First of all, people come to me because of my deep knowledge of surplus equipment and the market value for key components needed to launch insurrections. And people go to Baseer's because of their knowledge of the finely woven market. But here's another even better reason to go. It's a family business. And the best businesses are a family business. Your first time being there you may see Baseer's wife. May even see their kids studying and talking. And then what you should also know that you won't learn in an ad or elsewhere is that Baseer goes the extra mile. When I called late on a Saturday after he had left the store and closed it, when I was in need of the carpet for that evening, Baseer heard it in my voice and went back, got my trimmed and cleaned carpet and brought it to my home. Wow. Now that's Customer Service at its's best. Not some 1-800 treatment. It's like, when I asked my friend, if the Chinese takeout restaurant down the block from his store was any good? He said, "I don't know. But the same family has been running it for more than 10 years, so it must be pretty good." And that's all you need to know about Baseer's Rugs. The same family run store. I took three Persian rugs to this store for cleaning. Two came out fine, but one was returned with…read moreripples (see picture). I left the rug on the floor for a few weeks hoping the ripples would settle, but they did not. I asked Baseer to take a look and fix the issue, but he denied that the rippling had anything to do with the washing--which is simply not true, as the rug was perfectly fine beforehand. He then charged me an additional $175 to "fix" the rug, but he was unable to do so. The rug still has ripples, and now it is also stretched out of shape (see pictures). When I confronted him about the poor quality of work, instead of taking responsibility, he repeatedly accused me of lying, raised his voice, and even said he never works with people of my background and nationality. This was despite the fact that I had already paid for his poor service and was only voicing a legitimate concern about customer service. To be fair, Baseer's prices are reasonable, but that is probably the only positive thing about his business. Unfortunately, the rug in question had deep sentimental value for us, and now it has been ruined. All he did was accuse me of lying while charging me for services he did not properly deliver. Absolutely terrible customer service. Stay away at all costs.

I repeatedly met with flooring people that I felt wouldn't work to my very high standard or made suggestions that were to make their job easier, not accomplish the sophisticated look I wanted. From the moment I scheduled the in home appointment with Joan. It felt right. I received a call to confirm our appointment and I knew they would show up and respect my time. Appointment time and Phil shows up just as scheduled in a really cool retro varsity company jacket. I true professional, very polite and knowledgeable. I explained that I wanted the two layers of existing floor removed and the sub-floor repaired and leveled out. I also let him know that I despise molding where the floor and walls meet and I want the flooring cut perfectly to the edges so the gap could be closed with a small bead of caulk. THIS IS WHERE I LOST EVERY OTHER INSTALLER. Everyone else didn't want to do this type of precise install. What does Phil say? Not a problem we have a team of expert installers and this is all they do. They will receive exact instructions and it won't be a problem. Phil shows me a bunch of floors and I write down everything to do my research. Phil follows up with a text to see if I need anything else? I told him I just need some time. I spend the next two weeks figuring out what I want and never got any sales pitches or other nonsense. I knew he was just a text away if I had any questions. He just let me have my time to figure out what I want to do. I really appreciated that. When I was ready and contacted him he said I could go to the store and set it all up with Joan. I walk in to see Joan and there she was in a company branded sweatshirt, very professional and easy to talk to. We confirmed the flooring I wanted and the price I was quoted. I asked about the particulars of my install and she showed me the instructions right on the order. I left the deposit and got a call 2 weeks later everything is in, and we are ready to schedule the install. Like clockwork the installers showed up on time and got right to work. I had Alex and two twin brothers. Everyone was super nice to be around and worked really hard. Each of the 4 Days there was a substantial amount of work accomplished. I honestly couldn't be happier. I love the new floors and now I have a flooring company I can trust. This is an amazing small business that feels awesome to support and gives the attention to detail others refuse. A true 5 star review for a true 5 star business.
