It was a life-time experience, but he continued to plan and build his practice from the ground and dreams up. He began in Feb. 1994 between tours, treating patients in a small building in Sissonville, WV but the birth of Worldwide Chiropractic took a more distinct shape in Oct. 1996, when the office found a new home in a new building. As things continued to grow, Dr. Thaxton added additional staff with specialties in Sports Medicine, and an additional office was opened in July 1998 in Ripley, WV (closed March 2014). Since then, the practice and staff have continued to grow, serving patient's from the local area, but also with patients extending statewide and across state boundaries as patients continue to learn of the practice we find more patients traveling more than 2 hours each way to be treated by Dr. Thaxton and his staff.

Jessie was assigned to work with me; he was great and helped my recovery without surgery. I could not have asked for better care and treatment. In December 2022, I had a frozen left shoulder, but the scar tissue was so bad I had to undergo shoulder manipulation to break up the scar tissue. I had the procedure on December 27, 2022 and started physical therapy that afternoon at the Saint Albans location. I live in Saint Albans, so I opted to go there since I work from home. Allie worked with me for most of my visits; Tyler performed dry needling to assist with the knots in my muscles. The employees who work there seem to really care about their patients, but I cannot say the same for the owners. The employees are always working with more than one patient at the same time, sometimes it is three or four patients at the same time. I feel this is a disservice to those who need extra care or one on one attention, particularly older patients. Most days I would forgo the tens unit and heating pad because I knew Allie was working with other patients. The owners seem to care more about money than the patients who come there for treatment. I don't know if it is legal, but they are billing for multiple patients at a time. I don't think they can give each patient quality care when they are working with multiple patients at a time. I sought out massage therapy outside FSPT because some of my range of motion was not getting better because my muscles were so tight. Massage therapy made a significant difference, but I should not have to go elsewhere for massage therapy. I should have been able to have massage therapy during my physical therapy. If the owners would hire adequate staff to work with the number of patients they have scheduled and not double, triple, or quadruple book, then patients would get the care they deserve. I will not return to FPST if I require physical therapy again. They have a great staff, but they are overworked. I have been going to physical therapy three times a week since December 2022. I also think it is unprofessional for the regional manager to come out of his office and converse with the staff, not work related, while they are working with patients; the staff should be focused on their patients. The Saint Albans location could be great if the owners cared more and hired enough staff to work with the number of patients they have scheduled, instead of their employees working with three or more people at a time.

They told me what exercises to do and they stayed right there with me. They didn't go to another patient while I was exercising. When I was done with exercises, there was massage of the area, ice and EMS. My problem was solved in a few weeks. It was such a good experience and the staff was so nice, I decided to go there again when I had my knee replaced. My knee replacement was extremely hard. The pain was absolutely excruciating. They helped me get through the pain and get my knee in working order in six weeks! Again, they were right there with me guiding and encouraging me through the exercises. Poor Tanner, I actually cried on him while trying to step up on a set of stairs. He immediately had me stop. He gave me some water, calmed me down, and let me rest while talking to me about the pain. He told me we would do the steps another day and we went on with the other exercises. This, right here, is why I will always go to FSPT. The staff is absolutely wonderful. Tanner and Jordan (the director) are both terrific people. If I ever need PT again, I'll be going to FSPT in Teays Valley. I tell all my friends how great they are :)
