I'm sure repairs must go thru landlords and West End has to take the heat. My properties, which are few, are in great shape and I live next door and make sure things are taken care of right away, if possible. Renting is not like living with mom. West End seems to do the best they can in the circumstances they have.

The realtors in the past were more experienced and knowledgeable. We had a choice of inspectors. Oddly, we weren't given a choice - and just used a network of the agent. This was our mistake and it will never happen again. To fix the house completely would cost too much money and we've spoken with lawyers. We're doing what we can over time to at least mitigate the more major issues. We made it clear we wanted a house that required minimal work. We got a house that requires too much work and too much money to pour into it. We will take a hit when we sell it despite the changes to it. Some of the issues just weren't seen by the inspector that should've been spotted and identified. Some "issues" noted were bogus. The inspection report was ridiculous. Some things can be excused (obviously) but the big ticket issues cannot be. A year later and we're still seeing old/hidden issues. Yes, caveat emptor and there should be limits to this but as buyers, we learned we have little to no protection against sellers and this includes the disclosure statement. With this house, it seems fairly useless (we've checked with lawyers).
