I had half of a home roof replaced in October 2011. It is a rental home and I just discovered that it is leaking through vent pipe. When I noticed the damage to the drywall where it had leaked, I thought--"No problem, it has a 10 year warrantee." I just pulled out the warranty and the warranty isn't worth the paper it is printed on. To get a warranty, one has to pay $225 per year for a maintenance agreement. Not a good deal! It seems very misleading to tell the customer that the new roof comes with a 10-year roof warranty and then tell you afterwards that the warranty only applies if you pay an exorbitant annual maintenance fee. read more
