I showed up to my scheduled appointment and ended up waiting 45 minutes with no communication about what was going on. When I finally said I couldn't wait any longer, the front desk staff told me (very rudely) that they were still verifying my insurance. This was the first I'd heard of it. I had already been told the doctor would see me and that if there were any issues, I'd be informed later about potential charges. When I calmly said she could've been a little kinder about it, she snapped, "I'm done with you," and shoved a refund at me. Completely unprofessional behavior from someone in a healthcare setting. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Patients deserve to be treated with respect, basic communication, and transparency. Beware.

I have received acupuncture for more than 10 years and believe strongly in its benefits, which…read moremakes my recent experiences at Wangu Oriental Medicine & Acupuncture Clinic on South Eastern particularly disappointing. I suffer from neuropathy, and during yesterday's treatment I experienced excruciating pain. I repeatedly tried to explain the pain, where it was occurring, and that I needed them to stop. Instead, I felt talked over while the treatment continued. I counted approximately seven times that I said "stop" before the situation was finally addressed. When a patient is in significant pain and asking for treatment to stop, that request needs to be heard immediately. The last two sessions have also felt extremely rushed. The needles were inserted very quickly and aggressively rather than with the slower, deliberate approach I have experienced with acupuncture over the past two decades. Even more concerning, during one session I was told the needles had been removed and instructed to roll over, only to discover that needles were still in me. There have been other signs that the clinic needs to slow down and reassess its procedures. During a previous visit, there was an issue involving a door apparently being left unlocked, and I observed a doctor becoming upset about it. That session also felt unusually aggressive to me. I cannot say the two were connected, but the overall experience did not leave me feeling that patient care was receiving the attention it deserved. After my third session, I was told that next time I should request a "lighter" treatment. That conversation should have occurred before treatment began. My medical information was provided through the VA Southern Nevada healthcare system. At minimum, I expected an appropriate intake assessment: review the patient's history, discuss neuropathy and other relevant conditions, ask about previous acupuncture experience, identify areas of concern, and establish an appropriate treatment level. I am still experiencing extreme nerve pain following yesterday's treatment. I intend to continue acupuncture because I know from many years of experience that it can be an effective treatment. My concern is with how this clinic is currently delivering that care. The school and clinic need to slow down, listen to their patients, review the information available to them, and treat each person individually. Most importantly, please do not talk over a patient who is trying to explain what they are experiencing, especially while that patient is in severe pain and repeatedly asking you to stop. Everyone has areas of expertise, but good healthcare starts with listening to the person you are treating. I sincerely hope the clinic takes this feedback seriously and reassesses its intake, communication, supervision, and patient-safety procedures.

You are responsible for quarterbacking your own health and as with any Dr., You still need to ask questions and express concerns. They are not going to tackle you during your visits (non-Dr. visit, IV or weekly shot for example) and interrogate you. Unless they need to, he definitely will. I am currently undergoing testosterone therapy, (male - working very well), and also considering a few other hormone/peptide programs, and "food allergy/tolerance" tests. This is so you can tell what your body does not like. I have researched several BHRT clinics/facilities in Henderson and Vegas before choosing this one.
