The balance was checked with the gift card on the red lobster app and it showed $100 before giving it to the employee named Chris. It was about 15-20 minutes Chris came back and said only $9 is on the gift card. He said his manager tried and said only $9. No way possible when we just checked the balance. My sister was then questioned by Chris "are you sure there was $100." She showed him. It showed redemption on 10/5/26 $90.98 on the red lobster app. Chris proceeded to say nothing they can do. She had to pay with her debit card with $84 and then they took the rest $9 off the gift card. Which makes no sense since the bill total was only $93 to begin with. By this point I felt something suspicious was happening. As being a General Manager, and holding other positions held in hospitality management, I myself always dealt with the guest and I would fix the issue before they would leave our facility. None of this happened here. It was very poor customer service on the way this situation was handled.
