Coaching? What coach? They didn't have a coach for our team so some kid's mom or some clueless volunteer teenager on her phone pretends to be the coach when they aren't busy. Why am I paying to get some parent that thinks they are qualified to be a "coach"? You don't just magically become an effective coach just because someone tells you that you are a coach now. We go to the open gym on Sundays and (I'm not exaggerating one bit) literally 5 mins of open gym playing is far more beneficial for my son than an "hour" of practice or the games. Definitely not being coached and little to no learning is happening. Rules are stated but not followed. Description of the league sign up doesn't match what you get. The net is embarrassingly pathetic! It has to be Geri-rigged (by me because nobody there is creative enough or cares enough to make it even remotely functional. It's not that difficult to pull of basic things in a program like this. A real net, a good ball, a real coach, a good referee, and follow the rules consistently. We are not asking for the world, just simple basic things that even a child could organize. They can't even do that. It is clear that everyone hates their jobs and is just phoning it in. I thought I9 league experience was bad but the Y is at a whole other level of incompetency. No wonder the Y programs are infamously known to be the laughing stock in the community. Your reputation precedes you YMCA. We decided to try the volleyball skills development program simultaneously at the Trinity Y, and they actually have coaches, but that's still not saying a lot compared to the Palm Harbor "Coaches". At least they have real nets that you can actually play off of, but the coaches are not trained to be real coaches. Just because someone knows how to play the sport well, doesn't mean they will automatically know how to coach. The kids stand waiting in lines most of the hour just to get one touch every 3-5 mins. This is breaking one of the cardinal rules of coaching. The most basic coaching classes teach that kids should have very little down time and should be actively participating most of the time. You are literally paying like a dollar for every time your kid actually gets to touch the ball. The rest of your money is going toward teaching your kid how to stand and wait for their turn in line. I think I will start a sport program where people actually pay me their hard earned money to have their kids come and stand around a ghetto saggy net. Now allow anyone with a pulse to volunteer that is willing to pretend to be a "coach". Then teach the kids next to nothing, and have them wait in line most of the practice and have so many kids on a team that there is even less time to be on the court during the games where very little volleying is occurring because most of the kids don't have a clue how to play, so that there is very little opportunities to touch the ball. Oh and give a high schooler girl a whistle and call her a "referee" while she is zoned out on her phone or eating her dinner while blowing the whistle. Professionalism that resembles the quality of the net. Bravo YMCA!

How to fix this place:…read more (1). Force the evening staff to clean. The trash cans are routinely full and the staff does nothing to rectify this or remove general hazards. IF they are incapable of this menial task, then fire them. (2). There is zero purpose for 35 lb plates. All this does is create a mess for people who already cannot rerack weights. Many professional gyms go straight from 25's to 45's. The 35's can be sold and weight trees can be purchased instead for better organization. (3). Enforce rules regarding open/no back shoes. Some kid is going to break his foot and then sue for gross negligence. No amount of broad spec waivers will prevent this when it can be easily remedied by staff. (4). Enforce rules regarding filming in the bathroom. This is routinely broken by the teenagers/young adults. (5). Do -not- allow individuals to walk around without their shirt or with their shirt rolled up to their chest. This is a gym, not a night club. If you want a family environment then adhere to it. (6). Use the A/C. The opening month the facilities were kept clean and the A/C was used, now neither are being maintained. (7). Limit your advertising both direct and via television to reputable businesses. The company advertising MLM's on their screens is going to incur associative liability. Also, directly advertising nutritional products through promotion (like the creatine brand which states it has been tested but provides no laboratory tests of the same) will incur associative liability. (8). Terminate memberships for those who do not or cannot clean equipment. (9). Modify your cancellation policy to prevent unconscionable terms. This should be simple and not require three months notice nor should it require in-person functions. I am reading too many cases of unconscionability/deceptive practices which will fall under the federal UDAP. As an attorney, I can clearly state these practices will get you sued. Govern yourself accordingly.

I am demanding an immediate refund, written cancellation confirmation, removal of my card, and no further charges. I reported this matter to the Better Business Bureau and plan to file in Pinellas County Small Claims Court. Customers should carefully monitor their statements--even after Crunch confirms a cancellation and refund.

The cleaning stations are not kept up with supplies and no enforcement of patrons who sweat all over the machines and do not wipe them down. Bathrooms are dirty and auto flush systems rarely work. Machines can be broken for weeks while they "wait for parts". People behind the desk don't seem to care if you complain. There's a new EOS coming soon at Woodlands plaza and we will look into changing membership!
