Very disappointed with my experience at Firestone. I spent $2,000 on repairs, only to have my car continue to have the same starting issues when I got home. My wife specifically asked if the alternator could be the problem--they said they checked it and it wasn't. A few days later, I had to bring the car back, and now they say it *is* the alternator and want another $1,000. It's frustrating to feel like something that should have been caught was completely overlooked. I expected better quality and honesty from a company like Firestone and won't be returning. read more

Picked up a really nice set of 4 tires, to have installed on my vehicle. I spoke to Mel on the phone, and told him. He said, I needed to make an appointment. Before I hung up, I explained that the rims are "powder coated" and might need a little TLC. Mel was nice and explained he was going to have his best guy on it. Soon After, my wife came to pick up the vehicle, (watch the cost was reasonable and was done at a reasonable time as well) she brought it home. After i got home from work, and was looking at the vehicle, I noticed there were some scratches on the rims, obviously from installation. The scratches weren't too bad. I'll have to spray something on them to cover the scratches but overall compared to the price it was worth it. Mel didn't install the tires and my wife wouldn't see something like that, so I can't really blame anyone. If I could give 0 stars I would....Dropped of 7 rims and and 5 tires to mount and balance for my e39. I specifically let the manager that was there on Friday evening that the two rims that had tires on them were going to be given to my son for his e39 the rims only as I needed the tires for my car. Saturday afternoon I showed up as they stated of the phone should be ready in about an hour. Look at the two wheels that were for my son and they were damaged on the lips. Let the manager know and he stated that's how they came in. I let him know that I did not give him the 2 rims that were for my son like that. The manager stated his wheel mounting machine would not cause that damage then proceeded to ask me how much was I paying for the service then asked me how much I paid to get me 5 wheels refinished that they were working on. The manager ask me what would he want me to do. I told him you should know you're the manager at this place. He proceeded to tell me he knew this was going to happen . I replied if that was the case you should have never providing me with the service and I could have gone else where. Let the manager know I have pictures and a video of wheels and if he wanted to see it he said no.Was told by some one at the place that Firestone is not the best place to have the wheel I have installed. If I would have known that I would have gone elsewhere. They also damaged the inner barrels of my refinished powered coated wheel. Aluminum wheels will start corroding if the finsh is compromised. I didn't let the manager know as I was upset and just wanted to get my wheels a leave the shop. Pictures speak for themselves. The last two pictures are of the 2 wheels in perfect condition before they damaged them that were going to be given to my son. Completely messed up my alignment for my 2004 Tahoe. First time i went to pick up my vehicle they showed me the alignment sheet and the Camber was not in spec. When i brought it to their attention they said that it was good and it drove straight. When i pulled off the lot i immediately noticed the truck pulling to the left. i drove the truck straight back and explained to them what was going on. They had a tech get in the truck with me and he confirmed that the truck was still pulling to the left. I agreed to leave the truck overnight so they could fix the alignment. The next morning i went to pick it up and the sheet showed the same camber out of alignment. The service advisor assured me that the truck drove straight and that it only pulled to the left on one road because of a cup in the road but on the other roads it was fine. He then said to me "If you know anything about cars you would know alignments are just measurements, and if there is a problem it would require a front end check". After that i said to him well isnt the first step of doing an alignment to do a front end check because who would do an alignment on worn/ broken components. He didnt like that very much. I gave it a week of driving around and long and behold it wasnt just that one road that was cupped, it pulled to the left on all the roads. I bring it back for the third time after doing some research of my own and reading on different forums. It turns out that they went on the low end of the specification for the right "toe" and the high end of the specification for the left "toe", which this year Tahoe does not like. I explain this to him on my third time back, he completely disregards me and says to come back in an hour. When i come back the service manager said the car drives straight but we are giving you back your money. I said i dont want my money back i just wanted my car to drive straight, they refund me anyway, I look at the alignment report and everything is completely out of wack. I go to drive my car and need to keep my steering wheel half turned to drive the car straight. So now i really pissed because now i deem the car not roadworthy. I go back and explain that its not road worthy and they have a technician drive the car with me in it. He states that the car needs another alignment. so now i am really pissed off and tell them they refunded me my money just so they can say its not their problem anymore but you guys gave me a truck thats not drive-able. I refuse to go back to them for anything ever again. (The reason for the alignment was because i just replaced the upper control arms and the outer tie rod ends.) Trust the reviews, don't come here! Came in for a front axle replacement. I was going to buy an OEM part from BMW and ask them to install. They refused. So they ordered the part (twice as much! Instead of $305 for OEM I paid $750 for god know what) and when installed, I asked them to show me the receipt so I can rest assured they got me the OEM part. But they refused to tell me! Saying they got me the part with lifetime warranty. However when I got the car back they made me sign a paper that says 12 months warranty. To get more into my experience. As soon as I drive off their lot, I hear a noise in my tire, which increased with speed. I stopped to see what it is and its a acre with a washer! A little bonus you get from this place. Went in for an oil change, was quoted $49.99. When I arrived approximately 1hr after phoning in a time of 4:30pm I arrive 10 minutes early, they said I wasn't scheduled. Manager agreed to schedule me at the time, asked for my plate then asked for the keys. I asked what the total was going to be, he said $85. I asked for the breakdown, he showed how their system pulls the VIN from my plate then filled in a descriptive section in the work order that said my car needs 5w-40 (it doesn't - it needs 5w-30 or 0w-20). He said they didn't have that particular oil and there were options for him to override the system yet he refused to do so. Then he told me that there was nothing he could do for me because if he selected the override to purchase it he would have to take a trip to AutoZone and that would take him 2 hours (although it's right down the block). I made an apt and without even looking or listening, told me to drop it off and they would "not be looking at it anytime soon." My warranty company listed this place as an authorized dealer. To go here and have them call to get the diagnostic approved, when I told him this .....He stated....." I should call? I won't do that you have to do that" and laughed at me! I would not go back here to put air in my tires on a tricycle!!! Reported him to the warranty company. Went to my mechanic down the street and one two three they adressed the issue in five minutes. To make it simple, i was recommended to go there by another shop who couldn't complete a job because of a lack of equipment. Even though firestone couldn't do the job either I figured i let them do my inspection and oil change. That was my mistake. Since that visit i have been getting a oil leak on the driveway and the scent of oil while driving at high speeds. I figured it was a valve cover leak and i would get to it. Well it turns out having my usual shop do my next oil change they found the oil filter was loose. In the past i had issues with bad wheel balancing in this place but this is ridiculous. I've been using Firestone on Hylan Blvd. (store 020486) since i moved here 9 years ago. Service and staff were always friendly and accommodating. Now I set up an appointment for 4:00 for an oil change, was told by the service advisor named Linden that it would take an hour. That was ok, but when I returned in an hour, the car was still in a parking spot. I though maybe it was done, but when I asked Linden said it would be next. Then I wait 20 minutes, walked outside to see that no one is working on my car. so I tell Linden that I want my car now and he says the mechanic went to the bathroom. Rude employees Called in to check if they offer NY State Car inspection. After letting the person on the phone know this, i asked them if I could come in. They proceeded to ask me something in thicc NY accent, something like "where do you guys live" or "what do you guys wan". Since I had already answered the second question when i called in, i proceeded to tell them where I lived, my zip code and everything. I thought that was a requirement, like you go to a center close to you. After a few back and forths i wasn't able to understand the person. But instead of handing me off to another person or asking me politely, they just slammed the phone down. Just came back from firestone.Had an appointment today for free brake checkup.When i reached there ,the guy said it would take 2 hours for it and i have to drop the car. I asked him why that long, he said they have only 2 guys working today and that he had to order parts and replace them.i told him, i needed brake inspection and he said yeah but we have to replace parts otherwise whats the point of this check....i asked him what if everything is ok but he was still adamant that parts might have to be changed. Firestone advertise free brake check inspection on their website which just seems like a scam. I also asked him if there were not enough people why did they accepted the appointment, he was like thats how it works here. I came here half a year ago to install 4 tires. Recently I went for an oil change and had my tires rotated. Right after that the steering wheel started to vibrate. Everyone tells me the sane thing: Firestone did not balance my rear tires. So I went back to Firestone to fix the problem. It turns out they only give us, customers, 3 month warranty on balancing and I have to pay now $15 per tire. The guy at the counter reassured me that it's not that much money. Thanks. I came to this place on a last minute whim because I had to get ready for a road trip. I was immediately greeted by Joshua upon walking into the shop. He was very courteous and transparent. The shop was clean and the mechanics fast. I personally stood outside to watch as my oil was being changed. The mechanics are trust worthy. They said no problem we got that for you. My tire was also flat so I came in to change my tire as well. I brought in my Toyota Camry for an oil change. It only had 3,500 miles on it. I didn't realize that for a synthetic oil change you don't need to have less than 7500 miles. They never asked me how many miles I had and charged me $99. So they took advantage of me and ripped me off. They should be ashamed of themselves. Got a flat tire, and needed a replacement. I went in there spoke to a guy name Frank. He explained he doesn't stock the tire and had to order it. A week later it comes in... I bring my car there, and he tells me he can not change the tire because he doesn't have the equipment to install a runflat. This would have been good info a week ago numbnuts. I SO wish we had read these reviews before we took our car to these idiots for front brake pad replacements. DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANY REASON. We are from California, and were visiting relatives. We took our car there, just prior to getting on the road back to the West Coast. On the drive we noticed that the car was vibrating when my husband used the brakes. That happens when the rotors are not machined during the brake pad replacement. When we got to Colorado, we took the car to the Boulder Firestone, as the warranty if for a year, and is nationwide. Boulder Firestone could not find our warranty information in the national database, because Staten Island Firestone DIDN'T PUT IT IN! We had to call Staten Island to get them to put it into the national database. Paul at Staten Island FIrestone also agreed that we didn't get the work we paid them to do, which was machining the rotors, an integral part of replacing brake pads.. The Boulder Firestone, after telling us that they are experts on brakes, did not machine the rotors, they charged us for bleeding and replacing the brake fluid, which may or may not need to have been done. Subsequently, two independent mechanics in the Boulder area confirmed, by sight, that the rotors were not machined, and needed to be. Run, Run, Run!!!!!!!! Very Sad seeing what I saw yesterday. Came in with a screw in my tire, it was still holding air. Waited for almost 2 hours to bee seen . Upon arrival I was told that I possibly need a new tire that it may not be repairable. While I was waiting I saw and listened to other customers. People were coming in for oil changes being told there brakes were bad. One lady came in for front tires they told her your rear tires are worse you need all four. Every person left with an additional estimate or problem. Eventually my name was called and just what I thought would happen did happen. Sir I have bad new for you your tire could not be fixed you need to replace it. My tires only have 10,000 miles on them and the screw was in top tread of tire. I said why can't it be fixed the salesman said the screw was in the sidewall. I've been around a long time and never knew that they now consider the top of the tire a sidewall. I told them to take my car off the lift. Had my tire patched today at a reputable tire shop on the other side of Hylan by McDonald's. Disgusted from what I saw , people do your homework first!!!!!!!
