I paid nearly $7,000 to have flooring installed in one room, with approximately $4,000 of that cost attributed to labor alone. Unfortunately, the room is still not complete, and I now have to hire another flooring company to finish the job. To make matters worse, the final cost was over $1,000 higher than the original estimate, despite the owner visiting twice to assess the project. I expected a more accurate estimate and a completed job for the amount paid. I am disappointed with the experience. The work remains unfinished, and I am now facing additional expenses to have the project completed properly. read more

We used First Class Wood Flooring to remove carpet and install hardwood in our upstairs hallway. We got a good price and the work was finished quickly. We decided to wait to do our master bedroom and the contract had to be changed. Rebecca and Chris couldn't have been easier to work with. All the people involved from beginning to end were polite and professional. Our floor is gorgeous and the stain was perfectly matched to the existing stain on the stairs. We would highly recommend this company and plan to use them again in the near future. Recently we used first class for our floors in our home. My husband researched and chose first class. What a mistake. They were on time and kept us informed but that is the one star. The amount of dust they create without any attempt to minimize was the first issue. We chose a color but each room came out slightly pink in spots and we were told it was the wood not the stain. We found out they thinned the stain after mixing the formulation which changed the color completely. They tried to charge trip charges since we were in Nassau and they were in selden. They agreed to do the work & obviously knew where we were located. That did not happen. They agreed to use three coats of semi gloss. There is no way this was done & we wound up recoating our rooms ourselves with semi gloss polyurethane and got the shine that we should have gotten. We were told that water polyurethane does not shine like oil which is 100% untrue. Finally, we're were having a new entrance floor installed. The floor was one board short and we did not want a T molding to fix the gap. The workers came over to fix it with a board of the wrong color wood from a store, not floor planking. They returned a few days & completed the job, We regret hiring this company. There are numerous other issues but this review is overly long already. Do not use this company. read more
