Went one time and the classes were fun but a smaller gym than what I am used to

I have had a number of trainers in multiple states, but Scott at Kinetix is one of the best. I have a tendency to get bored with routines and he has an unlimited number of workouts. He never seems to repeat. He is very challenging which I like yet mindful of my middle age limitations. I highly recommend him for his experience, knowledge and temperament. He keeps the workouts safe but effectively challenging. The gym always has sufficient workout equipment and cardio machines, plus great great workout classes with Sue and crew, which are varied and offered day and night. They are fun and allow you to build at your own pace. Great gym and staff all the way around! read more

Awesome gym! I love that it's spacious and many machines to pick from. There's always enough treadmills available and very nice locker rooms. The treadmills have little tv's and AC units installed, so you can catch up on the news, and have cool air blowing on you to cool you down. Try the hip abductors! I like the gym. They have great equipment, and a friendly staff. I haven't had the chance to do any of the classes, but my basic needs for cardio and weights are met. I like the fact that they have free weights. I have been a member of this gym since January of 2015. I fully understand the contract, and have been a paying member since then. Recently, their annual Enhancement fee of $49.00 was drafted from my account on 08/21/2015. My contract says the fee would be drafted on 09/01/2015. There was no notification as to why they billed me early. Questions have gone unanswered by Kinetix corporate customer care. The manager at the store said he thinks he has an idea why, but would not tell me and referred me to corporate. The gym is nice, but when they do stuff like this without notice, it screwed me. Beware. Kinetix tricks you. I was suppose to only have a one year contract. Due to 2 bad disc in back I was advised by dr that I could no longer go to gym. I was provided with a note. LOADS OF CLASSES. They have the whole range of Les Mills classes. There are so many cardio machines, more than any gym I've been a member of. There are lots of different weight machines. The staff is quite friendly. I'm always acknowledged or greeted at the door. The class leaders are awesome. They have personal trainers and child care.. And the membership is cheap. Although the gym itself is pretty good, there are shady contract and sales tactics you need to look out for. I was interested in joining when the gym first opened and was told by a manager there, Joe, that if I help get some people in there he could "comp me a membership". That all turned out to be bologna, because 4 weeks later, he gave me the song and dance "my manager is really coming down hard on that and I can't do it". Then after joining, I was also told by Joe that I could cancel at any time. That was a lie! You are locked into a 24-month agreement, so don't fall for that. Also, the gyms hours on the weekend stink and they close early. You can do better for your money I think. read more

Absolutely love this gym. Les Mills group fitness has made me a gym lover. This gym offers great classes and has fun, engaging instructors. The gym is always clean and the staff is friendly! I wouldn't go anywhere else! read more

I am an over 60 woman who has been working out all of my adult life. I love this health club. It has everything I need to keep my body in the best physical condition. Ken Charleston is an amazing personal trainer with so much knowledge and patience. He is very encouraging. It's awesome to see myself losing inches and gaining muscle! He is always watching me to ensure I maintain proper form so that I don't injure myself. He is always challenging me and changes up the workouts so I never get bored. Gym is clean and spacious. Good selection of free weights. Good selection and variety of cardio equipment. Variety of aerobic classes. They have three different memberships to fit most anyone's budget. I honestly don't know where these people are saying they were tricked into memberships and can't get out. The staff is very friendly, and will always do their best to work out any problems. read more

Joined after leaving Gold's Gym. It's a nice and friendly place to work out. It's pretty small and you'll have to wait or share machines at times. But they still have plenty to do to keep yourself fit read more

I joined the club for the classes (which are great) and progressed on to the personal training. I have the best trained in the world (Ken) He knows what I need and how to get me to do it.....and come back for more! Without him I would not be doing what I'm doing. Enough about Ken, don't want him to get full of himself. All the staff there are very nice and friendly and encouraging. It's a good place to be. read more

GREAT GYM , funny CONTRACT and their billing company NATIONAL FITNESS IS A NIGHTMARE. Joined almost 2 years ago. I have only went to this gyms location a few times. I agree that they have great equipment. The 2 out of 3 times I went, locker cleanliness wasn't that great, but it is a gym after all. I understand that we can prevent the spread of germs, virus, and other disease by wiping down the machine after each use, but I didn't like how they posted sign asking gym members to wipe down the machines after each use. Members are already charged $50 yearly for maintenance fee already. BUT if you're ok with being in a contract for 2 years, then you'll be fine. Beware, read your contract carefully, don't like them rush or pressure you. By all means, don't take their word on summarizing the contract. READ YOUR CONTRACT, EVERY WORD. Don't sign or initial unless you fully understand your contract. I don't know what the contract looks like now, but with mine; the only way I might be able to cancel are: death, disability with no prior injury, and undeniable proof you had move 25 miles away from a Kinetix Health Club gym and there is no other gym they can transfer your membership to. Again the gym was good, this is just reminder for future Kinetix Health Club members to read your contract thoroughly so that you wouldn't have any surprises. I would have given them at least 3 stars, but their billing contractor or billing service department, National Fitness, isn't nice to deal with. One of my disbelief with my contract is I paid for my first and last month up front, but because my contract states 24 month payment; I was charged for the last month anyway TO FULLFILL 24 MONTH PAYMENTS. Even through it was the gym policy to charge their first and last month together as their first payment. So again, don't be like me and read your contract very carefully or try other gyms that aren't contract base. read more

I really love Les Mills classes and the class schedule for this establishment sounded right up my street - loads of Body Attack, loads of Body Pump etc - perfect. I went to have a look around this gym yesterday and I was pretty disappointed to be honest - I was expecting something completely different. I expected this gym to be a very community orientated place with lots going on and a friendly atmosphere. I didn't find the staff particularly friendly at all and there didn't appear to be much of an atmosphere. They are currently advertising a $25 a month deal for the gym and classes but that does not include the enrolment fees ($80 for both my husband and I) and $50 yearly maintenance fee each. Instead of messing around with all the extra fees, why not cut the bullshit and just raise the monthly fees and stop the ridiculous hidden charges?! They seem to have eased up on the 2 year contracts now and offer month to month which is good - I'm wondering how much of that was down to complaints about the parent company, National Fitness. Look them up and the reviews - be very careful. THIS IS WHY I AM NOT JOINING: Big mistake with me - as someone that has battled with eating disorders for possibly half of my life, do not try and sell me a 90 day weight loss package program involving meal replacement shakes, especially when I only weigh 130lbs. Luckily I am old enough to know better but had this been 10 years ago I would have walked away with a complex about my weight again. read more

When I first walked into Kinetix, I did not feel welcomed by the staff. They're not that friendly and they make you feel awkward (BIG sales mistake. Be nice. Even if you need to fake it.) A staff member by the name of Joe approached me and was a complete sales shark. Not nice at all. I asked for a trial pass, which they reluctantly gave me. I tried out the gym for a few days. I liked the equipment and the facility. On the final trial day we talked membership prices: There are three memberships you can choose from. The first one is real basic. $29.99 monthly for the use of the facility. The second one is $39.99 a month, which includes the aerobic classes. The last one is $49.99, which includes aerobic classes and childcare. You need to commit to a minimum 2-year contract. To sign up, you need to pay the first and last month of the contract, which they don't tell you until you are getting ready to sign the paperwork so be careful!!! (This is the moment when I realized this place is shady and dishonest) PLUS, on top of the first and last month fee, you have to pay an initiation fee of $49.99 per person. Then, acting as if they were doing you a big huge favor, they tell you they will reduce the initiation fee if you sign up today. To pressure and convince you, they tell you that this lucrative offer is only good for today and if you walk away, they will not offer this deal to you tomorrow. What if you need to talk it over with your spouse? I was so disgusted with the way they do business that I ran out of there as fast as I could. They really do not care about you. They are there to make money and get you wrapped up in a 2year contract. I mean I like the gym and there is hardly any people (hmmm, I wonder why??) But believe me, there are better gyms out there that do not treat people this way. If they had been honest upfront and offer exceptional customer service, I would have signed a contract right there and then. Do yourself a favor, Avoid this place like the plague. read more

Staff is friendly, but I signed a 3 month contract and after the three months was up I was still charged! The head pt manager is located mainly at 49th street gym. But it is almost impossible to get a hold of him. Prior to the end of my contract I called and cancelled it even though this was not required of me on top I wrote a letter to them for the cancellation which once again not required! Is there no such thing as a contract at this establishment. Staff as I said great along with trainer Christian, but took many trainers to even get a good trainer. Will I be back? No I will not nor would I recommend anyone to this poor managed business. read more

Gym is great but do not join here if you ever want to get out of it! Their contract terms are ridiculous. I've moved twice both times a bout 25-30 miles away from the closest gym putting me over an hour a away. Both time I was told they measure zip cod to zip instead of addresses so based on that I was still inside the 25 mile cancellation zone. Enjoyed the gym but working with their back office is a complete joke!!! read more

Okay so I will say this. I went into this place around the time they were just about to open up because I saw the sign that said it was only $10 a month. My overall vibe was that the sales people were snakes and they advertised that low monthly cost just to try to rope you into something more expensive. I didn't like the over the top sales pitch and at the time, I couldn't afford what they were trying to sell me. Fast forward to a year later. I was trying desperately to find a gym that was affordable, close to home that I could actually enjoy. Feeling comfortable i think is the most important thin (besides money) when choosing a gym. Based on my previous experience, this is the last place I would have gone to. I was trying out different options but nothing worked out. Shapes was too far away for me and Youfit was just a terrible experience in my opinion. I almost gave in and signed up at Shapes, which is a great gym but not convenient for me due to my hours and the distance. I decided to go check this place out again. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! Seriously, it s like they revamped the whole way in which they operate from the people that greet you when you walk in to the plans available. The gym its self is IMMACULATE, all new equipment, HUGE classroom where they offer bad ass classes during hours that actually work for me and a ton of cardio equipment as well as digital read out machines. I fell in love and signed up and am so glad that I did!!!! I think they obviously had to tweak there model to adapt to the people in this market and it is perfect now. I am so glad I gave it another shot, it is everything I could have hoped for. Childcare, cardio classes the works and totally affordable. I hope this place sticks around because i know they got a ton of bad reviews at first! But they have turned it around and it is awesome!!! read more

If you want to be over charged and taken advantage of after your contract expires this would be the right gym for you. From the start I was persuaded to come in by all the low monthly rates signs up all over. This was 2 years ago, so I may be incorrect on the exact amount, but I believe it was $10 or $20 a month memberships. Then you walk into the door and receive details they will happily give you that rate they display all over after a 2 year contract with them paying double the amount and a hefty sign-up fee. They will give you a list of all these local places that you can receive discounts from by being a member and when you try to receive these discounts the company will let you know that is not something they do. Then when your contract ends, don't worry they will not call and bug you to renew because they will just keep charging you monthly, but not at the discounted rate you saw when you first signed up. Then add to it the service fees you receive every July. They offer nothing more than other gyms in the area and they are double or triple the cost. read more

Gosh, where do I start!! Hidden fees & high pressure sales. I was lucky enough to tell Joe that I will not commit to a gym for 2 years without giving it a try to see if I like it, being that they are a new gym that I know nothing about. He gave me a month-to-month contract. I signed up with the personal trainer the next day for my free session.. Well.. you have to commit to 1 -5 days a week of training like a contract. I told him I only wanted a trainer every 6-8 weeks to change up my program and they REFUSED to work with me. I went home & typed up my cancellation notice.. BTW, by law you can cancel a gym membership within 3 business days... Well... Joe didn't want to lose a sale so now he has agreed to give me the training as I NEED, not as they make me.. and it's better now!! But, my poor friend, signed up for a 2 year contract and they are giving her the same BS they gave me and won't budge... BUYER BEWARE!! Go month-to-month to see if you really like the gym before committing to this gym!!!!! read more
