This review has been a long time coming. Laurie has been a part of my fitness life for over a year now. At the time I was looking for a trainer to help me get in shape. And what I found was so much more. I found someone who truly cares for me and has become more than just my trainer she is a great friend. Aside from all of the amazing qualities I could describe of Laurie and fit 2 go, the one piece that outshines everything is the amount of care she puts into everything she does. For the health and fitness industry this quality is essential. She is genuine in her want to help individual's move towards a better quality of life. I went through a range of goals and wants but laurie always prioritized my health over everything else. While under Laurie's coaching she taught me how to grow and adapt to not only become a healthier person but also a better human. I learned not only how to become healthy but also how to fuel my body and soul for physical and emotional wellness. Laurie not only helped me achieve my goals but she continued to educate me so that I was independently able to incorporate these lessons into my daily life. The human I am today is very different than the person who originally reached out to lauire. I am a healthier and happier person--empowered to charge forward in life knowing I have the tools to make educated decisions about my health. I am grateful for the guidance she has given me in the last year and I am extremely excited to see where her amazing personality and knowledge taker her! read more

Working with Laurie has been such a gift! Especially after having a baby. I was feeling overwhelmed and unsure of where to start, but she met me exactly where I was and helped me rebuild my strength, both physically and mentally. She has helped throughout both my pregnancies and postpartum! Her workouts are effective, personalized, and always encouraging. What I love most is that it's not just about fitness...Laurie truly cares. Every session leaves me feeling stronger, more confident, and just better overall. If you're looking for a trainer who's supportive, knowledgeable, and genuinely amazing, Laurie is it! read more

We joined a local gym, but were chased away by too many overly sweaty "bros" who grunted loudly with every lift or flex, and saw no need to wipe down equipment after using it. Ew. We joined the local "Y," but were constantly frustrated by swimming pool and fitness class schedules that didn't mesh with our work/life schedules. Sigh. Then, we found Laurie Tanner. Wow. And hurray. She is an exceptional personal trainer -- skilled, experienced, empathetic, adaptable to last-minute schedule changes, wonderfully personable, and consistently, warmly professional. She always has a new idea or alternative to suggest whenever one is wanted or needed. She's truly motivating, without being too much of a cheerleader or drill sergeant. And she comes to our house, which means in the time it used to take us to get out of bed and to the gym or the Y, we're already part way through our workout with Laurie. My wife and I are thrilled beyond words to work with Laurie. We're making good, steady progress toward our goals to weigh less, and to be stronger, more flexible, and more consistent about our self-care. If you've got similar or related goals, talk with Laurie. You will be glad you did. read more

I am 50, very out of shape, and was clueless about the most effective way to balance exercise with diet to achieve my weight loss goal. In 5 weeks I have lost 12 pounds and I actually look forward to my workouts with Laurie. She is an absolute joy, very patient and genuinely cares about my overall well-being. She has taught me so much and without her, my weight loss could not have happened. I have a long way to go and I am so very thankful that Laurie will be my coach during this journey. I even got my mom to start training with Laurie and she has also had great success. read more

Yelp for Laurie Main points, the the people value brevity: * Partner in fitness, friend, not fad or quick goal * Creative workouts keep things fun * Remote workouts for a year * Keep bodies and therefore mental state good during shelter in place emergency Waxing philosophical: My wife Michelle and I have worked out with Laurie for 4.5 years (I guess time also flies when you are working out!) and she's become a friend and health partner for life more than just a trainer for reaching some fitness goal. She somehow manages to keep inventing new ways to keep us moving, which keeps workouts interesting and fun. Laurie has also been super flexible on scheduling over the last year, by adding remote workouts via FaceTime, which has allowed us to have time slots that work for our schedule. We get the same great workout we always did, and as nerds we see the data from our Apple Watches so it's not just a feeling. We get the same fun and camaraderie that we always had with Laurie with remote workouts. Now with the stay at home order, it's more important than ever to focus on keeping our bodies and therefore minds in good shape. We're choosing to lose weight, increase fitness, and keep a positive attitude and Laurie is a key part of our success. Thanks for being a fitness and health partner for life and for keeping us going via your invaluable remote workouts Laurie! Michelle and Steve read more

I've been with Laurie for almost two years now and I still look forward to our workouts after all this time. She's professional, knowledgeable, and honestly cares about my health and well being. Even though I've been purposefully ignoring her nutritional advice (pizza is a food group, dammit), most of it seeped in anyway and sometimes I catch myself actually trying to eat healthier. Laurie is more than willing to answer all of my questions (what does this exercise do?) and keeps me on task, and I'm in the best shape of my life as a result. read more

I have been training with Laurie off and on for a couple years. Off and on because my life was all over the place. She is AMAZING!!!!!! I have had other trainers in the past, but honestly none compare to her. She trained me when I was pregnant, she tailored my workout routine to fit my needs. She also trained me while injured and helped me back to recovery. Now I have a baby and she gives me workouts I can do with my 8 month old. All her workouts are tailored for your specific needs and goals.I just started working with her again. I'd say what makes her stand out is, her positive attitude, her dedication, her willingness to do whatever it takes to help and her kind heart. Not only did she help me with workouts but also with my nutrition. I always tell her she's much more than a trainer, she's a motivational speaker, a nutritionist, a therapist and the list goes on. The best part is she actually believes in me. I'd give 10 stars if I could. read more

Thanks to Yelp I have found Laurie who has helped me in so many ways than just personal training. She is restoring the way I feel in my skin and making me feel validated as a person who matters. When you have very low self worth she lifts you up so ya she's more than just a personal trainer.. she is a listener.. a motivator.. life coach and doesn't ever make you feel bad like you see those trainers on TV... because she knows every day or choice is a step in your own personal journey .. not anyone else's! I have been with her for 6 months and I feel stronger, more energetic and losing weight and keeping it off. She doesn't just meet you at your house, she can meet at a park, or on a hike or join you on a run. Also if you want to bring a friend, that friends first visit is free so I've had at least 3 friends join in. My husband and I are both Physical Therapists so we can be easily distracted with biomechanics or anatomy but Laurie has always looked for form, purpose and performing exercises effectively and safely. Oh best memory so far is when Laurie teaches my kids (5 and 2) exercises and gives them fun obstacles, or if we meet at the playground she offers to watch them while I finish my set. Please reach out to me if you need anymore motivation or questions about this review. This is an honest review that I am happy to write. In all sincerity, good luck to you.. who ever is reading this! read more

I had talked to a couple personal trainers and then I found Laurie. She is very knowledgable and has been in the business for over 10 years, I felt she was real and understood my habits and put together a program that would get me where I wanted to be without drastically changing my lifestyle. She is mobile and thinks outside the box so it's never the same routine which I really enjoy! She is always happy to make suggestions and I've learned a lot. I super appreciate all she's done for me and would highly recommend meeting with her for your personal training and nutrition needs!! read more

After years of procrastination AND fear of re-injuring an old back injury, I hired Laurie as my fitness coach. It's been six months now and I have seen significant results. My main concerns is that I would over do it (typical guy move) with bad posture/form and re-injure myself. Laurie has set up a great program form me. She teaches me perfect form and even gives me "homework" and keeps my diet in check. Being able to work out of my house is a huge help as I don't have time to get to the gym. I can't recommend Laurie enough as a personal trainer. You will get the results you want from her. read more
