I have nothing but raving reviews to say about Alonzo as a personal trainer. I've been under his guidance for nearly 2 months now, and not a single training session has been similar to any other, which is exactly what I am looking for as a male in his mid-20's who considers himself in pretty good physical condition. Call me a sadist, but when I work out, I like to be challenged. I want to walk out dripping sweat, panting, heart-palpitating, and sore. I also want to be able to come back the following session and have my expectations completely thrown-off, aka experience complete muscle confusion. That is how you get change: burning calories, increasing mass, and maintaining a high metabolic rate. Just like the P90X mantra: variety is key. Alonzo insures that all of those goals are met, if not superseded, during his training sessions. The end-to-end cycle is flawless: thorough pre-workout stretching, smooth transition to warm-up exercises to get the blood flowing, and innovative drills incorporating core, balance, agility, strength, power and cardio, all at the same time, followed by another cool-down session and final stretch. Put simply, he really does deliver upon the name, "DynamiCore." The evolving nature of the "core" workouts will undoubtedly get you the results that you need. It's simple, yet brilliant. Best part is, even if you're not in optimal shape, he is able to smoothly design workouts that allow for modifications and adjustments, if necessary. He knows the difference between pushing limits versus overstepping boundaries. I've seen the way he connects with each of his trainees and he is always mindful of these parameters. It definitely shows through given the high loyalty factor he appears to drive with his consistent (and growing) client base. Each time you train with him, you will leave with so many positive takeaways: You will feel happy, refreshed, and accomplished. His workouts are also fun! It actually is an exciting environment to partake in. Whatever your goals are, I can assure you with my fullest confidence that Alonzo will be able to fulfill them. I am writing this review, because I feel everyone in chicago should know about this trainer. I was looking for a personal trainer in chicago and happen to come across a posting on CraigsList for DynamiCore Pt. I must saw at first I wasn't too sure, but after my experience with them, I highly recommend DynamiCore. I worked with Alonzo Massey and he was great. What I liked about him most is that he pushed me beyond comfort zone and didn't let me quit when i start to complain. He was really upfront and honest with about everything. He varied our workouts very often, from weight training, boxing, pilates, cardio intensive and bootcamp style training. My goal was to lose 50lbs in 5 months and he completely met that goal and passed it by 10lbs. I went from a dress size of 16 to 7 and I love my new body and my overall self confidence. So if your looking for a trainer who will be honest with you, not just take you money without any results, understanding and will never give up on you no matter what, then DynamiCore is the place. read more

Dynami Core was the best workout experience for me! I've tried other trainers and different programs, like working out at home or even going to the gym on my own. None of these programs compare to my experience with Dynamicore. Alonzo is a great trainer! He keeps everyone in the group motivated. What I like about his workout groups is that they are small so he can still give everyone in the group time. I also like that he NEVER lets you slack and kept me going and pushed me to limits!I also like that he changes the workouts up, sometimes we are outside and sometimes we workout inside, which is great for me because I get bored easily. Alonzo is committed to his clients weight loss. Its good to know that a trainer actually cares and is not just in it for the money. He makes sure that we have workouts to do even when we are not in class. He sends out a weekly newsletter with workouts that you can do on your own as well as a recipe of the week. If you're looking for a personal trainer, look no further. Before I started working out with Alonzo, I hadn't had the greatest experience with trainers. They didn't seem to be very invested in helping me meet my goals and workouts were never new or varied. I'm really grateful I gave it one last chance and ending up working with Alonzo. He makes workouts intresting, changing things up constantly. As someone who has a hard time getting to the gym on my own, it's incredibly refreshing having every workout be a surprise. Sometimes its boxing, intense cardio, weight lifting, pilates or a combo of all of them! In the first three months alone I dropped 30 lbs! On top of pushing you physically, he understands how to help you push through those mental barriers that are what really hold you back from accomplishing your goals. I haven't always liked to work out but I love to stay in shape. Prior to training with Alonzo I did the occasional class at Xsport and ran outside or in the gym. I really hated how packed it would get at the gym so I had the tendency to not go as often as I should. Now that I have been training with DynamiCore over the last 5 months I can say that I have seen a major difference in my overall heath and body appearance. I see the most difference in my abs and legs where cellulite is visible most. People ask me all the time how I stay in shape and I am happy to tell them all about my boot camps with Alonzo. I would highly recommend Alonzo to anyone who is looking for help with a personalized training plan and/or someone who requires help keeping motivated to achieve their goals. I've worked with a few trainers, but Alonzo really changed my outlook on workouts. Every session is different - sometimes based on just one piece of equipment, sometimes using pretty much the whole gym - but it's always balanced and very carefully designed to suit - and extend - my capabilities. It's refreshing not knowing what to expect, but also being confident that I will get pushed just hard enough . Alonzo demonstrates perfectly, and keeps a close eye on your form as you exercise, ensuring you get maximum benefit from every session. If an exercise is too difficult, - or too easy - he always has a modification to make it manageable. I had a great time working out with Alonzo. I did one of his Saturday morning bootcamps called fat smash. Now mind you, im more of a workout at home person, ive done p90x and insanity, but his workout was as good as any of those programs. I am the type of person who needs to feel every bit of my workout, and sweat my butt off. Let me tell you that Alonzo definitely fullfilled that need. His workouts are fun and hard, everything I like in a workout. He is very hands on and makes you feel like you belong there. He pushes you just enough. I absolutely loved this place! Alonzo is great! He takes the time to teach you not only the workouts but also about great nutrition.
