I had to cancel a grooming appointment due to an emergency with my dog, and was charged for cancellation fee. I tried to schedule my dogs to be groomed for months to over a year, and spoke with employees who took my name and phone number several times, but literally just never got a call back. They stated they were short on groomers and scheduling was super far out. I didn't appreciate the lack of communication or reaching out. I would say this place is NOT reliable at all. It's very difficult to schedule grooming. I was also supposed to be placed on a wait list for my new younger dogs to be groomed, but literally did not ever hear back about that. It is not possible to schedule grooming here if you don't already have an account. When I was finally able to schedule for my dog who has cancer, they did not notify me of any emergency cancellation fee that would need paid, so there were unexpected fees on top of the overpriced grooming... After this, I decided to stop going there permanently. I even have a gift card for a large sum of money to go there, but I refuse to use it because of how bad the service it and how damaging this situation has been trying to get my dogs groomed there. It is really just a small town pet grooming company that is completely incompetent, unreliable, over-priced, and doesn't work with their customers or communicate properly. I would NOT recommend. Lastly, for context I also wanted to mention that my elderly dog that I always brought there died over the summer and I was not able to get him groomed there before his death. With that hardship, it was quite a sad time and several months later we learned that our other elderly had terminal cancer. So, the dog I wanted to have groomed there currently was just diagnosed with a deadly form of cancer. I wanted to have her groomed since she is in the final stages of her life and we don't have much time left with her... I figured it would help her to feel more comfortable and also make us want to love on her even more if she was soft, shiny, and freshly cleaned. That's why this was even more disappointing and why I don't feel I can count on this company to take care of its community members.

That means their parents are kept in utter squalor, and are shot when they can't produce any more puppies. If that doesn't bother you, (hey some people are soulless!) the risk of adopting a puppy that has had no socialization, could have infections do to filthy conditions, and potential health issues do to improper breeding SHOULD terrify you. Also, these dogs are outrageously priced. A healthy dog from a reputable breeder can cost less than half the price of a Petland dog. You are just paying double for the ability to conveniently bundle a puppy home at first site, that day. Is it worth it? UMMMM NO!

AND... The other half of White's Mill is an eclectic gift shop leaning heavily into local authors, artists, and products. It is a go-to for nature books for all ages as well as local nonfiction and fiction authors. It has local pottery (art and function), jewelry (especially turquoise), and quirky kitchen instruments. Sneaky good selection of leather belts, recycled plastic woven rugs, even puzzles. So when you need that cool gift but need ideas, when you want to support local artists, when you just want to have fun discovering clever creations, walk in and turn right behind the front counter. Brian seems to be the brains of the company. If you ask him a question he will give you an answer. If he does not know, he will FIND the answer and get back to you. Their service is impeccable. Their live stock is admired by many people. Clean, helpful shop which you do NOT find in the box stores. Their salt water and fresh water is always clean. No dead fish and the tanks when one is near them, does NOT smell.
