I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at this Firestone location. My car stalled on the highway, so I had it towed to their lot since their shop was already full. When I dropped it off, the front desk employee told me their diagnostic mechanic wasn't available yet but would work on my car when he returned. On Tuesday, they told me my car wouldn't start and couldn't be moved into the shop unless I approved a new battery. I agreed, and they assured me they would call the next day with updates. Wednesday came and went--no call. When I called, they said the car still wouldn't start and that I might have to pay about $80 for them to tow it from the parking lot into the shop. They told me to check back the next day. Thursday--again, no call. When I reached out, they told me the car was still sitting outside untouched. At that point I told them to just leave it where it was, and I would tow it somewhere else. On Friday, when the tow truck arrived, the tow operators were able to start the car enough to put it in neutral and move it without any issue. This was something Firestone claimed they couldn't do for days. Based on my experience, it felt like either the staff didn't know basic procedures for handling a disabled vehicle, or they were pushing unnecessary charges. Either way, I completely lost confidence in this location. I would not recommend taking your car here. Beware!!! If you make an appointment it doesn't mean your car will be seen at that time. I dropped off my rented car at 10:45am for my 11am appointment since I am on the road. My car was not given to me until the store was about to close at 5pm. I would call and ask the workers if they had an estimated time or knew when my car would be serviced. Ever single time I would call I was told, "oh it's the next car, it'll be ready in about an hr". My car was not ready until 5:00pm. That is a whole day of driving gone simply because the workers here do not know what time management is. I've had a good experience here last time my car needed service. Today (9/10/2018), I needed two light bulbs replaced on my car and was quoted $135. Instead I went to Napa Auto and paid $19 for parts and it took ME (not a very handy lady) only 12 minutes to replace both lightbulbs following the instructions in the DIY section of my car user manual. This Firestone has been here as long as I can remember. It was here when I worked downtown in the past century and it is still providing top service to the downtown area. Recently they came to the rescue when George had a flat tire downtown. Or should I say, two flat tires since his spare tire was flat as well. Luckily I have a portable air compressor and we were able to inflate the tire on his CRV enough to drive to this Firestone from Washington Avenue and Broadway. We had to pull over and inflate the tire three different times, but we made it safely. They had to cut the lock nut off the spare tire, because we could not find the key to remove it. They then inflated it and replaced the one that was seriously flat. It had a hole that you could stick a finger through. They were professional, helpful and no high pressure sales. They understood George had to wait till this Fridays paycheck to buy the new tire. They flipped these tires around for the low fee of $30. That is a deal. If you're in the downtown area and need auto care, I recommend this Firestone. (If you want to hear a funny story to this incident, I will share it with you at some future Yelp event) read more

It's the closest auto repair to me. The service is friendly and the prices are somewhat reasonable. I get the hazard protection on my tires that has come in handy over the last couple of years. They are really great about showing you what's wrong with your car and their knowledge about tires is pretty uncanny. This place only gets a 3 star rating from me because it's a little overpriced and the guys at the desk, while great on the customer service end, have a bit of a work to do on their car talk. Sometimes I feel as if the relay between the mechanics and the guys working in the front of the shop is a little disconnected. Also, they never have any coffee brewed while I wait, and there's a neglected coffee pot always sitting there collecting dust. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place for tires and simple service. However, I would search out a local mechanic for any of your heavy duty repairs. read more

I rarely write reviews, but this is something i would feel terrible about not telling people about. So the winter of 2017 was a terrible winter; and its understandable your busy. I went one day ago for an oil change and battery check turns they were busy and recommended i come in the next day with an appointment. So, like any logical person i took the time and came in the next day, at 4:00pm for my appointment. My associate was RIck, who was kind initially. I sat down and played the waiting game. They did not pull my car in untill 5pm for this oil change.... dear god. Anyways so they check my battery, its "failing", I am like alright that is fair, reasonable it needs to be changed. Rick quotes me $154. i was taken abit a back, so i go on firestone.com. To find the most expensive battery is $134 with a Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) of 620 . So lesson #1 CHECK THE WEBSITE. I alert Ric to this price he is like alright. However he changes the price on the more inferior 550CCA.. Luckily some how i am able to find out the article #/Bar code he is charging me for isn't the same one i want. As the CCA's are different. I bring this to Ric's attention he says "we don't sell the 550 CCA battery". I said "okay" please change the article #/barcode. He does.... So 30-40 minutes goes by. Then he is like we don't have the 620 CCA battery. I will order it for you.. Wow such dishonesty. I would akin to this to going to your doctor and wanting cold medicine and getting Tylenol. Like sure it works.. but its not whats best for me. Staff was very friendly. However, I had 4 brand new tires put on my car and within 30 minutes two of them were completely flat. I took my car to a different Firestone location in town and they informed me that not only had all four of my tires' valves been broken in the process of my tires being changed (none of the valves were repaired or replaced), but my tires hadn't been balanced either. The staff at the second Firestone location were appalled, as was I. I will gladly continue to take my car to Firestone, but won't be returning to this location. read more

Whoa this place is awesome! Imagine this scenario: you're visiting St. Louis from Chicago for the weekend. Trips wrapping up Sunday afternoon, you're getting ready to drive home and out of nowhere your brakes start making a truly horrific crunchy sound and stop working. Car rolling out of the parking lot perfect working order 2 hours later. They kept us totally updated throughout the repair and though it turned out not to be necessary nice bearded dude at the front desk vowed to even stay late if need be to get us safely back on the road. SEXIST. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE..If I could give this place a zero I would. I usually Avoid this fire stone because every time I go there it is something but I got a flat two blocks from there today so I had no choice. Since I got a flat on my way to work I drop the car off before 8 AM and they told me it would be done no later than one I don't get off until three so I didn't really have a problem I said OK. I called back by 1:30 just to check And see if we ready when I came at three they told me they hadn't gone to a year and it should be done before they close at five. Still do not have an issue seeing as they fit me in so I was grateful either way. I just bought four new tires about 2 1/2 weeks ago and I have road Hazard warranty. My car is finally ready at like 5:30 PM I went up to the counter and he told me it was about $34. I question is is I've only had a tires for two weeks and tires iPad over months later have been 20 something. He stated let me look then proceeded to put stuff in it came up with a higher price at $50 and some odd change.. I question how did it go up he went in the back to check the tread to see if they had entered it right. But instead of him coming back out another guy came out and proceeded to look at it and change it and the price went then from 50 something 70 something to 180 something back to 90 something each time me questioning why it is changing and why it is so much. This entire process the second guy has been calling me honey baby girl and sweet and each time I said please don't call me that but he continued. when he called me another time and at higher price I was fed up at this point so I said it is not right for you guys to keep changing amount not honored the original quoted amount and I've asked you several times to stop calling me these pet names now that and ready else in the Firestone could hear him he said okay you have two options now you can pay the full price which is over $200 or we can keep your key and you can talk to the manager tomorrow. I called this place on a Monday to see when I could get an appointment to get my oil changed and have my front brakes fixed. They gave me a time of 8am on Friday. I told them I was going out of town with my vehicle on Saturday so I asked them if they are certain they could have my car done by end of day Friday and they assured me multiple times they could. Friday comes, I take my car in at 8 and they tell me to wait as they have two people in front of me. No big deal, they get to me in about 15 minutes. We go over what my vehicle needs done to it and again instate oil change and front break replacement. They were also going to do a full vehicle inspection so 7 hours later I call, the guy checks on my vehicle and says it just went up on the lift, 45 minutes later they call me back. Guy says "your oil change is done but your gonna need new front brakes". I was like yeah, you can have them done by tonight tight? He was bewildered and said no, I don't have an opening until next week. The whole point of me calling on a Monday was to make an appointment to get these two specific things done! So this is like 3:45, they tell me I can come get my vehicle at 5. I get there at like 5:05 and it's still on the lift with no tires on it. This place is an absolute unreliable mess with no communication between anyone. read more

I needed new tires for my Subaru so I ordered them on TireRack and had them shipped to this Firestone location. I knew I needed to call them to schedule an appointment but it slipped my mind for a couple of days. I ordered the tires on a Friday and they were delivered on Monday and the manager called me up and asked when I'd like to come in since the tires had made it there already. I asked him if Monday was okay and he said to bring it on in, any time. So told him around 2pm and I brought the car in and decided to get an alignment too. All in all it was about $177 for the tires to be installed and the alignment. I guess that's not too bad? They charged like $89 for the alignment which is what my Subaru dealership would have charged (and frankly I hate the attitudes of the ppl who work at the Webster Groves Subaru) so I figured why not get it done at Firestone? They have a lifetime alignment thing which I guess is good if you plan on living near a Firestone for a while and plan on driving the same car for a while. It's $200 something for lifetime alignment but I didn't get that since I had no idea where I'd be in a few years. Anyway long story short, dropped it off around 2pm and was called to come get it at around 3:30pm or so. In the meantime we went to grab food and then relaxed at home since the Firestone is conveniently located down the road from us. Both Ron and Larry (the manager) were super easy to deal with and I think I'd definitely come back to this location especially b/c it's so conveniently located close to me and never had any issues with them. I had my poor, immobilized car towed to this Firestone location which had previously worked on my car. After assembling a cadre of techs to examine my car as it lay helplessly outside on the flatbed, they decided against putting tires and wheels on my car. This determination came after I called the shop the very same day. I told the tech what happened, and the work I needed done. He told me to bring the car in, so I did, silly me. My husband and I both have had various services done at this location, and neither of us had any problems or were less than satisfied. We received better prices on tires than anywhere else we checked, and the same goes for your typical maintenance. horrible. terrible. don't come here. i drop my car off FOR A FLAT TIRE AT 9AM and they tell me "give us a decent hour". after they don't call me for 2 hours, i drive back and all they have to say is "yeah give us 30 minutes to replace it" ... keep in mind, when i dropped it off there was only 1 car ahead of me that they had to work on. someone do the math, make it make sense. so then i come back at 1140 (they told me 30 minutes at 1050) and they still have nothing to show for it. there's not even a person at the front desk that you could ask about how much longer it's going to be. my mind hurts from listening to the phone non stop ring. this is objectively the worst car repair shop i've ever been to in my 19 (almost 20) years of existence. i wouldn't go here if my car was engulfed in flames and it was the last place available in an apocalyptic universe. i would simply accept my fate and die with my burning car. They even give me a chair next to the outlet so I can plug in my lap top while I work on it. The guys are super friendly and really helpful. I brought my car in to have breaks and rotors replaced twice by this location within the last two years(due to extreme vibration when applying brakes). I was told I had warped rotors both times, so I agreed to pay them to replace the rotors and breaks. After the last visit a few weeks ago, the moment I left the shop, my breaks have been squealing very loudly every time I apply the breaks. I then took my car back to the location and was told after a break inspection that nothing was wrong. I then told them there is something wrong as my breaks have NEVER SCREECHED OR SQUILLED while applying my breaks. I was then told that sometimes the breaks makes noises on some cars and that there was nothing they could do about it. I have been taking my car there for services for the last few years and was pushed out the door like I haven't been a paying customer. I would recommend no one takes there car here as u are only a $, and will not get the service you deserve. Only a hefty bill that has to be paid after service if u want u car back.
