It is definitely in your best interest to have Quick Dry in your corner. Maybe not physically, but they have definitely "held my hand" and took care of all the communication that was needed on my behalf with the adjuster. They are a 24 hour service that handles many home emergencies at a time. So you will see different technicians coming out to check the machines and monitor the moisture, but they all eventually become familiar faces.

Any visible damage was mostly contained within kitchen area. I looked up local companies on Yelp and decided to get a free quote from Independent Restoration Services. They came out the next day to check out the place, provided a quote within a few hours, and were then able to start the next day after obtaining work authorization. I placed my trust in them based on their reviews across Yelp, Google, and FB. At first I was a bet skeptical due to only one person making it out on the first day, which was due to a combination of scheduling issues , others being called onto different sites/projects, and overall just being a small team. But in the end they still finished on schedule as initially estimated, despite having less manpower than I had expected. They were thorough with the restoration - my place was just as clean as before, and in some places even cleaner. They kept me assured throughout the whole process and answered any questions and concerns I had. There was a misunderstanding on my end where I thought they would also clean the air ducts, but since that is not something they provide, they offered to go 50/50 on subcontracting a duct cleaner. And at the end, they agreed the initial quoted estimated cost seemed a bit too high, so they were willing to adjust the final bill downwards. Overall they provided quality cleaning and restoration services, were flexible to work with, and did not seem like they were out to get my money. Justin also went beyond the job to help us learn about potential plumbing, flooring, and electrical issues that was present in this home that we just bought. We knew they were on the way to other jobs after ours but they cared enough to bring up problem spots that they saw, although none of those would lead to any job for their company to perform.

I was then expected to pay for that time as part of the job. I have no problem paying a company fairly for legitimate work performed at my home. What I will not do is pay for unnecessary or unauthorized work, inflated labor time, or hours when workers were simply sitting outside my house. When I disputed the charges, I made it clear that I was willing to pay the correct amount once EcoDry and my insurance company agreed on what was legitimately owed. Instead of resolving the disputed total first, I continued to be pressured to make a payment against an invoice I believed was incorrect. This experience has left me extremely disappointed with EcoDry's billing practices. If you use this company, I strongly recommend documenting when workers arrive and leave, keeping track of exactly what work you authorize, taking photos, and carefully comparing the final invoice with the work that was actually performed.
