I was fortunate enough to speak to Jonathan. After explaining what was going on, he brought out no less than 10 different shoes for me to try on. I'm looking forward to getting and wearing my new shoes, and I am confident that they are the best shoe for what is going on with my heel. Jonathan was amazing, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. However, you do not go here for what you can buy. You go here for the people. The gentleman we spoke with seems like your typical small town guy, but has so many stories. A man who is from this town and came back to it. If you want to know more about the history of the town, go here. Do not go to a museum, hear it from those who actually experienced it, lived it. This store is a prime example of big corporation takeover and the affects on smaller towns that are now struggling. Buy something not because you need it, but because you want to support those who have been left behind in this economy.

As I walked through this small, cozy store, I was taken aback by the variety of items for sale - more variety than sport! Juanita told me she had a bag of bargain white tee shirts in the back - all $1 and all 4X! She said she bought them from someone who assured her they were all different sizes. They were not. In hindsight, I should have bought one or more. You never know when you might want to be swallowed up in a soft extra large tee! She also has a lot of books, all reasonably priced. I wish that I had had more time to stay and chat with Juanita. She's the best part of this shop!

We complied and saw a young lady sitting on the porch across the street. She smiled big and waved! We pulled down the gravel road to what appeared to be an empty lot...However the owner, Alex, rounded the corner, stood on the bridge with a tattered hat, dark glasses and long white beard. I questioned if we were in the right place.......so I walked up to him and immediately he made my family and I feel right at home with engaging conversation, anecdotes, and explanations. Instead of explaining things directly to me, he sat down and took the time to explain things to my 8 year old son and held his attentional phenomenally.....while still explaining the process to all of us. Poles and bait were provided!!!!! Alex has an amazing way with kids and LOVES explaining things! My son caught 3 trout in under 15 minutes!!! A fish was on the line as soon as it hit the water!!! This really boosted my son's confidence in fishing! Alex took us into the cleaning trailer and gave my son a biology lesson while gutting the fish, talking about the heart, gills, spleen, liver, ect. My son is still talking about how amazing it was! We purchased the trout and tipped Alex for cleaning them for us! Needless to say, my 8 year old is walking tall knowing that he caught our dinner tonight. I had been searching for a hat for months prior to visiting this store. I had the hat for less than 24 hours when the leather strap came apart from the hat. I took the hat back to the store and the amazing employees helped me search the entire store for the same hat so that I could exchange the hat. When the employees determined that the type of hat I purchased was sold out, I wanted to return the hat completely because I didn't want to get stuck with the burden of paying someone else to fix the leather strap on the hat. I was very sad because I had literally fallen in love with this hat at first site and wanted the same exact hat without the defect. The employees heard me discussing this with my boyfriend and provided me a discounted rate on my new favorite hat that was defective. Needless to say they provided an excellent recovery. I left the store completely satisfied to say the least. The discount they provided will give me the difference it will cost to fix my favorite new hat! Thank you to a wonderful team. This was truly excellent customer service that will earn this establishment a lifetime customer that will generate more revenue over the longevity of my business because they did the right thing.
