I needed a cash advance on a credit card. Something I don't like to do, but I needed to get cash for a purchase. I'm in Arden and I googled bank banks and home trust came up on my way home. When I came in, there were 2 tellers, one was helping someone through the drive-through and the other teller was at her counter. I asked if she could do a cash advance. She said yes, and then she called her manager and asked how to do it. After she charged my card and handed my receipt, she told me that she had to give me a check, not cash because I don't have an account there. I went from nice to being very upset. And yes, I became an angry customer. I asked why she processed the cash advance if she couldn't give me cash. Then she explained that she could write me a check that they would then cash and then I would get my cash to leave the bank. Her manager wasn't in the bank, but she showed up during this transaction period and tried to help her through it. During this time, another manager came over. So now I've got 3 people trying to create a check that they were then going to have me sign over to cash. Talk about ridiculous. If I wanted a local bank, I would definitely not get an account at this bank. It shouldn't take 3 people, one teller and 2 managers, to process this cash advance. Or they simply could've told me when I came in the door 'no we can't take care of this.'

I love going into the bank and being recognized by the staff there and welcomed back, it's a really nice change of pace from some of the bigger banks that treat you like a number. I also had a consult regarding applying for a home loan with a woman I believe her name was Christine. This lady took me in and treated me like a family member. This was my first time attempting to buy a home and she held my hand through the entire process. At no point was I met with judgement or made to feel embarrassed about my finances. She educated me and treated me like royalty. One downside to this location is the ATM does not allow deposits. That's silly.
