We had contracted Bruce almost 10 mths. before for a High School reunion. Our reunion committee sent a play list, agenda to Bruce before our Sat. evening event. Unfortunately there was a break down in communication as classmates were extremely disappointed as his "new" microphone was not working at the beginning of our reunion. Songs he wasn't familiar with, timing and execution was a little off. The Doubletree Annapolis saved the day in so many ways where the DJ fell short. Maybe an off night for this nice, polite elderly gentleman but, one we will remember after Bruce played "Last Dance" by Donna Summers not ONCE - a little over an hour before our reunion ended and a Second time, as our evening was coming to an end. read more

Our church group was so happy in 2022 with 1st Dance Entertainment, with DJ Bruce Wayne and DJ Todd that we hired them again for a bigger event this May 2024. Their communication is excellent, prices are extremely reasonable, they're punctual and gave me zero headaches when I had so much else going on. I can't tell you how important that is, that they do their job and don't need me micromanaging. They also can sense the crowd and the music that we liked, DJ Todd took requests, he worked so very hard prior to the event to plan his approach, that was clearly evident. Working with them 8+ months before my wedding, giving them a complete set list, giving them cds with the songs, giving them a powerpoint with timing literally all they needed to do was show up and be a speaker player. Yet they messed up 1/3 of my music, just missing while songs played on a repeat loop. They played wrong songs entirely. And they played wrong versions. Its all in the wedding video, so we will always remember learning the hard way. They blamed me saying I was a complicated bride. When I voiced being upset, They agreed to pay us back for issues but I have yet to recieve a check or paypal transfer read more

Bruce was very responsive and worked with us well. They visited the venue a couple months in advanced to help with determining set up. During our wedding the music was great, and they were able to read the room well and knew when to change songs and how to get people dancing. read more

Bruce and his team were great to work with in many areas. - Responsive - Bruce always got back to our emails and questions within 24 hours of us reaching out which we appreciated. - Great preparation - We had some obscure songs that we wanted for our ceremony as my husband is a gamer and selected some of his favorite musical scores from his favorite game. These songs weren't easy to find but Bruce came through and made sure to communicate with us in advance to make sure he had the right music. - State of the art equipment - Bruce was able to provide sound support for both our outdoor ceremony and the indoor reception. You could tell that these were high quality speakers and we had no issues with volume. - Affordability - Many of the DJs we initially talked to were unaffordable, quoting us thousands of dollars for a 5 hour event. Bruce's quote was much more reasonable. - Experience - Because my husband and I aren't the best planners and didn't have a wedding planner, we didn't know many of the details and logistics related to audio that we would have to figure out. Bruce was able to guide us through it all. You could tell he had many years of experience under his belt. - Flow - Bruce and his team kept our party dancing all night long and played our requested songs during the reception with a great flow. We also had a "do not play list" of songs that my husband dislikes and he definitely followed it even after multiple guests requested those songs. - Dress - First Dance provides a choice of attire. I asked them to come dressed formally and they looked quite dapper! Overall, I highly recommend First Dance entertainment. They were always professional and very easy to work with. I wish I would have search this company before hiring them. From the very start I addressed to him that I needed a bilingual host for my daughter's quinceañera. He said he spoke very well Spanish. Well turns out that he needs google translate to speak Spanish, I was very upset with this. A family friend was able to help host the party! Thank God because I truly believe if the DJ host it he would have missed up. He messed up my daughter's court entrance, he was supposed to play a instrumental song and then when my daughter walked in the same instrument song with vocals was supposed to play, but he played the regular song with the vocals the whole time!When we sat down to meet him and talk, he was not friendly and didn't not help make a time line sheet for the party. Also there were awkward silence moments during the event where he was not playing no music at all, which made it feel weird and boring. I gave him a playlist of at least 12 hours worth of music but he kept playing the same songs over again until I came up to him and asked him to play the another list of songs.
