Luckily I have David Caplan to take care of business for me. David is extremely knowledgeable about all things fiscal (he's a deductions wizard) and he's honest and reliable. But perhaps my favorite thing about him are the hilarious tax-time letters he sends out - this dude has a wicked sense of humor! His fees are very reasonable and he'll hold your hand if you need him to, which is perfect for a financial idiot like myself. Though I had many recommendations and referrals for other accountants, I chose to work with Rose because I chose to specifically support a woman and minority owned business. One piece of advice from Erin Benzakein from Floret about hiring a bookkeeper and accountant was that if you feel dumb or awful after meeting with either, then it's time for you to hire a new accountant/bookkeeper. I was having a hard time managing my own bookkeeping and was inquiring about this service. I met with Tara and she was condescending, defensive, and was gaslighting me when I started crying on the call after she went on a diatribe about the importance of bookkeeping. I also disagreed with her statement that "Bookkeeping is the backbone of your business." Unfortunately, Rose was also on the call and there wasn't any intervention. I would recommend Rose Brown only if you were just working with her and Darin, but would stay away if you are on a call with Tara.

Tax day passed and there was zero communication on the status of my taxes. Calls, texts and emails were ignored or pushed aside before this firm stopped responding altogether.
