Before I point out a few negative things I would like to say there are some people at this facility…read morethat were kind, considerate and respectful! There were others that just wanted to collect a paycheck, they did not care for the people in their care unless they knew someone was watching them. I went to this site everyday for 2 months while my father was in hospice. They rarely cleaned the floor to the point I complained to management, management made excuses instead of addressing the issue. I witnessed a woman fall out of her chair and land on her face, they picked her up and put her at the table for dinner. I now know such a fall would be called a trauma silver and someone should of done a full head to toe inspection of her body, they did nothing while the woman cried while trying to eat. Many meals barely had any protein on the plate and most meals were cold. There were other issues.

The ladies are all amazing and nice, very understanding of schedules and the fact we can create our own schedule is great. I need two full time jobs and this place allows me to work a full time position while working another full time job. The training was great and they seem to really care about their workers. I would choose BrightStar care any day and every day! They don't make it a big issue if you call in sick and check in on you to see how you're feeling. **UPDATE - NOT REMOVAL**…read more If I could give NEGATIVE STARS, I would. I came here to recover after surgery. Healthy medical recovery may not be possible here. Within minutes of arriving, I wanted to leave. The place is a typical, dump-like nursing home that you see on "Dateline Investigates." The place is dirty and needs a lot of repairs. It seems like this place has been neglected for long time. It's 81 outside and the A/C is not working properly. My call light has wires exposed (See photo). If I would not have been in so much pain, I would have taken pictures of several other safety concerns. My intake was done on the other guy in the room that arrived earlier in the day. All his trauma and notes are being entered into my file. HIPPA, anyone? When I left the hospital, my pain was controlled at a 6/10. Due to their evening/overnight staff's lack of concern or respect, my pain kept increasing throughout the night. I had to plead for my medication AND THE FULL DOSE. When I asked for more ice packs, I got one disposable pack that was supposed to cover both my back and ribs. I would ask for more and get lectured out by the male staff who is wearing a zipped up winter jacket with the hood up. When the Social Worker came in, I let her know my thoughts and feelings about the situation. When I shared this post, they were shocked and started to try to make things right. Between my roommate keeping his TV and lights ON ALL NIGHT and the overnight staff YELLING at the guy in the room next to me to stop peeing in the hall and waling up and down the hall with no pants, I did not sleep at all! In the morning I called my surgeon and advised them of my situation, my pain was now at 10/10! I was told to call 911 and be brought back and admitted through the ER. It is sad that the only way I was able to get the care I needed was to call 911. What makes my heart sink even more, is that BOTH Paramedics told me how much they hate coming out to Villa locations. They shared that this is not the first time something like this has happened. THANK YOU Villas for setting my recovery back days to weeks! They asked me to remove this post. If they can make great strides and show me they can do better, then I will consider updating or removing this post. But, due to their negligence and abuse, I will keep this post up (and possible more) The moral of the story: The Villas at St. Paul is NOT a place to go to recover, it is a place you go TO DIE!

He regularly has to go back to Region's Hospital in St Paul, which is only about a mile away. He started with having to use a Hoyer Lift (he couldn't stand up on his own), but by the time he was discharged he could actually walk (with assistance) to the bathroom (which is amazing, and we never would have thought the rehabilitation could be so good). Whew! Well done, Galtier--a VERY caring staff!

The bare minimum seems to be the bar based on our experience with some nurses and nursing assistants. I would never recommend this hospital and wish I could give 0 stars for my family's experience. Don't send your loved ones here alone, make sure to advocate for yourself and others. Apparently causing distress, confusion, and anxiety are what they strive for at St John's because they don't take patient needs seriously if they don't think it's important themselves. Appalling behavior by so called healthcare professionals!

My mother recently spent 3 weeks in the transitional care facility at Lyngblomsten. With some…read moreexceptions, it was not a good experience for her. She had some complicated chronic medical conditions, and there was little attempt to coordinate with providers who had an understanding of particular treatments that were important to provide. They made mistakes that could have been, should have been avoided, with better coordination. She needed intensive physical therapy, she got very little, with little explanation of why. Quality of staffing was variable, with some at times seeming negligent and at other times competent. She was glad when we discovered that her assisted living facility where she had been living prior to a hospitalization could provide better services than she received at Lyngblomsten.
