Of all the churches I had attended in my hometown and in my church-visits in Eugene, Harvest did the best job of balancing respect for COVID guidelines and fostering a place of hospitality. We've been attending for more than a year, and have really felt the love of the congregation! I love the way that they are dedicated to loving and serving the area. They aren't just a 'club' or interest group that gets together on Sunday mornings, but they make an impact on the neighborhood they're in. The Spirit of God was all over this event. To see a church not just in the community, but reaching out to a people most other churches would pass by or turn a blind eye to; was absolutely awe inspiring. Coming from a background of addictions, violence, and incarceration; I was immediately drawn to this church and their outreach effort. Since that very first interaction I have experienced nothing but love and kindness here at The Door Church. I love the Holy Ghost filled fire preaching. I need honesty of the Word of God in my life. Pastor Wilder and his wife have poured their hearts and souls into the ministry of people; not just in my life but the ENTIRE congregation. If you're a person looking for a church that participates in religious acts of merely going through the motions, then this is not the church for you. However, if you're a person who is truly looking for a tangible relationship with Jesus Christ; and you want to understand the Word of God as it is written in the Holy Bible.. If you're a person who wants to know what true repentance is from a Biblical standpoint.. than this is MOST DEFINITELY the church for you. I don't need, or want dead religion in my life. That is why I come and will continue to come serve my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at The Door. Over the years the congregation has prayed for me, visited me in the hospital, encouraged me, supported me and accepted me for who I am. Not by works, or by money, but just for me being me. I love my Pastor, his wife, and all my brothers and sisters here at The Door Church. If life has beaten you down, chewed you up, and spit you out.. This is MOST DEFINITELY the church for you! Read some of the other reviews that have been posted (check out the reviews online as well) and if you want more detailed information about the negative experiences from this church and the other churches within this network of church plants please search online for Leaving The Network. This church is run more like a business than a church and the people attending are seen more as worker bees than individuals. We thought we had made some genuine friendships, until the moment we decided to leave when it became clear that those friendships were not true. Those "friends" never reached out to us again and will even pretend they don't see us in public. This same thing has happened to others we know who have also left, and the more we learn about this church and the others in the network the more we realize it is all by design. Like I said above, if you are looking for a good church in Eugene there are plenty to choose from and while this church may appear great upon first glance, it is not a great place to be long term.
