The waitress will promptly take your order and drink. Your food comes out very fast after ordering. Otherwise, the food itself was good. Other than that, the french toast was smaller than expected. Overall experience was good but I personally would not stop again.

We (me, and my 2 teenage sons) had coffee and 3 meals. The meat lovers bowl was perfectly savory and delicious and the s'moreo crepes were right up there with dessert for breakfast! I drove through Merrill, WI after getting a speeding ticket on 51 (which is the only reason to…read morevisit Merrill, WI but at least the courthouse is easy to find) and passed this diner. It looked like it had been abandoned since the 1970s, and as someone who loves reliving my childhood memories, I peeked in the windows. Imagine my surprise to find out it was still open for business, just closed at that time. I made it a point to come back when they were open. Not only does the aesthetic and decor date back to the 1970s, so do the menu and prices. They had a special, eggs and toast for under $3. Where can you find that any more? The menu was surprisingly thorough, they had some fancier options like eggs benedict, which I tried. And they did have WiFi, although I couldnt get it to work. I decided to try multiple things, so I got steak & eggs, eggs benedict, and corned beef hash. With coffee my total was still under $15. The steak was by far the best thing I tried. I asked for it pink, and it came closer to well done, but it was so tender and well flavored that I didnt mind. The eggs benedict was also very good, the sauce homemade and the ham thick cut. The corned beef has was my least favorite, it was comparably dry. One of the owners was the only employee working outside the kitchen and she was very friendly. I dont know why I would ever go back to Merrill, WI, but if I do, and it is before 2pm, I will stop back.

The place is usually very busy in the morning, we waited for about 10 minutes, maybe less for a table. Upon sitting, we were greeted promptly by a friendly waitress. I ordered the maple cinnamon iced latte, which was decent. The avocado toast plate was fantastic, but spicy. The smoked salmon tasted like it had been brought out of a cold package and warmed up in the microwave. If you bring the food down to what it actually is, it is impressive that they can make such bland food look beautiful. It seemed like they didn't care much about the presentation of the waffle.. almost as if people ordering waffles are inferior to people ordering avocado toast lol.. Overall, presentation was very inconsistent between the four plates at our table, but if you're not one who cares about that, then all you need to know was that the food was really good! BB's Bloody Mary's were to die for! Overall nice, clean, modern breakfast diner. Never heard of it until my family brought me here. More advertising would benefit this place!

My Reuben had just the right mix of lean corned beef and sauerkraut. Real thousand island dressing came on the side, which is my preference. Portions are big here and the slices of rye were quite thick but surprisingly not overfilling. It was a very, very good sandwich and the homemade chips made it a great lunch entree. The cinnamon roll French toast also gets a good review for being tasty and the fruit bowl offered a good selection. The noise level was average and our dining experience memorable.
