Great staff Not as community focused as it was when it was MB&T. Seems to be focused on sales more than people.

Be warned. Do not use this bank for a car loan. If I knew how to start a class action suit, I…read morewould. For six months I made my payment and paid extra to go toward the principal, ( allowed under my contract). Every month I had to call and personally have an agent take my payment as their web site will not let you add extra money even though there is a spot for it. The sixth month again I have to call because now my October payment is half of what it should be. I requested that she put the principal where it should go and I need to make my regular payment. She would not take it. She informed me that I had to make the smaller payment and it would be adjusted the following month. I told her that made NO sense and I did not want my credit damaged. It did not matter. Before you know it I am bombarded with calls from India saying they were from the bank and before they could talk to me I needed to give them my address and the last four of my SS#. Of course I thought it was a scam. Then, on a Saturday after the bank closed, I got an email to call them if I was having financial problems. What??? Finally, Monday morning a dun comes in the mail with a $15 late fee. I was so angry I asked my husband to go to the bank and get a certified check for the exact amount they showed on their web site that was my pay off. When I closed my account out in one of their branches, the cashier and manager assured me I was paid in full, gave me a receipt and I left. Nope, this bank then charged me another $46 dollars. DO NOT BANK THERE!!! Seriously, if anyone ever hears of a civil suit, please let me know. I will be the first in line! God bless!

I received a business check from one of Fifth Third Bank's business customers today and took the…read morecheck into the bank to cash it. I presented the check to the teller with my driver's license and even offered my thumb print. The supervisor said the bank first needed to create a "profile" of me before cashing the check. She asked for my social security number, which I offered, but then said Fifth Third Bank would charge me $32 to cash their own check! Of course, this was all a ploy to get me to open an account with their bank, which they tried to do saying that if I opened an account there would be no fee. Like that will ever happen. I know it was cold outside today, but that is no excuse for Fifth Third to be putting their hands in my pockets! It is simply unethical to cooerce people into joining their cabal by charging them for not joining. Refusing to cash their own check without such an exorbitant fee is shameful. I walked. I can only imagine what other schemes Fifth Third Bank practices to nickel and dime their customers. There are lots of banks who don't try to screw over average people. I plan to look elsewhere for my banking needs. You would be well served to do likewise. Good luck.

Hands down the absolute WORST bank I've ever dealt with. The only competent people they ever had…read morehave retired and now you are dealing with probably people who are being paid minimum wage and have NO IDEA what they are doing. Over the years, they have screwed up my mortgage (quoted me an interest rate when we refinanced and then when we showed up for closing, it was full interest rate higher) and I walked out and called the President or whatever he was of Fifth Third and he fixed it. Had excellent credit so could have gone anywhere. Then they gave us a home equity line of credit ON A HOUSE WE DIDN'T EVEN OWN ANYMORE. Our prior house! Now.....they have screwed up my IRA. When I rolled it over into their bank after I retired, I only did so because the VP at the time was very sharp and knew what she was doing. I have NO checking or SAVINGS there for a reason. Now, all they have are a bunch of flunkies who have NO IDEA what they are doing. Like every other business, the CEO's are making the big money and they are hiring minimum wage people. I set up my IRA with them when I retired in 2015, and figured I'd better check to make sure my beneficiary form is right because my copy is not signed or dated. Well, they HAD NO RECORD OF THIS FORM WHATSOEVER. I went today....they checked...NOPE DIDN'T HAVE IT. The guy who I talked to today argued with me whether Michigan is a community property state! NEWSFLASH! IT'S NOT. I can make anyone I want my beneficiary. He asked what my marital status is....which DOESN'T EVEN MATTER IN MICHIGAN. I had to fill out a NEW BENEFICIARY FORM, he said the one I had was outdated. I made the guy Google whether Michigan is a community property state before I left! He didn't even know this. Don't you think a bank should know? I asked him if I would get something in the mail reminding me when I have to take mandatory distributions. He said no. Today, I was told by the "manager" yes, I would. I cannot explain just how incompetent this bank is and if it were easy to do, I'd roll my IRA into my credit union but seems like they want me to talk to a "finance manager" first. When I am smarter than a bank manager, it's time for me to go elsewhere. RUN....don't walk from this bank.
