Sid gave my long hair an expert cut! It's now a more manageable and flattering shoulder length. Sid told me that he's actually been cutting women's hair for forty years and it's obvious that he has!. His prices are also extremely reasonable. Women, why go to a women's salon and pay much more? Hi there, I've been to the salon 3 times this year, and will…read morenot be returning. The cuts are good, but the staff wound up being very petty. The first two visits were with Cassie, who is their junior stylist. Sweet girl, good stylist, room to grow :) I had my third appointment scheduled with Cassie for Sat April 21st at 10 am. Due to a scheduling conflict (I was climbing the bow building downtown for charity), I had to reschedule to 1 pm. As she wasn't available, I said I would be happy to take an appointment with whomever was available. Cassie promptly called to say she had a 3:15 available, which just didn't work with the rest of my days schedule. Thought that was perfectly acceptable. When I came in at 1, I brightly smiled at Cassie and said hello. The response was abrupt, and she wouldn't look at me. The stylist that did my hair Chrissy, snapped at me while I was trying to explain what I wanted done. She continued to speak highly of Cassie while being a tad unpleasant throughout the appointment. Wow. All over a rescheduled appointment. I was going to go back to Cassie for further appointments as I thought well of her personally and professionally, but feel that your salon doesn't deserve my $60 every 4-6 weeks. Best of luck.

My hairdresser Cassie, was so nice to me and told me everything she was doing to fix my hair to make sure I was comfortable with it. She was so nice and it was definitely a breath of fresh air to go to such a nice salon where they care about you hair and it's needs.

The hairdresser showed me pictures of a similar perm. he said he would use larger rollers. he left it on 15 minutes and then said it was done. I questioned him, worried it was not curled enough. I could not see much curl. I said make sure we can't do this again! I had to trust his skills. sure enough it was not curly. All I got was a $120.00 hair cut. You would never know I had a perm. There is barely a wave. it is More like a Little kink!!!!!! Some places are flat with no wave/ kink at all. I mentioned it to both hairdressers.! such a waste of money. 100% unsatisfied and very upset. no one in the Shawnessy salon cared. i do not recommend anyone have a perm at First Choice Shawnessy.

I wandered into First Choice with my boyfriend who's not picky, His hair had grown too long and it was making him feel icky, I tried to convince Romeo to visit my stylist in the East, But he was hurtin' to get it over with so that we could go feast. We walked in with no prior appointment, call or booking, And I'll be honest, my skepticism was seriously cooking, But within 2 minutes my man was seated in a chair, With a drape over his body and a towel in his hair. I watched from the sidelines as the stylist did her thang, She was as professional as they come and coulda joined the 'Hairspray' Gang, Her laugh was contagious and her speed was insane, In less than 5 minutes flat, my man had a new mane. We've been here 7 minutes and the job is done, The hair cut's all finished, it's time to go have fun. The price for this professionalism: $17 dollars, that's all, I normally pay close to $80, who's the fool? Your call. My man taught me a good lesson the other day, It's about the service and professionalism, not how much you pay, First Choice left me impressed with the service, prices and the lot, Next time I need to get my hair did, I'll fo sure give them a shot.
