I'll preface all of the following with this warning: This is my OPINION, and for something like this it's highly advised you do your homework and not go off of reviews on Yelp, Google or any other thing. Make your own opinions. This isn't a dry cleaner or a restaurant...this is something you need to decide on your own. I can at least tell you my business so you understand what you are walking into at a very high level. The office is very clean and nice and I found the front office staff EXTREMELY kind and welcoming. That's extremely important here as it sets the tone for the appointment. If it is your very first visit you'll more than likely be asked to do a drug screen, which I appreciated because it does tell you they take precautions and are pretty responsible not to give anything to someone who is there with ulterior motives. My nurse was actually someone new to the practice who was doing her clinical training so we swapped stories and she took me back to see Ms. Donald who is the NP here. A little thing about NPs....I've seen some folks rag on NPs, and I don't understand why. While they may not be MDs, they are trained to do most everything except surgical stuff. My primary care doc is an NP in a practice with an MD, just like here. She prescribes things and diagnoses stuff just like her MD counterpart and I've never went "You can't do that because you aren't an MD" because she's more than qualified. It's a bit of a peeve to see people who should have done their homework act rude because Donald is a NP and gripe that she's not an MD. Guess what...NPs are medical professionals too. Do your homework though and know everything ahead of time. I already knew she was licensed and I did my leg work ahead of time. When I walked into her office she greeted me warmly and we talked about my issues. Without going all up in it, I have issues with anxiety and sleep and I tend to try and "do it on my own" instead of seeking help, which is never cool. You shouldn't be ashamed by the way to seek help. She was professional and kind and, more importantly, she helped. Nothing was pushed on me. Nothing was shady. I left knowing that i had been heard. When I was checking out the front desk ladies told me about Frisco Pharmacy which is right down the road. I had mentioned that the Walgreens I go to always seems to be out of everything and they let me know that Frisco Pharmacy usually has everything they prescribe and that they can have it ready in 10 minutes, as that is a selling point the pharmacy has printed on all it's promo material. I appreciate that they call and ask if it's in stock so that I know in the office if my meds are ready. Overall, I'm happy that I chose this practice. Are there places that will prescribe anything? Absolutely. I've got firsthand knowledge of those and let me tell you and they've been in affluent areas with an MD so don't think I don't know what to look for. I'm leaving this review so that you can see that a real person went here though. My experience might not be like yours but at least you see what you are getting into. Don't be scared to ask for help. I promise it's better than suffering through whatever you are going through.

Sometimes a link would be sent via email, sometimes I would receive a phone call, sometimes I would have to call them. The primary provider was kind but because the office provides training for students, I often was unsure who I was speaking with. I did not receive a bill until Feb 2023. Because I did not understand insurance fully, I thought that my insurance was covering the cost of appointments. This was not the case because the office was incorrectly submitting claims to my insurance. I have primary and secondary insurance plans, which I understand complicates the billing process. I have been attempting to work with the office team on resolving this, but they have stopped responding to my emails. Instead, they continue to send me the same $1200 bill, 14 months after I left their care. I do not recommend Keturah Health. The frustration far outweighs the minimal benefits I received from their care.

My partner and I went in and after the first session I knew I found someone special. She was very different than anyone I had seen before... Now let me back up. Previously, my experience with therapists always left me with the feeling that they were simply my personal paid cheerleaders. Yay me!!! They would pet me (ummm.. metaphorically), smile and nod, make all my feelings about life feel validated, give me a sucker and send me off into the world freshly stroked. Rinse. Repeat the following week. I didn't hate that. Enter Amy G. She took my sucker, tossed it aside and put a mirror in front of me. Then she made me look. WTF??? Ugh!!! She's making me DO THINGS!?!? Yeah ok... that didn't literally happen but that's pretty much how I felt. Was it scary? Hell yes. Did it need to happen? Yes, it certainly did. I never knew how much I needed a good hard look at myself. She is authentic AF. Honest and forthright. She will dig deep. She will challenge you. She will find things buried that you don't even remember hiding. Then she will make you look at it. Hard. You will confront it and it will be a bit daunting... and then.. It won't. Before you know it she's rinsing off your sucker and giving it back to you with a smile... and sometimes a joke (Yes, she cleans you out emotionally then can still make you laugh. Black magic perhaps??). Now, off you go with a new personal "knowing" or understanding about yourself. Eventually figuring out together what to do with it. In summation, if you're simply looking for a belly rub and a tickle... Move along. If you're ready to do some work and make some changes.. See Amy. She's kinda awesome. ...and maybe magic...

I went to this doctor because I needed help. I felt like an outsider looking in, trying but failing to be a Human Normal. I hated myself with fury and fire. And I didn't want to want to die, but I certainly longed for an eternal reprieve from the pain. So I went to a doctor. I was in school in Brooklyn but grew up in Texas, and as I was home for the holidays, I started seeing Dr. Alloju. I didn't know the far-reaching and indelible mark this would leave on my life, changing the course completely. I was a bright kid. I read constantly. A bit of a nerd. A writing major. I wanted to write plays and movies. But here's what happened instead: After talking to me for 45 minutes and barely listening, this woman diagnosed me as having Bipolar II Disorder. I wasn't that upset about it because I thought, well maybe she's right and maybe she can help me. Over the course of the next year, culminating in a near-death experience, I was put on these medications concurrently: Lamictal 400mg, Seroquel 350mg, Klonopin 2mg twice daily, and to cap it all off, Geodon 80mg. This is enough medication to sedate an obese elephant. I was 20 years old, 5'2 and 107 lbs. I had to drop out of college because I almost died from this demented drug cocktail. That was a long time ago and I'm still angry. I'm still angry that it took me 10 more years before I was properly diagnosed as ADHD and on the autism spectrum. I didn't need to be on those drugs. I just didn't. When I told her they weren't working, she'd just increase the dosages. Once, during a phone session, she said I sounded drunk and went a step further to label me as an alcoholic. I didn't really drink at the time; my words were slurred because of the sedating medication. The irony, of course, is that Dr. Alloju has multiple DUIs and was on some sort of probation while treating me. I only have flashbulb memories from an entire year of my life. Apparently I almost died from an overdose of these medications. It took many years to try and get my life back from this monster. This is all to say, this woman will destroy your mind, body, and spirit. And she almost ended my life. What she did to me was criminal. Not just malpractice, although it was also that, but it was a deeply immoral negligence and breach of trust. At least if she *had* killed me she might not be practicing to this day. Stay. Away.
