On the Northeast side of the Plaza, directly across from the Templo de la Santa Cruz, sits a small unassuming tent. Inside the tent are a few plastic tables, plastic chairs, a single card table, a few coolers, and a beat up deep fryer.
The fryer is manned by a solitary lady, lovingly dipping fish and shrimp into a batter and then gently placing hem in the hot oil. Her young daughter of no more than 10 years old helps take orders and run food.
What's on the menu? Choices are fish tacos, shrimp tacos, or beef tacos.
These are hands down the best seafood tacos I have ever had...anywhere. The batter was crisp, light, and not in the very least oily. The fish is fresh, tender, and seasoned perfectly. They are served on fresh hand made tortillas and simply topped with crisp lettuce. On the tables, you will find containers of varied sauces ranging from mild avocado to lip scorching pasilla.
If I ever find myself anywhere near Bucerias again, this little taco tent will be on top of my list of places to eat. read more
