memberships for those who do not or cannot clean equipment. (9). Modify your cancellation policy to prevent unconscionable terms. This should be simple and not require three months notice nor should it require in-person functions. I am reading too many cases of unconscionability/deceptive practices which will fall under the federal UDAP. As an attorney, I can clearly state these practices will get you sued. Govern yourself accordingly.

This is a very nice gym with all new machines. It is a wait usually to get on a machine...but…read morepeople, for some odd reason, must be on their FB when they exercise! STOP! Life will not end if you stay off of your device for the hour or so that you are at the gym! Parking is also an issue...at least 10 min of waiting or driving around with 10 other cars searching. I have yet to go into the ladies room and not search for T.P. Who is working this area? They are not good at their job! It's T.P. for Gods sake...Its a must if you are a woman. No FANS!!! Its is very warm in the gym! Million dollar gym but did not add fans! You're FIRED! Not a smart decision on the designers part. The negatives are many to positives are few. I will say I think I like the easy of parking, fans, and less people at the Purple Planet.

This gym is like a bad first date. From the outside, it looks like it's got potential. Then you…read morewalk in and realize you've made a mistake. The equipment is there, sure, but half of it looks like it's been through a few natural disasters. Dumbbells scattered around like someone yelled "every man for himself," machines squeaking like haunted house props, and cardio equipment that should come with a prayer instead of a start button. The locker rooms? Imagine a middle school bathroom after dodgeball, except you're paying for the privilege. Showers that smell like regret, lockers that may or may not lock, and towels thinner than conspiracy theories. Staff is hit or miss. Some are friendly, most look like they're one membership complaint away from walking out. And don't even get me started on the "personal trainers" who seem more interested in texting than training. Two stars because it's still a gym. You can technically lift weights and sweat here. But if you're looking for inspiration, motivation, or even basic cleanliness, look elsewhere.
