The…read moreambiance of the restaurant and the service I am not sure about since they brought my food back for me, but I did not enjoy the food at all. I got their regular Roul burger topped with raw onions, lettuce, tomato, and mayo/mustard. The burger was extremely dry so much to the point where I could not even eat it and the meat was just big and thick. I did not enjoy it at all and could only take three bites out of it. It came with onions rings and this special sauce. I really liked the special sauce with the onion rings. That was the best part of the meal. My meal was also almost $20 so I definitely expected to get my moneys worth, but I did not.

This has been my go to grocery store since I started working late nights in Gonzalez. It's the…read moreperfect place to stop on my way home. It's well organized and designed like you'd expect a medium sized grocery store to be. Set up in a way where you almost have to go right upon entry. It's always clean, shelves are well stocked and everything is where it's supposed to be. Ralph's Market feels like a neighborhood grocery store. The cashiers and stockers are very friendly and personal. Maybe I go there too much but I find myself having personal conversations with some of them about their personal lives and other things going on in their world AND I'm not even from the area. Sure go here if you're in the area. I'd almost always prefer to support a store like this which is independently owned instead of one of the larger chain grocery stores where you don't get the personal touch. The deli also serves lunch and breakfast with several options on each. I've had the breakfast with no complaints and even a slice of pizza one day. Also, two of the ladies I work with go there to get salads on a regular basis for lunch. But there's also more hardier options available.

Lamendola's Supermarket is the best kept secret for catering in and around Ascension parish…read more This is my second time ordering my Thanksgiving spread from them and I 100% have ZERO regrets. It would've costed me a small fortune to purchase all the ingredients and make everything myself. For less than that, I was able to get a fried turkey, cornbread dressing, rice dressing, macaroni and cheese, broccoli and cheese rice, sweet potato casserole, green beans, gravy, dinner rolls and a pecan pie. I ordered some peach cobbler too just for a little extra razzle dazzle. The food was delicious and the leftovers are even tastier! Huge caveat--THEY DELIVERED it to my doorstep on Thanksgiving day! The lady who delivered actually brought everything in my house and set it on my counter for me. Top notch service! If you're wanting to try things before you go out and purchase the full spread like I do, their lunch deli runs their holiday menu during the week. Stop in and grab you a plate to try it out! I ended up getting the baked fish which came with corn, crawfish etouffee and I got the bread pudding for dessert( I paid less than $10 for this). The fish was moist a little salty but bearable. The crawfish etouffee over rice was really good and so was the corn. But the definite star of this particular meal was the bread pudding. I can honestly say the only place I've had better bread pudding was at Lil Dizzy's Cafe in New Orleans. I wish I would have gotten the name of the young lady that served me because she was awesome. Not sure when I'll work in the Gonzales area again. But I'll make it a point to come over here again when I do.
