I'm sad at the food today. First Watch mostly gets 4 or 5 stars but today the new food items that everyone rave about was disappointing. My Hubs were offered to try the new juice wirh watermelon just to be told they were out. My sweet tea was very surprisingly NOT sweet. We got the honey biscuits for an appetizer. They were not out the oven hot. The biscuits were too hard for my liking. The Hubs loved the blueberry jelly and decided to not send them back. I ordered the million dollar sandwich. WARNING, the sandwich doesn't have the million dollar bacon on it....bummer. It was ok, the English muffin wasn't toasted enough. My Hubs ordered the Banana Brittle French toast and loved it! I ordered from the Holiday Menu and tried the Double Bacon Parmesan Hash! I sat at the bar for faster service. The dish was delicious! I was disappointed my server didn't bring me any silverware. Unfortunately if you want great service this is not the place to go. But, the food is pretty consistent. I wanted to add a takeout item for my neighbors. Nope, won't be back. I hate writing bad reviews but I have to share my experience here. Let's start with the fact I was seated and forgotten. Not for 5 minutes, not for 10 minutes... but for 15 minutes. Everyone around me being seated after me, got their orders taken and I was ignored. I tried to flag waiters a couple of times but they were so far in their heads to even acknowledge me. No awareness of other patrons, just dialed in to their own affairs. It was weird so I kept my timer going telling myself at 15 minutes I would just get up and leave. My waiter did come and asked "have you been helped yet?" At that point I just ordered. My food came out quickly. Avocado toast and egg whites. Loads of avocados on wheat bread. Simple egg whites at the side. The problem was the browning of the avocados. So many avocado bits were visibly browned - how could the kitchen send that eyesore out. Is it me? Do people like eating browning avocados? At a restaurant? For a dish that's $13.79?! I could buy two bags of fresh avocados for that price! I was just disappointed. Should I send it back? Wait another 15 mins for someone to come back around and possibly bring me something worse? I just scraped off the rotten parts like I would do at home and at it the best I could. Herein lays the problem with why I can't bring myself to visit these types of restaurants. The waitstaff is distracted, undertrained, the move quick and the goal isn't to give you a good experience, it's to get you in and out. Forgetting a patron could have been solved with a smile, addressing the issue and taking ownership, none of that was done. A friendly environment where staff is cordial and work as a team to make sire their clientele is happy, not just at their table but all tables. Scan the restaurant, make sure people have waters (I never got a water), make sure they don't have needs... is that too much to ask for? The food is mediocre at best. I get it, this is First Watch not Le Jardinier, but let's be real. People are leaving their homes to dine in your establishment, make it worth it. Make it better than what they can make at home with their eyes closed. Serve fresh produce and ingredients. We eat with our eyes first. Visibly rotting food is appealing, it doesn't matter how much you piled on the plate. Respect your consumers! This restaurant must have a clientele that keeps coming back, and that is probably what they are riding on for now but the reality is - in this economy, if they don't plan to rise to the occasion it will be just another breakfast spot that everyone with sense in the community avoids. You have the whole Sienna locked in behind you, this place should be packed but we are driving past you to find better. Management needs to buckle down and get this back on track before it ends in calamity because no one wants to pay for food they can make better in their kitchens and be treated like fools because we entertained the thought of eating outside. read more

My family and I love First Watch as a go-to breakfast place. Service is already friendly and every location we have visited is clean and well kept. If we don't feel like dining in then we grab it to-go and the food is just as good. My kiddo loves the massive pancakes, my husband loves the power bowls and my favorite is the power wrap (I end up getting two meals out of it as well) . The kale tonics are amazing. It was packed on Sunday morning. Busy and nice inside. Food was fine, nothing exclusive. Tried their new limited addition breakfast sandwich THE B.E.C., which is supposed to be in a sourdough bread but I was served with regular bread and very crisp one that it was hard to bite. It was never asked if any sides are needed and I got the side of fried potatoes, I asked to please swap with some small veggies and they got some greens with no dressing at all. At this stage I didn't want to ask anything. Soup i asked was not tomato basil and I made it clear but was served exactly what I made clear u don't want. So nothing much to say. Been going to this location since the day it opened, at least two or three times a month.. As always, the food and the staff are excellent. Today was even more special. The young lady who tended to me, Lizbeth surprise me in a lovely way. Before I even got a chance to say good morning. She already had brought me my pot of decaf. She remembered that decaf is all I drink. Also, she remembered that the only two things I ever ordered are the avocado toast or the eggs Benedict. Thanks to her suggestion today. I had the chipotle hash bowl and it was unbelievable. She also remembered I cannot eat raw onions. Being a senior citizen, I assure you this kind of service and dedication is seen very few and far between. I had a great experience at First Watch. Previous reviews comment on bad service, but we found the waitress that we had to be attentive. They did at one point forget to bring a drink for us. We did visit on a weekday brunch however so they were not all that busy. They have plenty of vegetarian options and you can easily customize items, however the vegetarian options are not clearly labeled. We got the market hash with scrambled eggs on the side and the AM superfoods bowl. Everything was delicious. The market hash came with a mix of well-seasoned potatoes along with cheese and veggies. The AM superfoods bowl came with a yogurt chia mix with granola and fruit. The two items were a good mix of savory and sweet. There is plenty of parking as the restaurant is in a very large plaza. I've always been an advocate for breakfast food, and I always go over the top when I cook breakfast at home. First Watch definitely delivered on my breakfast itch. This is a brand-new location, and we Sienna folks have been waiting for it ever since there were signs of it on the way. When I arrived, parking was pretty scarce if you were trying to get directly in front or near the entrance, so just be prepared for that. Luckily, I managed to get a spot right in front. The wait staff was out front holding the doors open for incoming customers. I thought that was a simple yet thoughtful gesture. It gives you the vibe that you're walking into a place with great customer service. And wow, did it ever. I grabbed a seat at the bar because it was crowded, but because of that, I was able to sit down immediately. My server was really nice. I believe I overheard that he left his job as a doctor to work here... WOW. He was super friendly, accommodating, and offered great recommendations. I got the French toast, cheese eggs, pork sausage, Million Dollar Bacon (more on this in a bit), ham, and Million Dollar Potatoes, along with a mimosa. Here's my mini-review of each item: French Toast was delightful. Not too sweet but definitely a good eat. Cheese Eggs were tasty. Fluffy, cooked just how I liked them, and had great presentation. Pork Sausage was just OK. Nothing to write home about. I think I would ask for it to be well done next time. Million Dollar Bacon was a hit. It's sweet maple bacon with black pepper and cayenne for a kick. IT. WAS. GOOD. Highly recommend. Million Dollar Potatoes were also good. It's potatoes, roasted sweet potatoes, creamy mushrooms, kale, melty cheese, crispy pieces of Million Dollar Bacon, and probably some other stuff. Just try it. TRUST ME, BRO. Lol. Mimosa was very balanced. I enjoyed it very much. The customer service was amazing. The staff was very attentive, friendly, and checked on me frequently. A cool story that happened while I was here: The owner of the locally famous Southern cuisine restaurant Micheaux's ended up sitting right next to me at the bar. I've already been there a bunch of times and always enjoy their food. Well, he talked to me about my recommendations for what to eat at First Watch and expressed how he always wanted to support local businesses. At some point during our conversation, he asked my server for my check and PAID FOR MY WHOLE MEAL! I thought that was super awesome, and it really made my experience here just that much better. (+) The food was tasty. We ordered an eggs benedict, roast beef sandwich, and a skillet hash. Portions corresponded with the price. (+) Interior was very new and well-lit. (-) Our server, while very cordial and polite in the beginning, basically ghosted us after leaving the bill at our table. Later, we found her chatting it up with several other coworkers at the front door, which led us to wait over 10 minutes to pay/get boxes. As we later found out, you pay at the front, but it would have been helpful if that was communicated to us as the bill was dropped off (first time here). We tried to get someone else to help us, but there were workers walking by, clearly pretending like they couldn't see us. (-) We were seated right by the restrooms, behind a half-wall, which made it even more difficult to flag someone down. This wouldn't have been a problem if our server was more attentive. (-) The workers up front were too busy chatting with each other (one was half wiping the windows) to take our payment. One girl was behind the counter, clearly flustered trying to help everyone in line trying to pay. Eventually, a manager came who was also clueless and was not able to help check how much was remaining on our gift card. He told us to call Corporate. We weren't given a receipt, so we had to ask if we had to sign a merchant copy to add a tip, but no one could be bothered to figure out how to do that for us, and then they proceeded to help the next person in line. And so we just walked away. Despite being seated in an awkward place, our server was initially very attentive and helpful. The food was good and we were enjoying our visit, but the service could use some serious improvements, starting from the top. Better training, better work ethic, all of it. Can't justify paying these steep brunch prices if it's the service that's going to leave a sour taste in your mouth. I've been to a few First Watch diners. This is the first one that no one at our table enjoyed their food or drink. The coffee was thick, strong, and old. We asked for fresh and was brought more old. For almost $4 a cup..... One diner at our table ordered the meat lovers omelette. Instead of lots of meat (male diner - he wants lots of meat always) , he was given a load of onions and very little meat. I ordered the chiorozo omelette which was supposed to have cheese. I saw a sprinkle, probably a teaspoon of cheddar, at the bottom. all the ingredients were piled in the middle and not distributed evenly. The potatoes are always good as is the toast. I like the size of the water glasses and our server was so sweet and polite. It must have just been this location because I have been to many First Watch diners in a few places and this is the first one that sucked. read more

I'm happy to have a closer First Watch location now that Sienna is open! It was surprisingly busy for a late Thursday morning but we were seated immediately. The interior is a bit nicer than the other Sugar Land location I've been to, and the ceiling had Edison bulb lights suspended from faux stamped tiles. The service was very friendly from the front of house to the servers, and our food came out pretty quickly! As for the food, three words. Lemon ricotta pancakes. Our server was spot on when she said they were popular and GOOD. The pancakes were warm, fluffy, and not too sweet. The lemon curd was custardy and tart, and the strawberries were a perfect addition. It didn't even need the maple syrup, but if that's your thing, the bottle of syrup was brought to the table warm. Hours later, I'm still thinking about these pancakes and the next time I'll have them. We also ordered a kids meal with scrambled egg, apple chicken sausage patty, toast, and mixed fruit. The pineapple and strawberries were nice and ripe. Grapes and blueberries not so much. The chicken sausage was a little too sweet and gristly and I'd opt for bacon next time. I was expecting their usual whole grain toast on the side, so the white bread toast was a bit of a let down, but it makes sense for the kids. The kids meal also comes with a drink, but the orange juice I got was not it. It sounds weird but it tasted like sour play-doh. It was definitely fresh squeezed but those were not good oranges. Lastly, we had the breakfast tacos, which were fine but nothing to write home about. Three tacos served with soupy black beans. A drizzle of some sauce, maybe some cilantro cream, would level it up. FYI, the area can sometimes be a dead zone for internet and phone service, so if you have a coupon or anything like that on your phone, make sure to screenshot it ahead of time. We could not be more excited to have First Watch at the front of our neighborhood. We've been there every weekend since they opened last year, and each experience has delivered timely service of food once seated and the consistently delicious food you expect at First Watch. The franchise in general is doing a top notch job delivering good food that tastes the same and looks the same at their various locations- a simple but challenging feat not many restaurants pull off. Order the elevated breakfast sandwich, banana walnut pancakes and chickichanga.. it's our regular order, and we always leave very happy. Given the popularity, it may feel a little small in there- but it's a good sized restaurant with bar service and outdoor seating. Lauren was AMAZING!! Good service is unfortunately hard to come by nowadays but she went over and above and no ask was too big for her. Her personality was great and her smile was infectious. Especially with us being a larger party, we were all thoroughly impressed. Everyone made comments throughout the meal and even after we left about how great she was. The food came out quickly and everything was accurate. I tried the spiked lavender lemonade and it was amazing so I had no choice but to order another one. There was ample parking given its in a larger shopping strip. There also seemed to be a good bit of seating for while you're waiting for your table to be ready. This was probably the largest First Watch I've been to and to say they've only been open for a couple of weeks, we were all impressed by how well everything was moving. The team seemed to be working together well and like they were truly a family. Definitely give First Watch a try! Quick service, casual atmosphere, great food, great drinks, and awesome staff! We were excited to come back before flying out after a solid experience early in our trip and sat in a nearly empty restaurant for 20 minutes without being acknowledged despite seeing plenty of servers and even a manager help other guests who came in after us. My husband chose this brunch spot based on his memory of a great experience at a First Watch in another state. Did this location live up to the hype? Unfortunately not. Since they do not take reservations, I woke up bright and early at 7:30am to get on the waitlist since we had a fairly large group (12ppl). The woman I spoke to confirmed that a table by the door would be ready for our group. We arrived and surprise surprise, the table wasn't ready (-____-). Not only that, we kept asking for a timeline and they kept saying (oh, just 10 more mins)(oh just 15 more mins) and some of our family ended up leaving at that point because they were tired of waiting. I completely understand that it's a fairly new restaurant in a new area and it's poppin', but come on... be realistic. We had very young kids with us and sticking to schedules is everything. Well, lets move on past that... we finally get seated and our server was nice, albeit a little clueless. We placed our orders promptly, got drinks out... things are going smoothly! Maybe this will turn the experience around! Food comes out, two of us girls had the same dish and they didn't know which one didn't have onions (if this was an allergy, it would've been more of a concern, but I digress). *Most* of us got our food- except my cousin who ordered the million dollar bacon, who also waited a million minutes to get it!! Okay I'm exaggerating but come on- this was an appetizer order! Why did it only come out after we tabbed out and got our to-go boxes??? Now to the star part of the whole experience... my cousin who had toast with his order... received a piece of toast... with a whole bite taken out of the center! It's a perfectly triangle piece of toast... with a perfect semi-circle bite size chunk missing smack dab in the center. After we shuddered and got over the initial disgust, we called it to the attention of our server. He quickly said "i'll replace the toast" to which we responded.. ummm no we need a whole new plate if someone bit off of this and it was placed back on the plate? I'm sorry, i'm a nurse, and can envision the germs on there, and that is DISGUSTING. I don't want someone else's mouth germs on my plate, IDK where they put their mouth! The server proceeded to take the whole plate to the kitchen, and came back stating "The kitchen said that piece just 'fell off' and that no one bit it" and they replaced the toast. Mm-mm, no sir. That was the final straw. Skip this place. Drive a little further to find a better spot. Overhyped, underdelivered. read more
