White's Mill, located at a strategic location along the Hocking River for obvious historical…read morereasons, is really two practical things in one. It is a great place to visit in spring and early summer to get those onion bulbs and choose from shedloads of different seeds for flowers and plants. Not patient enough for seeds? You are in luck! They have flowers, vegetables and herbs with a head start. Even a place for fruit trees (and shouldn't we all be planting trees!). The staff has decades of experience helping you navigate timing, species choices, de-conflicting what you plant side by side etc. They also have soil choices (bags, not bulk) and garden tools, pots, and even canning supplies. AND... The other half of White's Mill is an eclectic gift shop leaning heavily into local authors, artists, and products. It is a go-to for nature books for all ages as well as local nonfiction and fiction authors. It has local pottery (art and function), jewelry (especially turquoise), and quirky kitchen instruments. Sneaky good selection of leather belts, recycled plastic woven rugs, even puzzles. So when you need that cool gift but need ideas, when you want to support local artists, when you just want to have fun discovering clever creations, walk in and turn right behind the front counter. So go to cultivate, both in your garden and your mind. Both will lower your blood pressure and bring a smile.

The Mill was built in 1809. We parked and enjoyed the lovely flowering plants outside and then went inside to check out the merchandise and the architecture of the old Mill structure. I recommend you dropping by if you are in the area!!

Great selection, great service…read more We came for an adoption event, though it was already over and almost all the animals were adopted. Looked around a bit (Baby K liked the hamsters and fish.) Got some training pads, then realized there were some clearance ones up front. Clerk was very friendly, and eagerly processed the return and got us on our way. Good to see a good pet supply store in Zanesville.

He does get matted in some places , we brush at least every day. I knew something was off the and they were very busy. I did tell Angela he had several matted area not large ones. And she said well we are just going to have to shave him down. No that's not her choice. My dog has long hair and she usually has no problem detangling him blowing him out and charging me the extra along with the tip I give her. Today she had an attitude from when we walked in. Then she said well do you just want to take him home? Well yes I do and I did! Like I would have let him be shaved down. She just did'nt want to deal with him. She knew he was on her schedule if she didn't want to do him she should have cancelled, but now we wont be back. And its hard to tell with her attitude how she would have treat him. Toby is only 8 months old and has been a regular. We have already found somewhere else. If she is unhappy with her job and taken care of peoples pet she should find another career. PS she has also told me in the past I wish all dog parents were like you.
