This was maybe our number one recommendation when we were planning our trip to Chicago and I am so glad that we made time for it. We had tickets for Saturday morning at 9:30am and we got lucky with beautiful weather. Our tour guide Bob P. was absolutely incredible and I truly feel like I learned so much. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Chicago and even people that already live in Chicago but have never done the tour!

Such a fun experience! The views from the boat were amazing. We went on a rainy day, it was a bit chilly, but still 100% worth it. Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about architecture. This tour was my favorite thing we did in Chicago. My husband and I walked away with a greater appreciation for architecture. Definitely recommend doing a boat tour on The First Lady!

My husband and I visited our friends in Chicago, who highly recommended to go on an architecture boat tour! We booked through First Lady and had a great time. It was 1.5 hours and our tour guide Amy was amazing! She had so many fun facts about each building and there was so much passion all throughout the tour. We had a great time thank you again!

We took a river boat tour through downtown Chicago with First Lady which is partnership with Chicago Architecture Center (CAC). It was both informative and enjoyable. It was a great way to learn about the city's rich history and iconic architecture. Our tour guide (I wish I remember his name- I believe it was Joe) was knowledgeable, engaging, and spoke clearly throughout the 90 minutes cruise. He shared fascinating stories about Chicago's history, the city's skyline, and the architectural landmarks we passed along the river. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Chicago who wants to learn more about the city's history and architecture.

I was with a couple of friends visiting from out of state. One of them studied architecture and I thought this would be a great activity to do on Chicago. It was a clear, hot summer day perfect for a cruise. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and kept the passengers involved by asking questions along the way. We appreciate the architectural history and diversity of the Chicago ski even more after this tour. Most passengers were on the top level to enjoy an open view of the city. If you want to do the same on a hot summer day, make sure you book the 10AM cruise before it gets too hot since there is no shade or umbrellas on the top level.

This tour is so good. I am such a geek when it comes down to tours and architecture tours I wanna know the who the what the win the way or the Y in the house and especially with Chicago being such an amazing town and just so rich of culture in history I wanted to partake in it. I can't really wait to do it again our tour guide John was so good. He was so good. He was really amazing and I when I come back I'm gonna ask and see when he's doing tours because I want to go on his tour. I really felt like I was in a classroom with virtual hands-on experience of the architectural building buildings.

Andy was amazing! Went on the creepy nighttime boat tour focused on Chicago crimes. His stories and personality are perfect and loved the cheesy bits he added in! Would highly recommend this tour to others! Still talking about his stories the next day. Also appreciated him addressing the people loudly talking and laughing right in front of him while he was story telling.

Amazing views. Excellent speaker who knew all her histories on each and every building. She was amazing with her knowledge and facts on building. Service was great but it was cold. Overall wonderful time and amazing view. Highly recommend for the views and for relaxation with the family.

You can't come to Chicago and not have a river boat experience and First Lady didn't disappoint. Prices are fair. We did the cheaper river sightseeing tour and got to go into the lake too. Well worth the time and money! Priority line was worth getting the seat I wanted.

Our guide, Amy, was superb. Very knowledgeable and made the tour very interesting. I was engaged the entire ninety minute ride listening to her explain the history behind the architecture along the river in Chicago. Highly recommend for a good experience and new respect for the buildings of the city.

Wonderful tour with a knowledgeable tour guide full of fascinating Chicago trivia to go along with the history of beautiful buildings along the riverfront. Thank, Dave!

We were blessed with perfect sunny skies and temps around 68-70 degrees the whole time. Our small group took up the one back corner of the boat and had a great time. The boat took us out through the lock into the harbor and then out around the breakwater into the open lake, around the lighthouse and then back through the lock (about an hour) to a nice cruise down river (30 mins). We turned around where the main branches come together at a Y. Along the way we learned about the history of the City, the great fire, why the lock exists, some local neighborhood history, reverse flow/pollution of the river, lots of building info/architecture new and old and about the lake. The lock and lake part of the trip was fun for the kids. I would recommend this type of tour if you have children so it keeps them a little entertained instead of hearing about buildings for 90 mins. The bathroom on board was clean. The bar area downstairs looked good, but we didn't drink or buy snacks. We walked from our hotel so I can't help you with parking. It's a couple flights of steps down to get to the loading area for the boat and the same steps back up to street level when you leave the boat. Last thing, when we got off our boat the lines for all the boat companies were long. If you hate lines, get the boat tour done early!! Thanks guys!

The only downside was that we were supposed to get $14 parking and somehow that was overlooked and we had to pay a boatload more so that was a bummer. However, I am looking forward to getting trained so I can go out by Navy Pier next time and watch the fireworks. I will definitely return to this FBC location. It was a treat to cruise down the river. I also love the availability of restaurants as soon as you step off your boat it's a great location!

Unfortunately, a recent interaction with Lexi, a seasonal manager at the Streeterville location, was extremely disappointing. The issue appears to involve discrepancies in our reservation history, certifications, and member records. We were told that we had used the club only six times, even though we had made more than six reservations during the summer alone. We were also given inaccurate descriptions of assistance and safety checks that allegedly occurred during our reservation. Most concerning, we were charged fines on an already very expensive luxury membership because certain certifications were missing from our member record--not because we had failed to complete or obtain those certifications. A missing or incomplete record is an administrative issue that should have been investigated and corrected before penalties were imposed. It is not reasonable to treat missing documentation in the club's records as proof that the certifications were never completed. Rather than acknowledging that the club's records might be incomplete or incorrect, Lexi communicated in an accusatory and unprofessional manner. Her email included speculation about what happened onboard, criticism of our conduct, and insinuations that tracking information had "mysteriously" disappeared. These statements were presented as facts despite being inaccurate. I have no issue working with Freedom Boat Club to resolve a legitimate records or certification discrepancy. However, members should not be fined solely because certifications are missing from the club's records, nor should they be spoken to in this manner when the underlying information appears to be incorrect. We have received excellent service from other FBC staff at the Streeterville Marina, which makes this interaction with Lexi particularly disappointing. I hope corporate leadership will review the reservation, certification, and membership records; reverse any fines assessed because of incomplete or missing documentation; correct any inaccuracies; and address how this matter was handled by Lexi. We have made a substantial investment in our membership and expect professional, respectful, and fact-based communication.
