I got a decent interest rate but they sold my mortgage to another company after one month. I had to redo all of my autopay. They sold it to Citizen's bank which i have a huge problem and I am going to see if i can't get it transferred to my local credit union. this is stupid! read more

I would say she must be a generally angry person and not nice at all. I tried to explain to her I was sick with Covid but she insisted that if I read her text, I had to respond. Not a nice person! An unreal experience with the lender from the Fruitland office, Kara Currey and my realtor, Martin Justus, Four Star Real Estate in Ontario. Ten days before closing on a property in Ontario, Kara discussed privileged information about my loan to my realtor. Realtor had another buyer whose loan might have gone smoother than mine (I had already been approved). Realtor called me and told me that I would forfeit my earnest money if my loan didn't go through and that I should back of the deal, which I did. Realtor sold it the same day to someone else. I found out that he had lied to get rid of me based on the information the lender had given him regarding my loan. Lenders ARE NOT allowed to share the buyers financial information with a realtor and realtors ARE NOT allowed to lie period. So if you want unethical people handling the purchase of your home, give them a call! read more

I recently closed on house with First Colony mortgage. My mortgage officer was great and closing happened exceptionally fast. However, within a month of closing, my mortgage was sold to Chase and my information has now been shared with several junk mail companies. First Colony will try to sell itself as a small-time mortgage company that is trusted locally, but they are really just a patsy for big national banks. read more

I have been trying to get someone to call me back or write me back about PMI being added to my loan when it was not suppose to. I checked in with my mortgage officer and he sent me a letter saying it should not have been applied to the loan since my LOAN TO VALUE was less than 80%. I have sent this information to the company multiple times with no response back. I do not recommend this company to anyone nor will I ever. When you call they tell you to email and they will get right back to you which is not the case. I have been waiting since 01/08/2020 to get a response. I have sent 5 emails and made 4 phone calls with no luck. read more

We looked at three other banks before we found First Colony. Debbie and her assistant Keeley are awesome and very quick to respond. Much different than our experience with other banks. We ended up getting a Better rate with less closing costs and much better customer service than bigger banks or credit unions like UCCU. We worked with Lane through First Colony Mortgage and he was so great to work with. We're from out of country and had a lot of international issues to work through and he made it soo smooth and painless. My husband and I have odd schedules and Lane worked around the clock to accommodate. He's easy to get along with and goes out of his way to shop for the best interest rate possible for our mortgage. Lane managed to get us a 3% interest rate on our mortgage and we didn't have that great of a credit score. He also has the lowest closing costs around. Definitely recommend him! read more
