I exchanged the waffle for French toast and had an order of bacon and a scrambled egg. My husband had the biscuits and gravy and one friend had the breakfast tacos. The server was attentive and brought a replacement order of white toast to replace a multi grain order that one of our table couldn't eat because of the seeds. I think I'm a fan of First Watch Champions Gate! Went in for a quick lunch and chose the Choose 2 lunch special-a steal at under $8. I chose the Chicken Kale Salad and Roast Beef on grilled Parmesan Sourdough bread. The salad was fresh and crisp and just the right size as was the half sandwich that accompanied it. The grilled Parmesan bread was fantastic grilled perfectly and kept what could be bland interesting. The service was impeccable and my server checked repeatedly to see if I needed anything and quickly brought the check so I could get to a meeting. You pay up front before you leave. The waitress was attentive, and informational . They will make adjustments to the food items if you ask . The Elevated Egg Sandwich on a brioche bun with cheese ,avocado and bacon was delicious. They give small potatoes as the side they do have onions and you can't make adjustments with that . Also I suggest ordering the side order of bacon , it's loaded with syrup and pepper . Yummy !! I was super excited to get a new breakfast place near our home. We had previously been to the First Watch on Sand Lake and enjoyed it. However, having now been to this location several times I've decided it is good, but not outstanding. First, it has been packed every time we have been. The Sand Lake location allowed us to use the Yelp App to put our name on the list in advance. Alas, this location does not yet have this capability. I think if I download the First Watch app then maybe I can secure my place in line, but I don't think we come enough to warrant an entire app just for this restaurant. The good news is that we've always been seated quicker than they originally tell us and I think it has a lot to do with us being a party of two. They don't have many tables for big parties and there always same to be lots of big parties and few parties of two. The atmosphere here is really good. It is kind of industrial. It definitely has a loft vibe going on, which is neat. The restaurant is fairly small though, which again can lead to some pretty extensive waits, especially on the weekends. The menu here is very hipster. They put avocado on everything! I'm seriously surprised that the place does so well in Davenport, but we do have more and more younger people moving into the area and quite a few tourists. My dad and other older folks would gawk at the prices, and would hate the food, but that's why they have Bob Evans, to each their own. Speaking of the food, they put avocado on lots of stuff. I hate avocado, so I just ask for it without. Unfortunately, my breakfast tacos were pretty bland. I guess I needed that avocado. I drenched them in hot sauce to make them decent, but the tortilla may have been the blandest thing I ever put in my mouth and they seriously needed more chorizo. The lack of meat is an issue for both me and my husband here. He ordered the trifecta and it comes with 1 tiny sausage link. We ordered a side of sausage gravy and the sausage was impossible to find. We ordered the millionaire's bacon, thinking that would bring us the meat we were lacking, but it was saccharin sweet. So why do we come back? The griddle items are what keeps us coming back. The pancakes and waffles here are top notch. I can't recommend anything else here, but man the pancakes and waffles are awesome. Over the holidays we had cinnamon chip pancakes that were out of this world. I really like the banana granola pancakes and the waffles are just the perfect consistency. We have figured out that ordering a griddle item with a side of bacon is the way to go. Service has been inconsistent. Last time we were here, our server was slow and beyond inattentive. However, we've also had amazing service too, so it just depends on the day and time. KALE TONIC. That was the highlight for me from this place besides the delicious brunch food, clean environment and great service! At first when my friend recommended we go here, I was like great, another probably basic brunch diner place. Instead, I was blown away by the choices, the cleanliness/healthy conscious creations they have on their menu. It was surprisingly not your average brunch place. Our server Erin was super attentive and offered amazing recommendations. I had a little hiccup with my dish but she was very customer-centric and catered to our needs. I ordered this egg frittata with toast and fruits. It was fresh, the toast was CUT and prepared with this sweet spread that made me want more. The potatoes were not soggy, you can taste the freshness in the avocados too, no brownness. I loved it here. My friend ordered the Chickichanga, which had a crispy tortilla with eggs and chicken stuffed inside, smothered with a cheese sauce. He had an OJ, fresh squeezed, and to this day, I'm still dreaming about that Kale Tonic. It was not too sweet, but the apples was definitely sweet and tart enough. You can taste the healthiness in the juice and I felt energized and detoxed after a long day eating around EPCOT. And the price, $3.99 for a cold pressed juice?! How is that possible? Coming from LA/OC and Chicago, $3.99 is probably only getting you a Coke or an Americano. The next day, we actually were so tired to look for another place that we came back but it was PACKED and the wait was going to be an hour long.
