Although appointments are strongly suggested, we lucked out on a quiet morning and were greeted by Mark Reardon in the showroom. He walked us through the steps of selecting several styles of doors we liked and offered suggestions AND information about their doors! The quality is amazing. We needed HOA approval on the design and color, so Mark prepared a document with ALL the information required to secure approval, which came quickly. Mark came out to measure and the door was ordered. About 10 days later, our door was installed and it looks AMAZING! The installers were efficient, professional, tidy and did a great job explaining the best way to care for the door and to use it correctly. Our entire experience was professional and efficient. This morning, we were able to open our front AND back door for airflow, and feel secure and safe with a security door in front!. From working with Mark Reardon during the ordering process to the installation and final cleanup of Thurman the installation agent. All options were provided to me when the door was ordered and when the door arrived, myself and my wife were completely impressed with the quality, style and overall look of the door. The installation was much smoother than expected and Thurman cleaned the area very effectively when complete. He then gave us several tips and discussed the proper care of the door. The communications from the company and Mark was top notch through the process and we are completely satisfied with everything. I believe the value of the door is acceptable. Iron doors are not cheap and the value of the door (to me) also comes from the customer service and satisfaction in the end. They operate by the old but priceless adage of being easy to do business with. I even got the same sales rep to come to our home seven years after our first door was installed! I think that says a lot about the company. They did precisely what they said they were going to do and performed very professionally from start to finish. First Impression makes a quality product, but within a few months our front gate wasn't opening correctly. My husband thought the screws needed to be tightened, but found that plastic anchors were used instead of metal ones which broke down because of the weight of the gate. The front door had a pneumatic door closer installed at the top of the front 10. Ft door which required us to climb up a ladder to hold the door open which puts us at a fall risk. We called the office manager at the Litchfield location and was told this was "standard procedure " even though we expressed our concern about the safety hazards and the cost of project with the way both were installed. The manager said they would not try to make alternative repairs. We would never recommend using this company again. read more

We LOVE our new front security door with the added option of glass hardware. Beautiful door and even better than imagined. I can say we had a great experience with First Impression Ironworks from the start. Derik our salesman was on time, kind, detailed and patient. Placing an order was smooth sailing. We even made a change to the frame size to make sure our doorbell still fit since they no longer drill holes in their wider frames for a doorbell. We paid half up front and the rest the day of installation. Our door was scheduled to be ready 4 to 6 weeks out. Ours ended up being ready in just over 3 weeks. Time frame is based on demand not supply. We received a message of the installation date. No need to call back unless it didn't work for rescheduling. We then received a call from the installer if the estimated time the morning before to confirm a 2 hour window and he would call if he would be earlier. Instalation took less than 30 minutes for our particular project. Gus was great and informative. We looked over the door to make sure it didn't need any touch up. He went over some mechanics with us and we were all set. They make sure that no light shines around the frame and they install trim all around along with a large door sweep at the bottom which I recommend not stepping on. Sealed well from tiny critters. Things other door vendors don't do. I do feel I gave us an advantage by addressing concerns after reading other reviews and If your project will be getting wet often you will want to get the additional zinc protection. I feel it should be a rep's standard to go over ALL options as one may not know they have choices. Especially thinking of weather, door bell issues screens etc. that a customer may not think of or know about. I feel that is the sales person's job. It prevents issues, disappointment, customer changes and buyer regrets. I have had a few quotes through the years. Our door blows the other vendors out of the water. The quality is awesome and again we are so happy. read more

I had high hopes for First Impression since they seemed to be exactly what I needed and have one of their showrooms two miles from my new home in Litchfield Park. I scheduled a home consultation with rep "Martha Flores" who came by and showed me some samples and interested me in a medieval castle door-style gate for my stone turret instead of just a gate. She showed me samples and their portfolio. Although they had over a dozen shades of steel for the gate, oddly they offered just one composite wood choice/color for the rest of the door/gate ( I later found out they are the only one with such a limited selection in composites). I was interested and almost signed on but I decided to think about it. I later did research and realized that the color of my house and accent was a rather difficult color to match, as it was more cooler tones so I needed something not too warm/red yet I didn't want gray either. I needed a neutral "ash" wood tone. I also didn't want something too dark so that the embellishments on the door (hardware, strapping, etc.) for best contrast, but not so light that it did not contrast with the turret itself. I paid Martha a visit at their showcase at her invitation where she explained they used to have more composite wood colors and options but were now with a new vendor. She said they can and have had customers supply their own if they paid for it separately. I told her that may be an idea but I had to research composite wood vendors and if they sell to the public (I knew there were many shades exactly what I needed in faux wood tile, vinyl transitions strips, decking and anything other that was imitation wood which were readily available so I didn't think it would be so difficult). Well it took me weeks and weeks of extensive research to find the right type of planking. I ordered a plethora of samples from several vendors and I learned a lot since First Impressions did not help or suggest anyone. I finally found the perfect composite shade sold thru many places, such as HomeDepot and Lowes. It is TimberTech, a highly reputable brand that offers thickness from 1" (decking) to 1/2" (fascias). They also offered notched or squared styles, and even a line of PVC lightweight wood. Weeks went by and I contacted Martha and sent her and her associates such as Dean Ivey many images showing my turret and how well it matched, and she said she'd look into it. Things dragged on and eventually I started feeling discouraged. I got conflicting messages and eventually Martha's supervisor "Ashley" and Ashley's supervisor "Jennifer Pittman" got involved. They said they didn't want to work with an outside vendor because they couldn't guarantee the quality (even though it was highly rated, they have done so for other customers and First Impressions would not be responsible for the warranty on the composite, just the gate and installation. Nevertheless I got a lot of sudden pushback and mixed signals. After a phone call with Ashley, she said they decided not to help me, with no good explanation and contradicting the path they themselves had led me down for two months. They said they might be willing to make the gate/frame and then I could install the planks, but I am not a skilled tradesman and besides I had metal embellishments that needed to be installed afterward. And to add insult to injury, they said they would only design the gate to fit their own (single color option) composite wood. This was a two-month process where they wasted my time with false claims then afterward changed their mind and would courtesy they offered others who found their own composite shade in lieu of the only one color they offer and from Martha at their company, who was the one who suggested this in the first place and sent me on this wild goose chase for nothing. Many other steel fabrication companies were eager to work with me but the time and effort I wasted on First Impressions (a supposedly "custom" gate manufacturer at high custom prices that seemed to suggest I order a cookie-cutter door that they approved of) makes me glad I didn't go with them to begin with, considering such the hassle and runaround. I now understand some of their other one-star customer reviews (many appearing on the Yelp listings you may wish to check out for their other Valley location showrooms, such as Scottsdale and Gilbert), from their changing gears and making undisclosed claims once the project is underway to other issues like their very limited warranty. Not a great first impression. I came to the office off of Dysart and met with Mark. It started off on the wrong note, when he did not greet me coming inside the door. It became worse with conversation. He did not go over the designs with me. Did not get a quote/estimate from him. He seemed like he did not even want my business. Every question I asked was a short response. I am use to sales consultants upselling products not no selling lol. A very expensive door and within months the screen comes loose. There is barely enough screen to tuck in. I called, but was told they don't warranty their work or guarantee anything. After some complaining they did say they would send someone out - and did. They tucked the screen back in but said if it needed rescreening it would cost. I can see that it really needs a cross bar so you don't touch any part of the screen if you hold it open for someone. Will need to spend more money to fix problem myself. Poor design of this particular door with less metal and more open screen. Would not recommend the product or this company. For this price they should stand behind their workmanship. read more

We finally got our doors put in.... And we are absolutely OBSESSED!!! we signed the contract on Mothers Day (5/8/22), installation date was set on 6/7/22, installation was done 7/14/22. The tech called me the morning of and gave me a window of arrival of 11am- 12pm, I don't recall his name but he texted me when he was 10 min away and arrived on time. It took him just under 2.5 hrs to complete the installation. We had our main front door and our side gate door replaced. The door is heavy and solid, very good quality. He answered my questions, he cleaned up after himself. Very nice! Our doors are amazing. Definitely recommend this company. So happy we went with them. read more

First off, the customer service here is great. Jennifer from their customer service team listened to our concerns and was responsive. The quality of the product however is not up to the standards of other companies. We had a security door installed on our front door by Steel Shield Security Doors which we were very happy with. On the recommendation of a neighbor we went with First Impressions for our second door. The door they installed is not as nice as the one we had installed by Steel Shield. In our photos you will see smooth welds filed nicely and powder coated on the Steel Shield doors. On the First Impression door, the welds are sloppy, wobbly and fat with excessive amounts of flux which make the welds look like fat worms or tooth paste. When I contacted Jennifer she tried to bring my concerns to the production team and their answer is that the welds are within their company standards. They mentioned that they could come out and file the welds down and paint over them, but over time the paint would fade since they would not be powder coated like the rest of the door. I said no thanks. The review may possibly have been one star if not for how professional and attentive Jennifer was during our conversations. read more

I called and spoke to a representative 30 minutes after the scheduled time to ask when I could expect the consultant, to which he replied he'd relay my information to a dispatcher who can provide that information. They would get ZERO stars if that was an option. I went out of town for the install. I asked the sales rep to insure the wires of the doorbell were left out so we can reattach the ring after the install. Instead they cut the wires to it, covered them with the security door. I asked the rep multiple times to have this fixed and he ghosted me. I finally got sick of no door bell on my brand new home and called customer service who said I have to pay $150 for the removal (service call) and then to take it up with my rep. so I paid the fee and I did text my rep who said he would see what he could do for the charge. Naturally ghosting me yet again. when the service rep came out, he removed the door to see the doorbell wires were cut and he called me out to show me letting me know what happened so He couldn't access the wires anymore for me. I then called back to customer service to be reimbursed for the service fee and have this fixed. Melissa Paulson said she would only reimburse me 1/2 of the fee and nothing can be done for the wires. this company will sing and dance to get the sale, but will refuse to make things right when THEY mess up. Stay clear of them, go anywhere else but here. The doors are way over priced compared to their competitors we only went with them to help the sales rep who was a friend (not anymore) and because we were under the illusion that they had good customer service- which they do not. Don't waste your time or money on these frauds. Run, do not walk And get a different company with integrit. read more

Product looks great! Three days after install rear Arcadia doors would no longer close right, went on website to report issue with no return call. Gave it about a week, then I called the toll free number. Spoke to Manuel, whom by the way was very polite. He mentioned that I would get a call from scheduling. It's been about a month with no Last update: If I owned a service business like First Impressions, I would hope that my customer service was ran by Ms Dobbs. Jeniffer Dobbs became involved after two miscommunications and disappointments. She stated that her intentions were to communicate with me throughout the day until repair was done and she "Did what she said she would do" I'm a born again fan.
