I am currently 14 weeks first-time pregnant and have been going to Beth Israel OB-GYN (2nd Floor)…read moreover the past month since arriving in New York from overseas. So far, all of the staff - from the efficient ladies at the reception desk, to the super-friendly technicians and attendants who remember you every time (even on the busiest days...and I've seen it quite hectic in there though everything seems to run smoothly) - everyone makes you feel comfortable and encouraged. I have seen Dr. J. Brown and had a separate appointment with Nurse R. Vaca and both were congratulatory, enthusiastic and very professional with already many years of successful and safe deliveries (and motherhood). Each step has been explained and the nurse also provided me with plenty of information on nutrition, Prenatal classes, safe home, child birth and breastfeeding. Sonogram technician / appts have also been wonderful. Thanks to this group for making me feel so comfortable and keeping me well-informed.

After getting cold feet about my OBGYN (at another practice), I decided to explore the Midwife…read moreroute 36 weeks into my pregnancy. My husband and I met with Rochelle Lipshutz and were extremely impressed. Rochelle was smart, sweet and matter of fact about my situation. She took the time to give us excellent, unbiased advice on our situation. Her demeanor and approach to care left me really wanting to switch at the last minute, even though it would be quite a hassle. I would have loved to experience birth in Rochelle's care. It was a hard decision but I ultimately am sticking with my current doctor. One of the things that made me so confident about Rochelle (in addition to her stellar hands on examination- no sonogram needed to perfectly estimate baby's size and position) was her straightforward manner. Rather than trying to convince me switch over to midwife care (which I think many proponents of low-intervention births would try to do) she told us all about her practice and left it up to us. She gave us a lot of information about the way she practices within the confines of a hospital. I really think this is the mark of a true professional. Any pregnant ladies out there, definitely check out this practice, Beth Israel is a "baby friendly" hospital and when we toured, we loved it. I won't soon forget my meeting with Rochelle and hopefully she will be able to care for me next go round...

NYU Langone Outpatient has been very cooperative with me during my preparation for chemotherapy…read more They accommodated my need for an immediate appointment for the placement of a port for chemotherapy. My first chemotherapy is Friday 11/21/25. I'm not gonna have a good Thanksgiving! Today at 4pm I have a full body scan. Tomorrow they put in the port for chemo and Friday is chemo. The doctor must have seen something in my recent bloodwork because he is really rushing me through the system. He said if they didn't give me the appointment for the port for tomorrow his office would call them. I'm always going to recommend NYU Langone as I've never had a problem. I'm going to be out of commission for a while. I'm sorry. Please send vibes that this Chemotherapy works and doesn't make me too sick. I'm down to 85 pounds as of this past Monday!

It was a little bit of a walk from the train station so if you cannot walk much, you are better off waiting for the bus that drops you off nearby. The building itself is not near many eateries, so you will have to trek around to the neighboring food carts or just bring your own lunch. Eating and drinking is allowed in the waiting area (right when you come inside). The waiting area is clean, the seats are nice and soft ("buttery" as one had described it to me), and outlets located around for charging your devices. Check-in was easy. Provide your name, the name of your guest (or person responsible for picking you up), fill out any other necessary paperwork, and wait to be called. You are given a card with color coded status updates that you can refer to on the screen next to the TV. The only bad thing is that the status screen should be placed elsewhere as it is smaller and gets hidden by the adjacent television. It is also not noticeable from the far corner and you have to get up to look. Outside of that, the status does get update as the patient moves from one stage to another and it is very easy to read. The staff were very friendly and patient, shout-out to Nurse Marie, who was an absolute angel in helping my spouse recover from the anesthesia as well as following up the day after to see how he was doing. :) Considering the past care that he received from the original medical facility, NYU Langone goes above and beyond in patient care and customer service! Anyone who has to have an operation should definitely look into having it at this facility (just make sure your insurance covers it, of course).

I'm a first-time mom, delivered my son about a month ago, and hiring Nubia was one of the best…read moredecisions I ever made and I would do it again without question. She was exactly what I needed during my pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. She is both knowledgeable and experienced, equal parts IQ and EQ, such that I felt supported in every way in each stage. On the IQ side, she was able to provide guidance/support on nutrition, supplements, physical activity, and mental preparation during pregnancy; pain management, labor progression, and intervention options during labor; and breastfeeding and mental health support postpartum. Really anything I had questions about or needed advice on, I turned to Nubia for guidance, and she never disappointed. On the EQ side, Nubia immediately felt like family when we met and she continues to feel like family. We always felt very comfortable with her, and she with us. Throughout my labor, she was both gentle and assertive, getting me to do things I wasn't exactly excited about doing but would ultimately prove helpful in moving things along (eg using the peanut ball, standing through contractions, and repeatedly taking the stairs when my labor stalled). I labored for 40+ hours and Nubia was with us for 30+ of them. Though we were aiming for a home birth, we ended up making a non-emergency transfer to the hospital around the 40-hour mark and Nubia didn't hesitate to say she would be joining us. At the hospital, Nubia knew exactly how to navigate the hospital setting, work with our midwife and L&D nurse, and help us advocate for the birth preferences we'd chosen in the event of a hospital birth. She also captured beautifully intimate moments on camera for us (with our consent of course) that we will cherish forever. All in all, I plan on being a repeat customer (God willing) and I would highly recommend her.
