Most doctors focus on their computer these days while one ear is listening. Here they listen and truly want to help however they can. I consider my provider a friend because she cares so much. Annie Grossarth, Aubrey Harding and Elliot Taxman (doctor) have a questionable value system and moral compass for providing "high quality care" as a profession. People get away with things because they rely on others being quiet about it and I won't be silenced. Here are some more details I initially left out of the below review because Taxman seemed confused. While I was having a panic attack he held up his wedding ring hand in front of him and waved his hand around showcasing his ring-- I'm not sure why he thought that was appropriate? What does his relationship status have to do with my appointment? Is this standard for all his appointments? He seemed confused, I told him while in the middle of a panic attack I'm not here to date you??? I'll continue to repost this until the end of time, no patient should have to deal with this and then pay $800/hour My appointment with Dr.Taxman was incredibly disappointing. I had a panic attack at the beginning of the appointment, when I recovered I looked up and his head was tilted down and eyes looking up glaring at me... he looked angry? We just sat there and stared at eachother for maybe 60 seconds until I broke off the stare off. It was scary, bizarre, and cruel. Nothing warrants that response from a doctor. I asked about my issues, I have year round allergies I asked about and he shrugged and mentioned one drug, that was it. We went over two prescriptions I have, he said wow that's a high dosage when referring to my antidepressant, he did not elaborate. There was a knot on my throat he said he would be willing to see through till the end-- I'm OK, I'll go to another doctor. It's clear he didn't want me in the appointment and he had an attitude the majority of the time. He rolled his eyes twice while I was talking. I read glowing reviews from other patients who he's helped with similar issues before booking. There were STILL several other issues but I'll leave it at that. I overestimated his abilities as a professional and as a doctor. Taxman has weak character and questionable moral compass if this is how he treats people/patients. Imagine asking a doctor for help and the above happens. Then having to repost this review 83 separate times, Well Life & Taxman are trying to hide what happened. The next step is going to the Oregon Board of Natropathic Medicine. I thought Taxman was a good doctor but he was horrible, self flattering, snide, and indifferent in helping me. I'm still flabbergasted because I thought I was choosing a good doctor who could guide me to other good doctors and give me advice. He could have rescheduled me with someone else if he knew he wasn't going to help me. Edit: Since I said I was going to report my experience with Taxman to the Oregon Board of Natropathic Medicine because Dr Harding and Annie Grossarth weren't doing anything to help me they cancelled my medication appointment with a different doctor. Well Life denied me access to healthcare and created issues accessing my medication because I reported Taxman to Oregon Board of Natropathic Medicine. Annie kept trying to get me to talk to her on the phone instead of email, she lied about there being a glitch in Athena and needing to cancel my appointment. She lied about a required transfer of care phone call, she put a hold on my account until I talked to her over the phone. She was extorting me for more information via TELEPHONE ONLY which is undocumented until I received healthcare. This place is so gross, Taxman is gross, Annie and Aubrey are gross, the facilities are also musty and gross. The paper liner on the patient seating was dirty with spots on it when I went in for my labs and also when I went in for my appointment in a different room on a different day. How many other patients have had similar issues here and they couldn't defend themselves. Try giving patients kindness and dignity, get some ethics training as an organization. Anyways, this place is a JOKE

First, I'll say my review is strictly based on Anna Mecasa, not her support staff who were all…read morenothing but wonderful. They were professional, caring and kind. The "doctor" however was another story. I would not send anyone I care about to see her, EVER. Unless you already have a definitive diagnosis (and even then) I would strongly recommend finding another rheumatologist, which I understand is difficult in this area, but trust me, it's worth it. The office called me in for a last minute cancelation and I rushed over to the office. She hadn't reviewed a single thing about me and her exam consisted of looking at my hands and feet (all swollen) and asking me to squeeze her fingers. I had to repeat myself several times and she wasn't retaining or hearing anything I said. I gave her the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe it was because I was a last minute add and she hadn't had time to prep like she might normally do. However I found out some of the scans she ordered had come back with concerning results - to the point that the hospital left multiple messages with the staff and then called me directly, and she never mentioned a word of it...still hasn't. Luckily I watch for my results and saw a different specialist to address. Upon my follow up, she was again unprepared and had no idea what was going on. She relies strictly on lab results, which is dangerous and negligent, in my opinion, when it comes to diagnosing and treating autoimmune diseases. I'm positive for several things (according to multiple labs and recognized diagnostic criteria for several diseases) but not "positive enough" according to her. I showed pictures and documentation I've kept to help provide more clues as to what was going on because I recognize autoimmune diseases can be very difficult to pinpoint and bloodwork labs are never the single diagnostic tool. I had to keep repeating symptoms, she completely dismissed pictures I had shown her and she continued to reference back to ONE set of labs. Mind you multiple other results from other labs were abnormal and positive and multiple other doctors are certain it's something AI related because of the systemic symptoms and presentation. Her solution was, and I quote "take a leave of absence from work and see someone about depression." Incredible. I have never walked out of a doctor appointment, but she is so unbelievably unprofessional that I couldn't listen to another word of her rambling and telling me to "just live a healthy lifestyle." As an active and previously healthy individual who can no longer function on a daily basis - to have her say something so ignorant was beyond appalling. I don't know if she assumes if you're younger you are fine or if she's not well versed in AI diseases or if her bedside manner just sucks that bad. I should have trusted my gut after my experience during and after my first appointment but I was hopeful I was mistaken. I wasted weeks of feeling horrible and not being able to live my life because of her and now I'm back to square one waiting to see a different rheumatologist. My advice is do your own research,  document everything, and find a different rheumatologist to see. She is the kind of healthcare provider that makes you want to give up on the medical field completely. I hope I can save someone else from being treated this way by Anna Macasa.

This review is long overdue and truly from the heart. Dr. Cavanaugh performed a magical "trifecta"…read moresurgery for me several years ago "down there" . Her humor and bedside manner made me feel completely at ease and her knowledge and skill cured all that ailed me! I am grateful to the doctors who saved me from terminal cancer 13 years ago but I hold Dr. C. In as high a regard if not more....she didn't save my life but she made life worth living without chronic pain that followed me for two decades and became increasingly worse with stress. I'm so glad she followed this not-so-glamorous medical path because it is truly needed. I count myself as lucky to have found her!
