Went there yesterday with a dead Interstate battery problem because they are an Interstate dealer and it is still under warranty. Jumped the truck in North Clearwater and drove it there. Guy told me the alternator was bad because his little machine told him so. You cannot get from Clearwater to Pinellas Park with a dead battery to start if the alternator does not work. He said he was going to replace the batter too of course since it was under warranty. Why replace a batter that is only a year old if the alternator is bad? Because if you replace the battery for $25 and the alternator for almost $500, it will surely fix the problem. Told him to stop, replace the battery and sure enough, alternator is charging new batter no problem. Took them almost 2hrs to change a battery. The guy who was actually replacing the battery brought me the little print out from the test machine that clearly stated "charging system is working normally," after replacing the battery. He tried to tell me to keep an eye on the alternator because something is wrong with it. Truck has run a good 3hrs since they replaced the battery and not one problem. Firestone also own Tires Plus who tried to rip me off by replacing a master cylinder for $800 when all I needed was plugs and wires about 4months ago. These guys are a rip off. read more

Great customer service and competitive pricing. I went to this Firestone (corner of 78th Ave and 49th St.) to get 4 new tires. I spent a few months trying to find the best prices for my F150 and found that they had the most competitive prices around. I called ahead and got an appointment for the next day. They started on my truck as soon as I got there. They told me it would take about 2 hours to change the tires, change the oil, check alignment and fix any alignment issues. It only took them 1 and a half hours to finish everything. I will be taking my truck here for all future service because they don't try to sell you sh*t you don't need like JiffyLube and other car service places. I would recommend that you call ahead and get an appointment for routine service because it seemed they get busy quickly as the day goes on. I highly recommend this place read more

I had a terrible experience with this location. They finished installing my tires quickly, but they snapped a lug stud in the process. The service manager made me an appointment for the following Monday to replace the stud and do a front alignment. I called the following Monday and they had no record of the appointment and they hadn't ordered the lug stud. He said the service manager that helped me would call me the next day. It's the end of business and no call. I also found out they left a lug nut off one of my other wheels. Totally unprofessional!! I am at Sears and they are fixing it as I type this. very sad to see what should be a dependable business, suck this bad. ugh. just find another mechanic. so disappointed in this place. they lie, especially Bob. so just don't bother. finally got a call back from someone claiming to be the GM of Firestone, think his name was Will, and he was investigating and would "call right back in just a few minutes". I have been going here for the past 4 years and the management has changed hands a lot. I have been a loyal customer of Firestone since 2000 and I have had really good luck with the managers from all the locations including this one. That was until a year ago at this location. My son in law went to this location Summer of 2013 to get his AC fixed. When he left the AC worked but then the power steering was shot. He took it back and told them what was happening. They said they didn't know why. I was out of town so I could not deal with them. I chalked it up as a mistake some where and I figured it was just a fluke. Then in June 2014 I went in to get an oil change for my 2006 Camry with 76K miles. I told him I had a coupon from the website. He told me that they would take care of it. When I got the estimate ticket it was for $40? I went back to my office and brought up the coupon which was for $21.00. I called him back and told him about he coupon price that I had and he said the coupon was for newer cars or something like that? I told him I was selling the car and I did not care what type of oil he put in the car, I just wanted the $21.00 special. He told me that they would not do that and it was company policy to only put in high mileage oil into this year and make. I got mad and said OK. I paid the switch and bait price for the oil change and I do not plan on ever going back to Firestone again. I guess a 10 year customer is worth nothing to them. read more

I approved a 404.00 catalytic converter job on 2/1/17 to be done on 2/2/17, they replaced the entire exhaust system, which was in good working condition, it did not need to be replaced, they billed me 1726.00 for this unapproved service. I filed a police report Thursday 2/2/17 Night, Next day 2.3.17, a rather large clerk from the back named BOB (later I found out he is the manager) whom I had no prior knowledge of, (I dropped car off with Will, and talked to Adam on the phone, and Glenn did the actual work), Bob used intimidation tactics, stating he threw away my parts the night before and he would remove the new parts and give me back my car (So I could tow it elsewhere is my guess) to force me for the repair I did not authorize, After my husband signed under duress and we pulled the car out of the place, I noticed a loud rubbing noise in the back, so I took the car to Mineke, and they discovered that the pipe Firestone had just installed was laying on the frame, and had to repair it, I also have photos taken at firestone showing the "new" after market 193.00 generic muffler was dented). I reported them to BBB, they took the case. Bob the manager at Firestone should have showed integrity and corrected it, I was a platinum Customer. Discover is also investigating the sham. They have also been reported to Angie's list. UPDATE: no one has called me back and the check engine light came back on at abut 1:30 PM 2/21/17. I took the car to 2 places and had them hooked up, The 02 sensor they charged me 133.00 plus 58.00 to install is no good. read more
