Holden is very good, and when someone takes hold of your neck and twists -- you really need to relax and trust them.

I searched for acupuncture in Lake Havasu and only found two places. One was "A Acupuncture Center"…read moreand the other was the "Institute of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture." I just discovered they are actually the same business. While I liked Jeanne, her office was in complete disarray, with trash and debris scattered all over the counters. As I walked to the treatment room with her, I noticed tons of dead gnats stuck to the yellow ball above the weight scale. As you can see from the photos, there's a sign that says "Please sign in," but there was no room on the counter for a sign-in sheet due to the clutter. Trash was piled up in the lobby as well. When I entered the room and explained my numerous symptoms, she asked where I felt the most pain. My condition is more complicated than just one area, but I told her my right hip hurt the most--so she treated only that area. The room did not feel sanitary at all. Gnats were flying around my body as I lay there. I was placed on towels from which she was picking debris, so I removed my sweatshirt to use as a cleaner surface for my head. She did place a paper towel where my head would rest, but there was no medical paper covering the table. She showed me a sealed package of needles to confirm they were new, but she never cleaned my skin with rubbing alcohol before inserting them. I found this odd, as everyone else I've seen for acupuncture has done this first to reduce the risk of infection--after all, we all have bacteria on our skin that could be pushed in with the needle. She then connected me to an electric pulse machine and turned it up so high that I winced and yelped in pain. The room was completely cluttered and still didn't feel sanitary. She left her cell phone in the room, and it rang three times while I was trying to relax--she never came back in to silence or remove it. I was left under a bright light with no soothing music, while she and a coworker spoke loudly outside the room. She eventually came in, removed the needles, and wiped the small spots of blood with tap water and a cotton ball. I asked if I was done, and she said she was going to do cupping. She used jars that looked like jelly jars, not professional cupping equipment. She created some kind of concoction inside each jar, including what looked like a cotton ball, lit a match, and pressed the jar to my skin. Again, I was concerned about the cleanliness of the jars. Jeanne was very nice and clearly wanted referrals. I know how important reviews are, and I genuinely wanted this to work out because I would love to have a local resource. But given the condition of her office and the lack of sanitation protocol, I'm too afraid to go back. I wish her the best of luck.

The front desk lady (possibly Anne or Audra, not sure) came into our room and asked my daughter a series of questions, one of them being if she received the Covid vaccination. When my daughter answered yes, this lady literally said, "it causes death and destruction"! Unbelievable, needless to say I told her not only was that completely false but highly inappropriate. This extremist point of view has no place at a chiropractor appointment, let alone forced on patients. We stuck around so that I could tell Dr. Linda Marquez Goodine (our Chiropractor) what had happened, and that my daughter was shaken by the experience. The response I received was, "everybody has their own opinions". No apology given, which implies this behavior is condoned by this chiropractic clinic. I would strongly encourage you to find a different location for your chiropractic needs.

After calling several Chiropractors in Lake Havasu and not being able to get an appointment American Chiropractic called me back and was able to get me in the same day so I could continue to enjoy the rest of my vacation. They even informed me that they would be around on Saturday if I needed to come in for another adjustment. I had a great experience with them and recommend.
