I brought my car in to have struts replaced and the following day began hearing a lot of rattling. I brought it back for more work and was told that the rattling had nothing to do with the work they performed. When I came to pick up my car, it had a broken windshield. They denied responsibility so I called their corporate office and they had an inspector look at the vehicle. They found a broken bolt on the skid plate that was rattling and fixed that, but denied my claim and refused to fix my windshield. So, in sum, I brought my car in with an unbroken windshield, left with a broken windshield and a rattling skid plate, which continues to rattle, despite their broken bolt "fix". I have used this outlet in the past for automobile related problems and they have come through with ample results. My problem is that I live directly behind this store and on many evenings, the employees stay after hours and work on their Kpop cars and sit there and rev the engines until they produce engine backfires, because this apparently is cool!!!?? Pretty sure this excessive revving and popping caused the stroke of my neighbors dog. They continue to allow this to happen. Next time I will call the police. Came here for an alignment and suspension diagnosis. Was told my front and rear break pads and rotors were bad and all needed to be replaced as well as an oil change because there was a slow leak at the oil filter. The break pads in the rear were bad due to a warped rotor but the front had more than enough life left in them. When I told them them I would do the break job and oil change/filter housing replacement myself they made it seem if the car was underivable (maybe because I'm young), even the 5 minutes down the road to my house was too much strain on it. I got home and checked the oil and it was well within the safe range for oil level on the dip stick. I then SAFELY drove 2 hours to a friend's house to do the work myself with no prior experience. Moral of the story is don't blindly trust them and make sure to check out what they are saying yourself. The only reason this review isn't 1 star is because they diagnosed the oil housing leak and rear warped rotors correctly. I brought my car here to do a front wheel bearing and was treated very politely. I usually would do work like this myself but not having a bearing press i opted to let them do it instead. They did the work in a morning as I expected and the car repair was done very well. I also liked that they didn't try to push me to do both front wheels to price gouge me. Bought tires from eBay. Also bought mounting and balancing from car advise. The y installed and tried charging for mounting and balancing. Told them it is paid for through car advise on eBay. They said need a purchase order. Showed them purchase order with name on it and order number. They said the order number starts with a letter not a number. After arguing with this GED employee, he actually brain stormed and called the place. Mr.GED starts to question the person on the other end but after 15 minutes GED finally realized that they mounting and balance was already paid for so anything that had to be solved on their computer was their problem. I brought my car to them for 2 new tires in back and all balancing on all four tires, and alignment. I have a lifetime alignment with them. They showed me my front right tire was very worn on the outside of it, the last time they did my alignment they said I was out of adjustment, but I will be ok it's just very minor it will not affect anything. Well needed to buy a new tire for $350. both rear tires were not balanced correctly. I bring my car to an alignment specialist, and he told me he just loosened two bolts and moved it back into adjustment, $80 to him. The back two tires had balanced not by them for other $30. I pulled into this Firestone, while on the road from Boston to Maryland. The heat shield on my car had lost a few bolts and was dragging, making a horrible sound and sparks on the highway. I was treated to a quick response, where they were able to put my car on the lift immediately and remove the offending heat shield. No charge, and sent us on our way in about 15 minutes, saving what could have been an aborted trip. The only condition was that they get to pet my dog. Tire installation should by all accounts be a simple task for a shop that is associated with a tire company......so one might think. By any standard this shop in Vernon brings a whole new level to mediocraty and highs in WTH. They did a superior job of gouging my aluminum rims with a tire machine. Also took no responsibility for returning a obvious leaking tire to the customer. Clearly I had not learned my lesson completely about how poorly this shop is because this is the 3rd time they had screwrd with me. I purchased some tires from tire rack and brought them to Firestone in vernon to be mounted. They removed all my wheels off car in the process they dropped one wheel on its face and damaged it (see pictures) Manager trey St Louis tried to lie and cover it up when he was not even the tech who did the work. I was unable to get help or a resolution at this location and had to call corporate to file a damage claim. If you make a mistake be honest about it mistakes happen and I would have been ok with that long as it gets fixed. Waiting on call back from corporate also contacting the BBB. Ordered tires from Tire Rack and had them shipped here for installation. Called on a Sunday afternoon and was able to get a slot to get them installed. I was asked the make and model of car, as well as the brand of tires I had shipped to the shop. After about an hour wait, installation payment was made and I went to leave. Checking the tires I saw they were not the ones I had ordered, even though I was previously asked which tires I ordered. I went back in and noted that the wrong tires were installed. The manager verified they had my tires in the back and had the mechanics install the correct tires. A free oil change coupon was given as compensation for making us wait longer. He was extremely patient in helping us and even helped reactivate our card (which seemed like a long process so we really appreciate him). They stayed late to fit us in even. Got a tire alignment and wheel rotation on Fourth of July weekend. Must have been too eager to get out for the holiday as my car is now having issues it never had before taking it. My steering wheel now shakes going anything above 55 mph and my car still pulls to the right. They told my I had to get my rear brakes replaced so we did but apparently that "distracted" then from noticing I also need tires because I came back 10 days later after showing my family my car issues and they now claim they got so distracted by my brakes that they forgot about me needing new tires. They only did two brakes but forgot that all 4 of my tires that are infront of your face the whole time "urgently need to be replaced" they will send you away in a death machine ans not own up to their mistakes. Brought my BMW for a oil change and to rotate my tires. I've been going there for a couple of years and to be honest I don't know why. There constantly trying to rip me off seeking me services that I don't need and my last visit will be my last. My car shakes like crazy and didn't before dropping it off. I brought a flat in to get fixed at around 12:00. They said they would call when ready. At about 4:50 i still had not received a call and they close at 5:00 so I decided to head down there. I get there they tell me its ready and apologize for not calling. The rep brings the tire out to my care except its the wrong tire. He goes back in the shop to find it and it turns out they gave my tire to another customer. They call that customer and he brings it back and picks up his correct tire. In the process he points out another nail that was in my tire that they didn't fix. This was not my first bad experience here, last set of tires I bought there several years ago never stopped leaking and I had to go back more than once to get the problem solved. I really think they have untrained workers with no supervision and based on some of the other reviews, I don't think I'm wrong. The manager tried to give me a free oil change to make up for it but if you can't handle tires, I'm not letting you anywhere near my engine. I brought my car in for alignment and to replace a snapped stud. They are like sure we can had that no problem. It took three hours to do this. I go to pay nd they are like you alignment was barley off and stud is in. Pay my bill driving home i notice my car is pulling to the right now. The new stud they put on my car was the wrong one aswell. Had to travel all the way back. They are like well you didnt tell us it was going to the right. Vernon Firestone stayed open late for us the night before Thanksgiving when we found we had a flat tire. When we pulled in they were already closed, but they still helped us. They fixed the issue with the tire quickly and did it free of charge so we could get home. We have to go back for a better repair soon, but they saved us such a hassle on a busy evening and with small children in the car. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. For something that should of took 5 minutes it took 2 hours. I kept losing air in one of my tires so I brought it in because I was told it would take 5 minutes, no appointment needed. After waiting for over an hour they drove my car in the garage. I asked 20 minutes later what was going on, which they said they couldn't find an issue with it. I ask for my car back and it took them another half hour to pull my car out of the garage. I was livid! So I decided to take it to my dealership and within 10 minutes they found the nail and patched it up. Do not go to Firestone! They are a complete joke and obviously a bunch of idiots if they are a tire place that couldn't find a nail in a tire. Please go elsewhere! read more

I've had my vehicle serviced for two rear bulbs to be replaced, an oil/filter change and tire rotation. I'm assuming the oil and filter were changed without any issue and that they followed through with the rotation. I say this because one of the bulbs was not changed because of it's apparent difficulty to access. My indicator light was still on after the service so I went back to have them check. I watched the tech struggle to get access to the bulb, even scratching some of the exterior paint and broke a small piece off of an interior panel followed by dirty finger prints on the head liner. Clearly he did not know how to properly access the bulb nor did he th first time! I will not be spending another dime of my hard earned money with that crew again! read more

Can't thank these guys enough. Our family of five was driving from Boston to NY for a long weekend in April 2015, and somewhere around Vernon CT we heard a scraping noise on the front tire. Part of the plastic wheelhouse had become detached and was scraping against the brand-new front tire. (We had had the tire replaced just days before due to abnormally worn treads - turns out in retrospect the same thing must have been happening for some time but we hadn't noticed it). The scraping was clearly damaging the new tire and we weren't comfortable continuing all the way to NY without at least a temporary repair - but it was nearly 6 pm on a Friday and we were pessimistic about finding a mechanic. A GPS search turned up this Firestone nearby, and when I called at 5:55 explaining the problem, I was told "well, we're supposed to close at 6, but if you're not too far away just bring it in." We headed straight there, the guys checked us in, re-attached the wheelhouse within half an hour - staying well past their scheduled closing time - and after all that? Didn't charge us a thing! They said it was no problem, didn't cost them anything, no reason to charge us. We'll need to get the part replaced, but their fix held up all the way to NY and back. I might have expected this kind of service from an auto shop where I was a regular customer - but to treat complete out of state strangers like this? Astonishing. On my way from MASSACHUSETTS to Atlantic City and my car started acting up. I didn't know what the problem was so I called my roadside assistance & they sent a tow truck. I called firestone to see if I could have it towed to their location so they could check it out to see if they could find the problem. The tow truck would not be to my location for 45 minutes and Firestone was about to close. They said to have it brought to their location anyways because more than likely they would still be there . They even assisted me in confirming hotel accomodations that took pets & gave us a ride (myself, 2 kids and a dog) to a local hotel. The next morning they called and said they identified the problem quickly. The wheel was close to coming off. They tighted all the wheels. Once again they sent someone to pick us up from the hotel. I've been a customer of the Firestone store on Rt 30 in Vernon for over 10 years, and I think it is an excellent shop, run by an honest group of service advisors, and with very good mechanics. I've had them do work from tire and battery checks and replacements, to brakes, suspension and alignments, to engine timing belts. I've almost always been fully satisfied the first time, and if there was ever an issue, they made it right. Little pressure to do extra work - they advise what's needed and you make the decision. The people at this store have earned my trust. I recommend this location highly. read more

I would give this center a "5 star" but I haven't ever given a reviewee 5 stars! These guys are professional and consistent. I haven't had a bad experience with anyone at this facility in the 20+ years I have used it. I don't know the owner or any of the employees or managers personally, and you get what you pay for. The key with tires, and any other under the hood repair, is to UNDERSTAND what you are asking for. Does anybody really want to buy tires or even worse, fix a flat or damage? No. These guys have always done their best for me and my family. Compare Firestone with your dealership. Is the price, experience, quality and availability the same? Often not. By the way, they tend not to upsell service, like alignment, but will offer it. That's a plus. I would recommend this franchise in the Manchester/Vernon/South Windsor area and suggest in staying away from the old school "mom and pops" in the same. Good luck! read more

We can't thank Firestone Complete Auto Care in Vernon, CT enough for their amazing service. About 30 minutes into our 8+ hour drive back to Virginia on the Mass Pike, with two kids in tow, we noticed the low tire sensor light come on. Thankfully there was a service station just off the highway less than 5 minutes away. My husband stopped to put air in the tire and we were back on the road. Less than 10 mins later the tire was completely flat. It was pouring rain. And a Sunday morning, around 7 am. We knew we couldn't do the rest of the drive on a donut, so figured we should find the closest Costco, wait for them to open and hope we didn't have to wait too long to get a new tire. My sister in law helped research a spot on our route to get a new tire, and suggested this Firestone in Vernon, CT, right off of I-84 (the same way we were heading). Not only were they open on Sunday, they opened at 8:00 am! I called and the pleasant woman who answered said she could get us in, and since there were cars ahead of us, we'd likely have to wait 1.5-2 hours to get in and then another 1.5 hours for service. We decided this was still our best bet, so a half hour later we hobbled in. Not only were the facility and restroom clean and the Service Coordinator friendly, they got our car in immediately, assigned two technicians to change the tires (we were due for new ones anyway, so opted to get four new ones while we were there) and align the car. We were back on the road in an hour!! It's difficult to find outstanding service these days, but this Firestone exceeded our expectations and we couldn't be more thankful for their prompt and excellent service! read more

I got great service from them. Replaced 4 tires on one of my car, and then 2 on my other car. Excellent deals. There was no pressure for buying any particular brand of tire. On one occasion, I was told that I could wait for another 2 months before replacing tire; which impressed me. I would recommend this place and will go back to them again for any repairs. read more
