Established in 2004.
First Class Cooking was founded with a mission to make everyone a better home chef.
We foster a kitchen environment that is friendly, social, encouraging & fun.
Class instruction covers knife skills, culinary technique with advice on how to select, maintain and store ingredients & equipment. Lessons are presented with flexibility and empathy to encourage chefs of all experience levels. We share *Everything* so that you'll be excited & inspired to get into the kitchen!
Recipes are produce-forward, seasonally driven and celebrate nutritious ingredients in delicious preparations. In many instances, we can make subtle adjustments to accommodate dietary concerns.
I adore food, produce, agriculture and technology and work with brands of all scales and size to create products, innovations and experiences to shape and address how people eat today and in the future. I have worked in kitchens, farms, restaurants, catering and Consumer Packaged Goods and have learned with every experience.
Meet the Business Owner: Emily D.
Hi! I'm Emily and I started First Class Cooking way back in 2004, with a mission to share my zeal for food & cooking and to inspire everyone to cook more at home.
I started cooking in grade school and my curiosity and adoration for produce led me to work on farms, in kitchens and in catering operation across the US, Europe and Australia.
My approach distills proper culinary technique, explains kitchen science in relatable, memorable terms, and discusses principles of flavor composition so that one can successfully cook, without a recipe.
The class atmosphere is fun, encouraging and social and the recipes are flexible to dietary concerns as well as ingredient availability.
Our mission is to help everyone find their joy in the kitchen and teach healthy, delicious cooking for real life.
