Hi! This Tuesday (March 18th,2025) on a whim, I decided it would be so nice and relaxing to have a…read morehair wash & blowout! I googled places in Peterborough as my stylist is out of town. I called they had room so I went! I was soooo excited! I have a neck injury, I did let her know, in case I felt uncomfortable, I was quite comfortable and clearly stated this! I NEVER once stated I had a sensitive scalp! Wel, my hair is long. I asked her if she worked on long hair, I even asked if she liked working on long hair. Her response, was most of her clients had short hair, but was ok with long hair. Ok good. She proceeded to wash , if you call it that, my hair. She barely touched me, she rubbed with her palm, the crown (top) of my head only, barely! Rinsed, so I'm thinking ok, the shampoo is coming! Nope!!! I stated clearly my hair needs to be rinsed well as it holds on to product, nope she barely rinsed. My sides of head or my nape or anywhere was not touched! I then asked how long she has been doing hair? (I'm thinking she must be an apprentice) well she stated 15 years! Ok. So we move to the chair. I stated multiple times I like bouncy hair. Volume. Yeah have long hair, yes I have achieved bouncy hair, without issue every single time! I did state that heavy products may way my hair down and make my hair look greasy! However I'm ok with what you use as long as it's for volume!! She blew dry my hair pulling downwards, again I stated I wanted volume. Dismissed me. Now I also stated when my bangs are wet they need to be placed or they stay the way they are wet. She did not hear me ? I asked again, still did not touch them. I used my fingers and tried to pull down so they didn't stay stuck and messed up.! Meanwhile, she used round brush, but not in an upward direction, and repeatedly pulled hairs out of my head, instead of feeling when it was stuck, she just yanked! She kept blow drying, finished, still never touched my bangs. My hair was plasterd straight to my scalp. She asked if she could put some curls in, I said I guess, hoping ok maybe this is where I may get some bounce/volume. Nope, ends only, so not even halfway I said to stop and I need to leave. She said oh just let me put some on top. We proceed to the counter, 87$!!!! With a minor tip! I was gobsmacked! If it had been a fabulous experience, hey no problem!!! So I receive a text asking me to comment on my experience. I sent the above. Not knowing it was a "posted response " or it was going anywhere except the person requesting it. Here is the response : "Hello, Thank you for reaching out, and I apologize for the delay in my response. I wanted to first consult with the stylist regarding your experience. I sincerely regret that your visit did not meet your expectations, and I believe there may have been some miscommunication. Regarding your shampoo experience, you mentioned to the stylist that you have a sensitive scalp and a bad neck. It may have been an oversight for her to assume that you would be comfortable with the shampoo sink, as she was trying to accommodate your needs by being as gentle as possible. Concerning the styling, the stylist indicated that your hair is quite long. This length can make it challenging to achieve volume, as longer hair tends to weigh down. Additionally, since you requested not to use product near the roots, this can also impact volume. Thank you for your understanding. We may just not be the salon for you. I could suggest The Parlour or Glenda's in the future. Best regards, Sherri Owner Hair by Fusion Simply put, I don't care about you or your experience! So I put my experience on here. I felt that it was important and I wanted to share. No where else.! I answered a call moments after I submitted this, I answered, the woman proceeded to demand I resolve this "like adults" , I felt attacked and I did not want to engage with someone angry. Yes I hung up. I didn't feel comfortable in fact I felt extremely uncomfortable.

I have now gone to Locks 3 times . Trying to give them a chance after my 1st bad experience at…read moreChristmas time . I had nails fall off after 1 day when they applied my nails . The second experience was not much better booked a pedicure and a manicure . When got there the told me I had only booked a manicure and they didn't have time to give me a pedicure. I was very disappointed. I was there again today . 3 strikes and they're out . Not going back . This time I booked just a pedicure. The woman doing my nails was condescending and rude . I had to have the gel polish removed which took a ridiculous amount of time . The massage of my legs was ok and I enjoyed the hot towels . I think the water burnt my feet ,it was so hot . When I asked her to add some cold water she huffed at me . Right then I decided no tip for you . She left a callous on my big toe untouched. The rest of the pedicure was ok but not worth the price with all the extras they charged , $15 for polish removal, $15 for and anti fungal spray, a change of colour fee or something stupid like that . I will not be returning.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would…read more I just wanted an icy platinum. My old stylist did it in 2 and a half hours for 75$. I ended up with ramen-noodle yellow with brown and orange patches. This was just a simple colour correction. It wasn't the first one I've gotten before either. At first, I was quoted 128$ for what I wanted. Then, on the day of my appointment, the SENIOR stylist tells me the original quote was underpriced, said it would cost between 3 and 400$ and take 4 hours. I showed her my inspiration colour (that I've always shown every other time) and took a deep breath and decided I deserved to treat myself. By the time it was done, i felt like something was a bit off but I was in a rush to get home and it was pitch black out. The lighting in the salon wasn't the greatest so to me it looked ashy. Then the next day I noticed it looked a bit yellow but I thought maybe it was just my lighting. So I waited for today to go in natural lighting and check out my colour and I felt SO crushed. It looked like the time I box-bleached my hair from red to blond in grade 10. I had a FULL band of orange around my head. It looks like it was never toned. I can't believe I paid $339 for this. I called to get it fixed, but now I'm not sure I even want to return. I just want to get my money back and put it towards someone who can actually give me results that are worth their price point. I'm super disheartened and this has ruined my trust in hair stylists. I'm embarrassed. My hair looks awful and to add insult to injury, I'm out 339$. People need to know what to expect from Locks. It isn't fair that I've been robbed of almost four hundred dollars and left with a terrible ugly colour that is worse than anything I've gotten from a 15$ box of Feria from Walmart. And from the "senior stylist"? Was that a joke? Someone who has worked with Locks for 15+ years trying to pull the wool over my eyes by strategically styling my hair to cover her mistakes before I left? People need to be informed of what they are walking into--especially with such audacious prices. I want a total refund. I'm not returning to Locks ever again and I have to go to another salon to fix these errors. This is taking a lot of time out of my days and finding a sitter for my two girls while I go to another salon to fix something that should have been done correctly the first time (especially considering what I paid) is a costly stressor to an already fiscally tight month as I'm preparing to leave the country to be with my husband after almost a year of solo parenting 2 under 2 and balancing the demands of my final year of university. This was a massive investment of not only money, but an enormous amount of trust--and to be honest, it has been an even greater disappointment.
